There was a man and a woman standing outside the door. The man was in his fifties, with graying hair and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. His hair was neatly groomed, and he had the appearance of a respectable, upright gentleman.

The woman was in her twenties, tall and slender, with fair skin, almond-shaped eyes, and willow-shaped eyebrows.

They were none other than Ye Xin’s father-in-law and his mistress!Full novel: The Apocalypse Arrives: The Full-Time Stay-at-Home Mom Wins by Stockpiling Supplies and Taking It Easy — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

When Ye Xin saw the two of them through the peephole, she was stunned.

How did they get here? Weren’t they in City B?

Oh, right!

That old woman had mentioned that their seaside villa seemed to have been struck by lightning!

When Ye Xin’s mother saw her daughter’s constantly changing expression, she curiously looked through the peephole as well.

Ye Xin immediately grabbed her and dragged her back to the sofa.

“Shh! Don’t make a sound. It’s my father-in-law and his mistress.”

Ye Xin’s mother widened her eyes.

“What are they here for?”

Ye Xin shook her head.

“Whatever it is, it can’t be anything good.”

At that moment, there was a knock on the door.

Ye Xin frowned and had no intention of paying them any attention.

But the knocking grew louder and more urgent. Even the family in Room 1803 couldn’t resist opening their door to see what was going on.

Ye Xin had no choice but to open the door. Her face was cold.

“What do you want?”

Her father-in-law, Gu Siyan, smiled.

“I heard you were staying here, so I happened to come upstairs with Xiaoyan to see you.”

Ye Xin glanced at the woman beside him.

The woman swayed her body at Ye Xin and even reached up to run her fingers through her long, wavy hair.

It made Ye Xin feel so disgusted that she almost vomited.

Why are you swaying your body like that? I’m not even a man!

“There’s no need for you to trouble yourself. From now on, I have nothing to do with you or the Gu family.”

With that, Ye Xin slammed the door shut.

Gu Siyan and the woman stared at each other outside.

Naturally, Gu Siyan refused to give up so easily and knocked on the door again.

“Xinxin, listen to me.”

“Xinxin, even if you’re angry with Gu Nan, Xuanyuan is still the Gu family’s grandson. At least let me see him once. Just once! Please?”

Ye Xin didn’t open the door. Instead, she shouted through it.

“Don’t worry. From now on, his name is Ye Yuxuan. He has nothing to do with the Gu family either.”

The knocking continued.

“Xinxin, I know you’re angry. If you’re angry, take it out on this old man. Xuanyuan is the only child of the Gu family’s generation. I was even planning to leave my company to him. Open the door, Xinxin!”

Ye Xin grabbed a baseball bat and opened the door. She pointed it at Gu Siyan’s nose and cursed.

“Get lost! Don’t bring your filthy family affairs here and disgrace my Ye family! Keep your company for yourself. We don’t want it!”

Seeing how aggressive Ye Xin was, the woman couldn’t hold back either.

She stepped out from behind Gu Siyan and pointed at Ye Xin’s nose.

“Don’t push your luck! You and Gu Nan haven’t even completed the divorce procedures yet! He’s still your father-in-law! Is this how you speak to your elders?”

Ye Xin was so angry that she laughed.

She tilted her head and sized up the woman.

“That’s exactly how I’m speaking. What are you going to do about it? And who do you think you are?”

“Oh, right! Should I record all of you and post it in the Gu family group chat?”

“Go ahead!”

As she spoke, Ye Xin pulled out her phone and prepared to record them.

Gu Siyan immediately pulled her behind him.

“Xinxin, let’s talk things out. I just want to see Xuanyuan.”

He craned his neck toward the inside.

“Xuanyuan… Xuanyuan… Grandpa came to see you.”

Xuanyuan didn’t come out.

Instead, Ye Xin’s father stepped out.

When he saw the woman behind Gu Siyan, his brows immediately furrowed.

“I say, in-laws, we’re all getting old. Could you at least have some shame? The child doesn’t want to see you, so just leave it at that.”

The woman suddenly said,

“That’s fine if he doesn’t want to see him. But he’s Xuanyuan’s grandfather, and Grandpa is hungry now. Surely a grandson should at least give his grandfather some food, right?”

So after all that, this was their real purpose!

Ye Xin thrust the baseball bat forward.

“Not a chance! Who isn’t struggling right now? It’s bad enough that you, as his grandfather, don’t help your grandson. And now you have the nerve to come begging your grandson for food? How shameless can you be?”

“Get out! If you don’t leave right now, don’t blame me for what happens next!”

The woman suddenly tried to dart into the apartment.

Ye Xin unceremoniously swung the baseball bat at her.

The woman cried out in pain and immediately crouched on the ground, unable to move.

“You… you’re nothing but a shrew!”

Gu Siyan was so furious that he could barely speak.

He reached down and helped the woman up.

“Let’s go. We’re going home. There’s no point arguing with this woman!”

When a person has absolutely no shame, they’re truly invincible.

Ye Xin had certainly learned something new today.

Su Jing poked her head out from Room 1802.

“Xinxin, are you okay? That shameless pair really has no dignity!”

Ye Xin shook her head, closed the door, and continued exercising.

Outside, the wind howled, as though it were about to crush the entire city.

Suddenly, Ye Xin’s mother cried out.

“Quick, look! What’s that?”

“Oh my God!”

Ye Xin rushed to the window.

In the eastern sky, there was a blurry shadow. It was spinning while rapidly moving forward.

Rainwater from the ground was being sucked into the air, connecting with the dark, gloomy sky. Wherever it passed, trees were uprooted one after another, then sucked inside, torn apart, and vanished into nothingness…

The shadow moved incredibly fast.

In the blink of an eye, it had reached the neighboring residential complex.

Ye Xin clearly saw it effortlessly lift a car from the ground and suck it into its swirling body. A moment later, the car was spat back out as twisted pieces of metal, scattering in all directions.

The metal fragments slammed into the windows.

Crash!

The glass shattered instantly, and moments later, the howling typhoon winds and torrential rain poured into the building.

The typhoon swept through Jinxiu Garden.

Ye Xin suddenly couldn’t see anything anymore!

All she could see outside the window was muddy rainwater covering the sky and earth. Black and white pieces of metal spun wildly through the air, accompanied from time to time by the sound of shattering glass and terrified screams.

Even the air pressure had changed!

Ye Xin felt an intense tightness in her chest, as though she could barely breathe.

In just half a minute, the tornado swept through Jinxiu Garden.

Ye Xin watched as it tore through the residential complex across the street before eventually dissipating into nothing in the distance.

Some windows were smashed, while refrigerators, washing machines, sofas, and other furniture were picked up by the tornado and hurled out of the windows!

Some residents didn’t have time to escape and were swept out of the windows along with their furniture, falling to their deaths in the floodwater below.

Wherever the tornado passed, cries of anguish filled the air.

Su Jing rushed out of her apartment and frantically pounded on Ye Xin’s door.

“Xinxin! Xinxin! Are you all okay?”

Ye Xin opened the door.

“I’m fine! Are you guys okay?”

There wasn’t a trace of color left in Su Jing’s face. She shook her head tremblingly.

“We’re fine! As long as you’re okay! As long as you’re okay!”

The man from Room 1803 also poked his head out. His face was pale as he looked at Su Jing and Ye Xin.

“Are both your families okay?”

Su Jing and Ye Xin nodded at the same time.

“We’re fine. What about you?”

The man’s face remained pale.

“We’re fine too, but my mother doesn’t seem to be doing well.”

“Mom! Mom!”

The man’s cries came from inside the apartment.

He didn’t even have time to close the door before rushing to his mother’s side. He firmly pressed the area beneath the elderly woman’s nose.

“Mom! Hang in there!”

Then he turned toward his wife and shouted,

“Huahua, hurry! Look through the medicine Mom brought. See which one can help!”

Ye Xin and Su Jing paused for a moment before following him into Room 1803.

The apartment was clean and neatly organized. At a glance, it was obvious that this family was very particular about cleanliness and order.

When the man saw Ye Xin and Su Jing, he urgently said,

“Do either of you have Suxiao Jiuxin Pills? Please lend us two pills. No! I’ll pay a high price to buy them!”
