Тhе scene bеforе hеr felt familiаr to Yin En Yu.

Нer mеmоriеs rewоund, as if returning tо a cеrtаin аfternoon when he suddenly aррeared at hеr sсhool gatе, hоlding a bouquet of flowers to pick her up after class.

Back then, she would run toward him without hesitation, joyfully throwing herself into his arms, looking up with a beaming smile to ask:

“What brings you here?”

And he, his eyes brimming with laughter and filled with her reflection, would gently stroke her head, lower his face, and plant a kiss on her crown. “I didn’t have classes this afternoon, so I came to pick up my girlfriend.”

He would ask with concern about her day, and she would share everything unreservedly.

Lost in her thoughts, Yin En Yu had unknowingly walked up to He Yu Zhou.

She halted her wandering mind and looked up at him. “Did I leave something in your car?”

She hadn’t brought a bag when she went out today, so she probably hadn’t forgotten anything.

He Yu Zhou glanced at her, reached into the car, picked up a bag from the passenger seat, and handed it to her. “For you.”

Through the transparent bag, Yin En Yu could see the contents clearly. “Medicine?”

“If your throat is bothering you, take medicine promptly,” He Yu Zhou said, his thin lips parting. “Don’t let it drag on and get worse.”

“Take better care of your health.”

His tone sounded stiff, but it was clear there was concern behind it.

He had left the residential area intending to return to the company, but the memory of her occasional light coughs in the car suddenly surfaced in his mind. So, he changed his route and went to a nearby pharmacy.

Yin En Yu held the bag in her hand, feeling as if something had struck her heart.

She could tell that He Yu Zhou had been sulking on the way home.

Even now, his anger probably hadn’t completely dissipated, yet he still went to buy medicine for her.

That was just like him. Even when they disagreed or bickered, he never spoke harshly to her, not even raising his voice.

All his patience was reserved for her. He would still care for and look after her, just with a cold expression to let her know he was upset.

He Yu Zhou had no idea what she was thinking. He waved a hand in front of her face. “They’re all granules. Ask the auntie at home to brew them for you.”

She couldn’t swallow pills or tablets.

Yin En Yu agreed. “Okay.”

He Yu Zhou continued to remind her, “Remember to drink it while it’s hot.”

It was a common occurrence for her to forget to drink the medicine even after it was brewed and handed to her.

When he was around, he could at least keep an eye on her.

Yin En Yu replied, “I will.”

After breaking up with him, whenever she caught a cold, no one would remind her to take her medicine anymore.

He Yu Zhou was skeptical of her words but didn’t press further. “Then hurry inside. I’ll be going now.”

“Okay,” Yin En Yu tightened her grip on the bag.

This time, He Yu Zhou stood by the car, watching her go inside before driving away.

In the living room, Aunt Yu saw Yin En Yu entering with a bag of medicine and immediately approached to ask, “Miss, are you feeling unwell somewhere?””It’s fine, please go ahead with your work.” Yin En Yu walked to the water bar counter, took out the medicine from the bag, and then paused slightly in her movements.

Besides the medicine, there was also a box of preserved plums.

This was a small habit of hers—after taking medicine, she always liked to have a preserved plum in her mouth to ease the bitterness.

What was even more thoughtful was that, without her needing to check the instructions, the dosage and usage were already written on the box.

This kind of consideration was all too familiar to Yin En Yu. No one else would be so meticulous and thoughtful except He Yu Zhou.

Her heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a wave of guilt washed over her. She had hurt him, yet he was still so good to her.

Feeling somewhat dazed, Yin En Yu brewed herself a cup of medicine. Just as she sat down on the sofa, her phone rang again.

Two simple and clear words—

He Yu Zhou: 【Take your medicine.】

Seeing his message, Yin En Yu glanced around. Had he installed a surveillance camera around her?

She picked up the cup, slowly drank the medicine, opened the camera, took a photo of the empty cup, and sent it to He Yu Zhou.

【Taken.】

Just as Yin En Yu was about to put down her phone, thinking he wouldn’t reply, the screen lit up again.

He Yu Zhou: 【Mm.】

Seeing this, a thought suddenly crossed Yin En Yu’s mind—was he still remembering that she didn’t like being the one to end the conversation in a chat?

Looking back at their past chat history, it was clear that every conversation ended with He Yu Zhou’s message.

As if to test this theory, she replied to him—

【Oh.】

He Yu Zhou: 【Too much medicine?】

Yin En Yu pursed her lips in annoyance and sent him a string of ellipses.

He Yu Zhou imitated her and replied: 【Oh.】

Yin En Yu stopped trying to figure out what he was thinking. She picked up a preserved plum from the table and ate one. It was perfectly sweet and sour—just the flavor she liked.
