The whole room seemed to pause, as if they hadn’t heard Kolu correctly. Or maybe they just couldn’t believe what he was saying. Yes, Kolu was a young master with a very powerful and terrifyingly prestigious family behind him.
And it was absolutely because of that that they couldn’t understand why he was turning down Instructor Hadrian’s offer.
Instructor Hadrian was a good instructor with limitless future potential, not only in the Academy but also in his cultivation. Who wouldn’t want him as an instructor?
The fact that Kolu could use his family connections to get almost any instructor he wanted did not negate this fact.
Because why would a young master want to choose Caelen Seradon as their instructor?
But then again, maybe this was what was called the arrogance of a powerful young master.
Only Caelen was not surprised.
’Otherwise, why would Kolu want to be in Class Thirteen? Why would a young master like him want anything from Caelen Seradon? The same one that’s almost killed... Yes. Of course he would want to stay here!’
Instructor Hadrian seemed to be the most stunned, as if he hadn’t expected any student, unless they already had a powerful instructor, to turn down his proposal.
It just didn’t make sense!
His face tightened. "Young Master Kolu, may I ask you why?"
Kolu smiled gently and took his time thinking about the answer, his face thoughtful, as if he were seriously considering it. Then he nodded. "You may."
Instantly, Instructor Hadrian’s face tightened. This Young Master Kolu was seriously not giving him any face at all! The atmosphere in the classroom instantly turned cold as he gritted his teeth. "Young Master Kolu, why do you refuse to join my class?"
Kolu suddenly seemed to gain enlightenment, as if he had just understood the question. Then an apologetic expression crossed his face.
"Instructor Hadrian, it’s not that I don’t want to join your class, but this was the class I was appointed to. I can only leave with Instructor Caelen’s authority."
While it was true that people were indeed appointed to instructors, who actually followed those appointments? Everyone used their influence to get the class and instructor they wanted! And with Young Master Kolu’s background, he could have picked the best of the best!
All of this was just an excuse!
But Instructor Hadrian wasn’t angry. In fact, his face was still calm. Now, Kolu was pointing at Caelen as the one holding him back, so wasn’t the matter already solved?
After all, could Caelen dare not to release a student to him, Instructor Hadrian?
Who was Instructor Hadrian, and who was Instructor Caelen?
The difference between them was like heaven and earth!
Instructor Hadrian was a strong genius with limitless potential for the future, and he had students who also had great potential. His standing in the Academy was strong, and his influence was even stronger. The only thing he lacked was a powerful background... but wasn’t that exactly why he wanted Kolu as his student? To have a student like that, from such a background!
Meanwhile, Caelen came from a strong but declining family. But even an old dragon was still a dragon! By all rights, he should have held a higher status in the Academy, on equal footing with all the top instructors. Every student should have wanted to stand and learn under him.
But he held the title of the most useless instructor, and he had no standing in his own family. The only glorious thing about him was how he had managed to remain an instructor at the Academy!
It was clear that Instructor Hadrian could easily suppress Caelen. Although he wouldn’t be able to kill him, he could humiliate him and trample on him as easily as breathing.
So, Instructor Hadrian turned to Caelen and said casually, "Alright then, I’ll leave it to Caelen to handle the transfer. This matter is settled, Young Master Kolu. Come with me."
And just like that, the matter was settled.
Settled? Who decided that?
Caelen had a strange expression on his face as he looked at Kolu.
’But I need this Kolu to stay here. I’ll make use of his background for my own benefit. He’s also one of the most promising students.’
But in the end, Caelen was Caelen, and he would do things in his own way. He didn’t even look at Hadrian when he said flatly, "Kolu will continue to stay in Class Thirteen."
His words were filled with indifference, as if he were simply stating a fact. As if... his words, Caelen Seradon’s words, carried weight!
The room seemed to freeze.
This was the result of Instructor Hadrian’s aura surging as he turned to look at Caelen, to really look at him. His eyes contained disbelief.
"You? Who gave you the right to have an opinion here? You should simply carry out my orders."
Tension filled the room. But most of the students weren’t worried about Caelen. They were worried that they might get dragged into it as well when their instructor got beaten.
Only Marek was filled with tension, trembling slightly.
And Kolu stood there with a slight smile on his face.
Everyone was waiting for Caelen’s next reaction. Ultimately, what he said or did next would determine the amount of beating he would receive.
Then it was Caelen’s turn to look at Hadrian. To really look at him.
And Hadrian suddenly felt his heart tighten. His aura surged like a tide, stirring up the surrounding essence. Sharpness spread from him like hundreds of blades cutting through the air.
He couldn’t believe it... Had he just felt threatened? Him, Hadrian?
It should have been impossible. No one in this entire class should have been able to threaten him!
Caelen calmly spoke his next words.
"If you want to take Kolu from here, you’ll have to do it by force. And if you do that, you will die."
