Su Jing shook her head. “We don’t have any at home.”

There were only two young people living in her apartment—her and her boyfriend. Who would think to keep something like that on hand?

Su Jing didn’t even know what Suxiao Jiuxin Pills looked like.Full novel: The Apocalypse Arrives: The Full-Time Stay-at-Home Mom Wins by Stockpiling Supplies and Taking It Easy — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ye Xin’s mother came over shortly afterward and glanced at Ye Xin.

Ye Xin nodded at her.

Ye Xin’s mother turned around and went back to their apartment. A moment later, she returned to Room 1801.

“I have some nitroglycerin. Quickly, put it under her tongue.”

The man took the medicine from Ye Xin’s mother and immediately put it into his mother’s mouth.

Ye Xin’s mother pulled him aside.

“Move. Let me take a look!”

She took out a silver acupuncture needle and inserted it into one of the elderly woman’s acupuncture points.

Before long, the old woman slowly regained consciousness.

“Son? What happened to me?”

The 185-centimeter-tall man immediately burst into tears.

“Mom, you’re awake! Thank goodness you’re awake! It’s all thanks to this lady. She saved you.”

The old woman slowly moved her eyes and saw the silver acupuncture needle in Ye Xin’s mother’s hand. She immediately understood.

“Thank you, doctor!”

Ye Xin’s mother waved her hand.

“I’m no doctor. I just learned a few unconventional techniques from my father.”

“As long as the old lady is okay, that’s all that matters. We’ll head back now.”

When they returned home, Ye Xin’s mother let out a sigh.

“Weren’t we supposed to keep our abilities hidden? Why did you help them this time, Xinxin?”

Ye Xin remained silent for a moment.

“After this tornado swept through here, I’m afraid things won’t be peaceful anymore. If everyone on the eighteenth floor can band together, maybe life will be a little easier.”

There was a knock on the door.

It was the man from Room 1803 again.

He was holding six eggs and several apples.

“With this terrible weather, we don’t have much food stored at home either. These are just a small token of our gratitude.”

“I know these things can’t possibly compare to you saving my mother’s life, but this is the best we can offer right now.”

His eyes were firm, and his attitude was sincere.

At a time like this, supplies were far more useful than money. Apparently, this man understood that.

Ye Xin didn’t stand on ceremony and accepted the food.

She reminded him, “The tornado damaged quite a few homes. I’m afraid things won’t be peaceful from now on.”

The man nodded.

“If you need anything, just call out. We live close to each other, so we should help and look out for one another.”

“Oh, right. A couple of days ago, I went out and found a door lock. I’m returning it to you.”

Seeing the new lock in his hand, Ye Xin was stunned.

“Just give us the old lock back.”

The man smiled.

“They work the same way! Yours is still the original one, and the quality isn’t bad.”

His meaning was obvious—he wanted to deal with them honestly and openly.

Ye Xin didn’t refuse and accepted the new lock.

She couldn’t help thinking to herself.

I specifically rented the top floor because I wanted some peace and quiet. Who would have thought my ex-father-in-law would also be living in this building? He comes upstairs every day looking for trouble. What a headache!

If only there were a way to make sure he couldn’t even knock on my security door!

Then she remembered that the electricity had already been cut off.

Ye Xin returned home, pulled out some electrical wires, and connected electricity to her security door.

After thinking about it, she knocked on her neighbors’ doors and Su Jing’s door as well, telling them what she had done so they wouldn’t accidentally get electrocuted without knowing.

As for the neighbors downstairs, Ye Xin thought about it and decided to stick a note on her door that read:

“Beware of Electric Shock.”

She had already done her duty by warning them.

At that moment, Jinxiu Garden was filled with cries of misery.

Many windows had been damaged, and rainwater had flooded numerous apartments.

Some people had it even worse. Not only was rain pouring in through their windows, but their upper floors had been flooded, and water was leaking down through their ceilings!

Some residents took out their phones and posted photos asking for help:

“My home has turned into a water cave! What are we supposed to do? Does anyone have a way to help us?”

Others posted:

“We’re doomed! My phone is about to run out of battery! Does anyone have solar panels? Can you lend us some electricity?”

Still others cried for help:

“Help! We don’t have any food at home, and now even our refrigerator and sofa are gone! We have elderly people and children at home. Can some kind-hearted person please save us?”

What a joke!

The typhoon was howling outside, and the floodwater was more than a meter deep. Who would dare risk going outside?

Who would be foolish enough to waste their own precious food reserves to save someone else?

Perhaps they really had nothing left to eat.

Ye Xin saw a man paddle out of his home on a door panel!

The door panel had clearly been modified. A strip of leather had been fastened all the way around its edges. The man could sit inside without having his paddling obstructed, making it much more stable than an ordinary door panel.

Ye Xin watched as he struggled desperately against the wind and rain. After half an hour, he still hadn’t managed to paddle even three meters!

The man seemed to grow anxious. He stood up and began paddling with all his strength.

But the typhoon was simply too powerful!

The moment he stood up, a powerful gust knocked him off balance!

He fell onto the door panel, causing it to suddenly lose its balance and flip over, dumping him into the water.

The man struggled to surface and tried to grab the door panel again, but the typhoon had already blown it away!

He reached out, but his hands grasped nothing.

Ye Xin watched helplessly as he struggled in the violent wind and rain for another half hour before gradually sinking beneath the floodwaters.

Going outside in weather like this was practically asking to die!

But if there was still food left at home, who would willingly risk their life by going outside?

Just then, someone downstairs began shouting and cursing.

“Who the hell is still flushing their toilet? I’ll curse your entire family for eight generations!”

“My house is already flooded with rainwater, and now the ceiling is leaking too! Just when I thought at least the bathroom wasn’t leaking, the toilet has started overflowing with shit!”

“People upstairs, have some decency! With things like this, stop flushing the toilets! Whoever is flushing, I’ll curse your entire family for eight generations!”

The man was a resident on the third floor. It seemed the drainage system had already reached its limit.

Ye Xin stayed inside and busied herself making delicious food.

With the wind and rain so intense, even a little smell could easily be blown away. She would have to become increasingly careful about cooking in the future.

Ye Xin’s mother poked her head out of the kitchen.

“Xinxin, do you have any gas cylinders? Why do I feel like the gas pressure is so low? Is the gas supply about to be cut off?”

Her mother’s words reminded Ye Xin of something.

She had forgotten to stock up on gas cylinders!

She entered her space to check. There were only two gas cylinders inside, and one of them was an old cylinder from their hometown that was nearly empty.

If the gas cylinder at their old home hadn’t been nearly empty—and if she hadn’t bought a new one to replace it—she wouldn’t have had any reserves at all!

There was electricity at home now, so she could use an induction cooker as a substitute. But what would happen after they had to leave this apartment?

She absolutely had to have enough gas!

Ye Xin secretly decided that once the typhoon stopped, the first thing she would do was get some gas cylinders.

She took out her tablet and first located the gas station in City A.

Listening to the howling typhoon outside, Ye Xin began planning her supply run.

The large supermarkets nearby definitely couldn’t be overlooked. That would be her first stop. She had to make a sweep while everyone else was still caught off guard.

Then there was the gas station. It was 4.8 kilometers from here—not exactly close!

There was a gas station near it, and next to the gas station was a building-materials yard. None of these places could be missed.

If she moved quickly, she could probably finish everything in a single day.

Then there were the medicines.

The nearest municipal hospital was only 3.5 kilometers away. Naturally, it had to be one of her top priorities.

She just didn’t know whether the pharmacy on the first floor had been flooded, or how much medicine had survived.

There was also the office building her mother had mentioned, the one where many pharmaceutical sales representatives worked. She believed she could get quite a lot of medicine there as well.

In the future, medicine would become an extremely scarce commodity.

Aside from zombie crystals, which would become the universal currency, medicine would be even more highly sought after.

Those wealthy and powerful people were often in poor health. As long as you had medicine, you could basically exchange it for almost any kind of supplies.

Around one in the afternoon, Ye Xin planned to take a nap.

Suddenly, she heard Su Jing crying for help.

“Help! You bastard!”
