Alpha Kingsley POV

I carried her gently and steadily as I moved toward my chambers.

She was hurt, and when I rushed in like that, I must have scared her.Full novel: The Alpha King’s Plus Size Mate — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The sudden entrance probably startled her and caused her more pain.

My wolf groaned in my head.

“You caused her to get hurt,” he said.

It wasn’t intentional.

Seeing her in another man’s arms had caused something inside me to snap.

I don’t even know what it was.

Jealousy.

Anger.

Possessiveness.

Wrath.

It felt like someone was holding something precious to me and trying to take it away.

My primal instinct had just kicked in.

“Don’t act like a saint, Argon. You were furious too,” I replied.

“You scared her, not me,” he argued, shifting the blame to me.

I ignored him and continued walking.

When I reached my chambers, I kicked the door open and walked inside.

All the while she lay silently in my arms, her head resting on my chest, her hands wrapped around my waist.

She inhaled slowly from time to time, as if trying to memorize my scent.

Her own scent was setting my body on fire.

Heat pooled between my legs.

The closeness of our bodies wasn’t helping either.

I walked to the bed and gently laid her down.

Turning around, I opened the drawer beside the bed and brought out ointment, balm, and a bandage.

I sat beside her and began applying the ointment carefully, massaging her ankle.

She winced in pain as I pressed the swollen area, but she clenched her teeth, refusing to cry or show weakness.

I admired her resilience quietly.

Strong.

Stubborn.

Enduring.

I finished applying the balm and wrapped the bandage around her ankle, securing it with a firm knot.

When I looked up, she was staring at me with a look I couldn’t fully understand.

Bewildered.

Confused.

Conflicted.

And something else… something deeper.

“Why were you hugging him?” I asked, placing emphasis on him.

I refused to call his name.

Petty?

Yes.

I am petty when I’m pissed.

She tilted her head slightly, and a slow smirk formed on her lips.

“Are you jealous?” she asked.

Something snapped inside me.

Before I could stop myself, I leaned forward and captured her lips.

My mouth claimed hers.

I devoured her.

Merciless.

Dominant.

Possessive.

I poured every ounce of frustration and anger into that kiss.

My hands moved on their own, exploring her body, touching her sensitive spots as if marking territory.

She was shocked at first, stiff under my sudden force.

But then she relaxed, slowly melting into the kiss.

She tried to keep up with me, but her inexperience betrayed her.

Her efforts were clumsy, almost innocent.

Cute.

I almost smiled through the kiss as my anger slowly eased, but I didn’t stop.

My tongue pushed past her lips, tasting her, exploring her deeply as I sucked and kissed her harder.

She tasted like vanilla and chocolate — maybe leftover from breakfast, maybe just her natural taste.

I didn’t care.

I was too lost in the moment to think clearly.

A sharp moan escaped her lips as her hands wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer.

I broke the kiss and moved to her neck, licking and kissing slowly.

More moans and soft gasps left her mouth.

My right hand found the soft curves on her chest, squeezing gently and drawing more sweet sounds from her lips.

They were firm — not too big, not too small.

Perfect.

Full and tempting.

My other hand moved to the other side, massaging slowly while my mouth traced kisses down her neck to her shoulders.

Her legs pressed tightly together as she moaned under my touch.

Argon growled excitedly inside me.

His primal urge fed mine, pushing me to go faster.

Her hands explored my chest and muscles, and I groaned softly.

There was something about her touch — something different.

It awakened parts of me no other woman ever had.

I was losing myself in her.

My hands moved to undo her clothes.

I needed to feel her skin against mine.

I needed our heat to collide.

I needed to feel her completely.

Argon kept groaning inside my head.

He was just as desperate.

But then—”Knock.

Knock.

Knock.”

The sound hit the door.

I ignored it at first, continuing as my hands slipped her top off.

Then the knock came again, louder and more urgent.

“Alpha…”

Andrew’s voice.

I froze.

Argon growled in anger.

I sighed in frustration and pulled away, covering her properly with the duvet.

“I will be back shortly,” I whispered.

“Hmmm,” she responded softly, her face flushed red from everything that had just happened.

She looked shy, her lips slightly swollen.

Beautiful.

I stood up, fixing my clothes properly before walking to the door.

When I opened it, I looked at Andrew with a hard frown.

“Let’s talk in my study. It better be something worth your rude interruption,” I said coldly, already walking toward my office.

It was on the same floor as my chambers.

Andrew stood there, confused, clearly unaware of what he had interrupted.

After a few seconds, he raised his hands in frustration and hurried after me.
