Сhаpter 25: Rеunitеd?
Тhе nеxt day, whеn Yin Еn Yu camе downstairs, hеr аssistаnt hаd аlrеadу аrrivеd аt her homе.
“Yu Yu, when did you get hеrе? Why didn’t уоu соmе up аnd саll me?” Yin En Yu wаlkеd ovеr to the watеr bar in hеr slippers аnd pоured hеrsеlf a cuр of hot watеr.
Yu Yu rерliеd with a smile, “I just аrrivеd nоt lоng ago. I wаnted tо let yоu sleeр a little lоnger.”
Unlike her, hеr bоss сouldn’t fаll аsleep аs soоn аs her heаd hit the pillоw. So, unlеss it wаs аn emеrgencу, she wouldn’t disturb hеr slееp.
Yin En Yu sat down beside her with the wаtеr cup and askеd аffirmatively, “Is thеrе work?”
Although she had said she wanted to take a break for a while, it only meant there were no solo concert arrangements. Other work still came in, more or less.
Yu Yu nodded quickly, picked up the tablet on the table, and began, “Many internationally renowned brands have extended invitations, hoping to have you as their brand ambassador.”
“I know you won’t accept any form of endorsement collaboration, so I’ve declined them all for you.”
Abroad, countless brands had also vied to extend olive branches to her, but without exception, all were declined.
It could be said that her commercial value even surpassed that of some top-tier celebrities.
Yin En Yu took a small sip of the warm water in her cup and had no objection to her assistant’s approach.
Yu Yu flipped through the tablet pages and continued, “There are also several influential media organizations inviting you for an exclusive interview, and some talent shows hoping to have you as a judge…”
Numerous work invitations had been sent her way, all opportunities countless people would fight tooth and nail for. But after listening, Yin En Yu declined them all.
She didn’t lack exposure, nor did she lack money.
Yu Yu closed the tablet, beaming, “Then there’s no work left. Boss, you can continue resting.”
“There is work.” Yin En Yu took a peach from the fruit platter and handed it to her, saying leisurely, “The foundation will organize a charity gala at the end of this month.”
This was something she had just confirmed last night with the foundation’s chairperson.
The Yvonne Art Foundation, named after her English name, had been established for five years, dedicated to supporting children with amblyopia and promoting music education…
Half of the proceeds from each of her performances were also donated.
Yu Yu proactively took on the task, “Is there anything you need me to do?”
Yin En Yu thought for a moment, “Not at the moment.”
“If there’s anything requiring your help, the person in charge will call you.”
“Got it.” After finishing the serious matters, Yu Yu began eating the fruit Yin En Yu had given her.
Yin En Yu had nothing to do in the morning. After breakfast, she went upstairs to the piano room to practice.
The piano room was magnificent, every inch of space imbued with an elegant artistic atmosphere. Sunlight from outside streamed through the French lattice windows, casting a warm, gentle glow on the white piano standing quietly in the center.
On the pristine walls, priceless murals hung in an orderly arrangement. A few stems of starry freesias were placed in the embossed vase on the table, emitting a delicate fragrance.
Yin En Yu sat upright before the piano, wearing a feather-white one-shoulder knit top paired with a matching fishtail skirt. Even her hair seemed to glow, gentle and captivating.
Moments later, melodious piano music drifted softly from the room.
Outside the door, Yu Yu watched the person inside. Even though she spent every day with her boss, she was still captivated by her beauty and charm. She couldn’t resist taking out her phone, aiming it at Yin En Yu who was playing the piano, and snapped two photos.
She also posted them on her social media feed for some promotion—
【Truly the most beautiful pianist! (heart eyes) (drooling)】
Yin En Yu spent the entire morning in the piano room. When she got tired, she would stand up and stretch, pick a book from the bookshelf, and lazily lie on the recliner to flip through it.
Unlike the tranquil and cozy atmosphere around her, He Yu Zhou had back-to-back meetings all morning without a moment’s break.
It wasn’t until noon that he finally got some rest.
Exhausted, he sank into the sofa and glanced at his phone.
Seeing the red notification dot on his social media feed, he inexplicably tapped into it. The first post that caught his eye was a photo of Yin En Yu.
He Yu Zhou opened it and zoomed in, his dark eyes swirling with layers of emotion.
At the moment he saw her photo, all the fatigue from his morning instantly vanished.
He Yu Zhou saved the photo and even gave it a like, deliberately leaving a trace.
At the Yin family home, Yu Yu exclaimed from the dining room, “Boss, Mr. He liked my post!”
Yin En Yu looked puzzled, “Hmm?”
He Yu Zhou giving her a like—since when did he become so active?
“Wait, I mean he liked the post about you,” Yu Yu placed her phone next to Yin En Yu. “I took two photos of you and posted them on my feed.”
Yin En Yu glanced sideways at it—they were perfectly normal photos.
Her assistant knew the boundaries of what could and couldn’t be posted.
Yu Yu’s contact information had been given to He Yu Zhou by Yin En Yu herself.
Sometimes, when she was practicing the piano or had a performance and couldn’t check her phone, He Yu Zhou would contact her assistant directly to relay messages to her.
“The photos are quite nice,” Yin En Yu handed the phone back to her.
“It’s because you’re beautiful, boss,” Yu Yu praised sincerely.
Yin En Yu smiled faintly, “Stop flattering me and hurry up with your meal.”
In his office, He Yu Zhou held his phone, waiting for a few minutes, but the message he was hoping for never arrived.
His impatient nature made him restless, so he decided to take the initiative.
While eating, Yin En Yu saw a message pop up on her phone screen and suddenly had a feeling it would be from He Yu Zhou.
She put down her utensils and checked—
He Yu Zhou: 【Did you throw away the piano I gave you?】
Attached were the two photos Yu Yu had posted on her social media feed.
Yin En Yu’s lowered eyelids flickered with surprise—his focus was actually on that.
Yin En Yu: 【No.】
She had kept every gift he gave her in perfect condition.
The person on the other end seemed skeptical of her words: 【Take a photo as proof.】
Yin En Yu: 【I’ll take one for you after I finish eating.】
After three seconds, He Yu Zhou sent her a completely unrelated message: 【I haven’t eaten yet.】
Yin En Yu: “…”
【Then go eat now, or have your assistant order something for you.】
He Yu Zhou: 【My assistant doesn’t know my preferences.】
At this point, Yin En Yu understood—it wasn’t that his assistant didn’t know his preferences; he clearly wanted her to bring him lunch.
Sure enough, another message from him popped up:
【Since your bag is still here with me, why not come pick it up now and bring me some lunch along the way?】
Yin En Yu sighed helplessly. Who was it that said he would personally deliver it to her yesterday?
Besides, she really had something to do this afternoon, and the time was already set.
Yin En Yu: 【But I have to go to the foundation later to discuss some matters. I won’t have enough time.】After sending the message, it sank like a stone into the sea, silent and without a trace.
Yin En Yu waited for a moment but still received no reply from the other end. Just as she was about to turn off her phone, it suddenly vibrated.
He Yu Zhou: 【You’re busy.】
He Yu Zhou: 【Let your ex-boyfriend starve to death, then.】
It was a tone of passive-aggressiveness that couldn’t be hidden even through the screen.
Yin En Yu suddenly laughed. Where was the slightest trace of his usual arrogance and pride now?
Her fingers tapped slowly on the screen: 【I’ll order food for you on my phone, okay?】
He Yu Zhou: 【Barely acceptable.】
Yin En Yu’s smile deepened. He was acting reluctant now.
Exiting the chat with him, she selected one of the restaurants they used to frequent the most.
Beside her, Yu Yu, who was almost full, noticed her boss still staring at her phone and couldn’t help but remind her, “Boss, hurry up and eat. The food is getting cold.”
“Okay.” Yin En Yu’s fingers slid across the screen. “I’ll order lunch for He Yu Zhou first.”
Hearing the name “He Yu Zhou,” Yu Yu froze for a moment. Combined with the radiant smile on her boss’s face while looking at her phone earlier, she seemed to have guessed something.
She stared intently at Yin En Yu.
After completing the payment, Yin En Yu put down her phone and waved a hand in front of Yu Yu’s eyes. “What’s wrong?”
Yu Yu leaned in slightly and tentatively asked, “Boss, have you and President He gotten back together?”
Honestly, since her boss and President He broke up, she hadn’t seen her boss genuinely happy for a long time.
Although she still smiled when talking to others, it always felt like she was suppressing many things inside.
During that time, her days were filled with classes, practicing the piano, and holding concerts, leaving no room for herself to catch a breath.
Yu Yu had worried about her overworking herself and repeatedly urged her to take a break, but it was no use.
Yin En Yu’s eyes flickered slightly, a mix of surprise and confusion. “No.”
“Why would you ask that?”
Yu Yu hesitated for a few seconds before slowly voicing her intuitive feeling. “I just feel like, since coming back and seeing President He, you seem a little happier than before.”
Yin En Yu pursed her lips, her thoughts swirling, neither confirming nor denying it.
