"Today is for introductions, but I don’t really care to learn any of your names. To put it in a sophisticated way... all of you guys are trash at first sight."

A ripple spread through the students, but none of them dared to say anything back. Most of them were still in shock that Caelen was actually talking back to them like that. What made it worse was that he had actually displayed a shocking amount of physical power.

Caelen smirked and then pointed at the well-dressed boy, the one who was the only C-rank in the class. "That one is the only one that’s still better."Full novel: The Academy's Villain Instructor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Inwardly, he was sneering. ’If this was during my training back on Earth, then I would just set that boy up as everyone’s goal. In the end, the class would kill him as they all wanted something to prove to me. Unfortunately, I don’t know their potential yet. So, I don’t want to waste the only C-rank. Right... I still don’t know the type of powers this world has and the rules. I should learn that.’

Caelen nodded as if to himself. "You will all have a chance to prove yourselves in the future. I hope you don’t disappoint, or else I’ll cripple you myself."

With that warning, he turned to the blackboard and picked up something that looked like a stone but wrote like chalk. Caelen spoke as he wrote. "Since today is to be a casual class and all of you have no other classes anyway because I, your Mentor Instructor, did not assign any, we will talk about general things."

With a flourish, he wrote on the blackboard:

"Our World!"

Caelen turned to face the room and then casually pointed at the standing Alina. "By the way, that’s Alina. She’s the class Captain from now on, and that brings the privilege of getting first priority from me in this class. And outside-class teaching as well. If you want her job, then you just have to beat her into submission and take it."

Most of the students were just confused. What did they need first priority from Caelen for? What value could Caelen provide them? The notion itself was funny, but at the moment, none of them dared to laugh.

Besides, didn’t they know what it meant for someone like Alina to be directly in their Instructor’s sight?

They looked at Alina with pity, and even the girl herself seemed to be on the edge of crying.

Caelen smiled, but he wasn’t disappointed. In the future, he knew they would remember his words and the weight they carried. You are reading on g.com, the official source.

"You," Caelen pointed randomly. "Tell us about..."

His memory came to the rescue.

"...Essence Path. Tell us how we get our power and strength. Tell us its history."

Before, if the former Caelen had asked the question, then they would have simply ignored him because they knew he was just joking around. But now, even though they did not know what he was doing, they had seen how he brutalized those students, so everyone was doing their best not to get kicked in the head.

What made it even harder for them was that Caelen suddenly didn’t look like someone they could beat anymore. He was slowly becoming frightening.

The boy opened his mouth and began speaking. His face had a scholarly look, and there was light in his eyes as he spoke. He seemed to enjoy the topic.

Caelen had not picked him so randomly. He knew the scholarly type when he saw one. Unfortunately for the boy and most scholarly types, they were usually the first to die during his trainings.

"Before, our world was devoid of essence. It was a world of ordinary mortals with not even a shred of power. But roughly three thousand years ago, all of that changed.

"Something crashed into the center of our world. A divine being. A god! The mere presence of this god caused the sky to fall and the ground to slide. Natural disasters ravaged the land, and entire cities of people that were close to this being instantly fell into madness!"

The boy paused, his eyes still lighting up with passion. "Then, unexpectedly, the god died, and everything changed. Boundless essence instantly flowed into the world. Strange things began to happen. Wilderness appeared with monsters, and the world was changed forever." This chapter was copied from novelping . com without permission.

Caelen was listening with focused attention because he was also interested in it. And as the boy went on about the history, his memories about it began to update as if he were remembering.

"...After the god died and all those strange things were happening, those who were braver saw an opportunity, and they went to the body of this god. They shared the god between them and devoured him!"

The room seemed to shudder slightly, and even Caelen had a slightly solemn look on his face. It seemed this was the single most important historical event in the world’s history.

The boy continued. "Those who ate the different types of body parts of the god are called Scions, and they went on to create the Essence Path for their families, Clans, or factions! In this world, they are the only immortals!"

Caelen nodded. His brain was already refreshed, and he had even gained additional information, such as what the Essence Path was.

He also gleaned the fact that his family was also one of these Scion families, but their Scion was already dead. Which was exactly why the Seradon family was on a downhill!

Caelen’s eyes narrowed as he realized that things weren’t that simple.

He suddenly turned around and sneered at the scholarly boy. "They are the only immortals in the world? Then why was one of them killed not so long ago?"

The boy stammered, but Caelen cut him off. "Shut up! What do you know? Hey, pretty boy, why don’t you answer that?"

The boy Caelen was referring to was the one who was actually C-rank.

How could Caelen not tell that the boy who looked like a ’Young Master’ and just so happened to be his new student among piles of trash must be there for some agenda?
