“Fine, you can sleep with me.”

Wen Moci shot him a glare and lowered his head to drink his soup.

Who wants to sleep with you? When I first met him, I never would have guessed he was like this—so unreliable.Full novel: The Big Shot Tricked Me Into a Flash Marriage, and Now I’m Pampered and Spoiled — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Why the sudden urge to come home with me?” Zhou Yi asked after settling the bill and returning.

“My parents are back now, so the whole family is definitely fawning over my little sister-in-law. No one’s paying attention to me. Might as well go to your place and avoid their nagging.” Wen Moci wiped his mouth, not seeing anything wrong with what Zhou Yi had said.

Ning Weiying felt sleepy after eating. She hadn’t been fully awake that morning to begin with, and after playing all morning, her energy was long gone.

Mrs. Zhou was tired too—she’d been on a plane all night and needed to properly adjust to the time difference.

The two women lay sleeping in their respective husbands’ arms.

Wen Yu touched her forehead, worried she might run a fever again.

He took her temperature before he felt at ease enough to hold her and sleep.

Wen Yu woke up at two in the afternoon. Ning Weiying was still asleep in his arms, her little face pressed against his chest, both small hands clutching one of his arms, her lips slightly parted as she breathed—fast asleep.

Wen Yu shifted slightly and kissed her twice, then reached for his laptop to handle some work. The moment he pulled his arm out a little, Ning Weiying started whimpering, as if her dependence on him was instinctive. “Don’t go, don’t go,” she said, tugging his arm back into her embrace.

Wen Yu’s heart softened instantly. He set the laptop aside, lifted her by the armpits, and settled her on his chest to sleep. Wen Yu reclined halfway against the headboard while Ning Weiying lay sprawled on top of him, both arms wrapped around his waist, one pale, fair leg draped over his thigh.

Wen Yu held her and patted her gently, his other hand tapping away at the laptop.

Mrs. Zhou woke up at three and insisted that Father Wen bake her egg tarts. She’d been like that since she was young—she needed dessert after her afternoon nap. After marrying Father Wen, she was even more spoiled.

“Mmm.” A very soft sound. Ning Weiying cracked her eyes open slightly. Wen Yu was focused on his work and didn’t notice she was awake, but his big hand patted her back.

Ning Weiying lifted her flushed little face and could just see Wen Yu’s exquisite profile. Her husband was so handsome.

Wen Yu felt a gaze fixed on him. He glanced down absentmindedly and met her eyes directly. Ning Weiying had just woken up, her eyes glistening and dewy, a few strands of soft hair clinging to her face.

Wen Yu reached out and brushed the unruly strands aside, then cupped her face, gently tilted it up, and kissed her lips.

Ning Weiying blinked, then closed her eyes. Wen Yu held her and kissed her for a long time. By the time he released her, she realized she’d somehow been pressed beneath him, her arms looped around his neck.

Ning Weiying gasped for breath. Wen Yu rested his forehead against hers, his eyes bloodshot. He was trying his utmost to restrain himself, but facing his precious darling, he simply couldn’t control it.

“Husband~, what’s wrong with you?” Ning Weiying called out to him in a sweet, coquettish voice. What was the matter with him? Why was his breathing so heavy?

Wen Yu cursed inwardly. How could she call him like that? It drove him crazy.

That one “husband” shattered his last line of defense.

The moment she finished speaking, her lips were sealed again. “Mmm, no—” she wanted to say “don’t,” but fear began to creep in. He kissed her fiercely, invading her like a wild beast. Wen Yu was nearly biting at her lips. Ning Weiying winced in pain and started sobbing softly.

Hearing her cries, Wen Yu released her, wrapped his arms around her, and gently soothed her.

“Baby, help me, okay?” Wen Yu’s voice was hoarse. He was at his limit, but he couldn’t—her injury hadn’t healed yet.

Ning Weiying was stunned. Although she knew how to help, she never expected those words to come out of his mouth.

Wen Yu took one of her hands and slowly guided it downward. Ning Weiying stopped thinking, her eyes staring blankly at him. Wen Yu wrapped his arm around her and turned her over so she was lying on top of him—this way it was easier for her.

His hand enveloped hers, moving together, then he released her hand.

“That’s right, just like that, baby~” Wen Yu’s voice was laced with desire as he kissed her face randomly—pecking her lips, then her cheeks, unable to get enough of her.

Ning Weiying was frozen in place, doing whatever Wen Yu told her to do, as if she had lost consciousness.

It wasn’t until Wen Yu finished that Ning Weiying looked at what was on her hand and burst into aggrieved tears. How could he do this to her?

“Wah wah wah, you’re bad, you’re a bad guy!” Ning Weiying cried and scolded him, pouting her little lips, looking utterly pitiful.

Wen Yu sighed and carried her to the bathroom. Why was she crying already? He hadn’t even done anything to her yet.

“Okay, okay, stop crying. Your husband is wrong, your husband is wrong, alright?” Wen Yu humbled himself to coax her while washing her hands.

The girl turned her head away, refusing to look at him. She was angry, and the consequences would be severe.

Wen Yu dried her hands, but she was still puffing her cheeks and sobbing. “Be good, don’t cry. Your husband will take you out to play, okay, hm?”

Ning Weiying refused: “No, I want to go downstairs to find Mom.”

“Mom~” Ning Weiying called out sweetly.

“Sweetheart, why did you wake up so late?” Mrs. Zhou held her hand.

“Is it late?”

“It’s already five o’clock.” Mrs. Zhou pulled her close and whispered in her ear, “Did Wen Yu bully you again?”

Ning Weiying had woken up around four, and after all that fussing, it was now five.

Ning Weiying’s face flushed slightly as she whispered, “No, Mom. I was just tired and slept a bit longer.”

Mrs. Zhou stared at her for a moment. She was a woman of experience, so she could naturally tell.

“That’s good then. Mom baked some egg tarts—come eat.” Mrs. Zhou pushed the egg tarts in front of her.

“Wow, Mom, you can make egg tarts!” Ning Weiying picked one up and ate it happily. She loved sweets the most.

Father Wen: As long as the wife is happy!

Father Wen had already started preparing dinner in the kitchen. There was one more person eating tonight, so he had to cook more dishes.

Father Wen now regretted it whenever he thought about it—why did he have a second child? He had been too confident, thinking it would be a daughter, but it turned out to be another son. He had wanted to abandon him back then; the kid was too mischievous. But he looked so much like his wife, so he held back and kept him.

Mrs. Zhou and Ning Weiying played games while eating egg tarts.

“Dad, Mom, I’m back.”

This had always been Wen Moci’s good point since childhood—no matter where he went to play, he would always come home on time for dinner.

So this was something Father Wen and Mrs. Zhou were quite at ease about. When he was little, he had bodyguards, but by age ten he could go out on his own without fear of being snatched by traffickers.

In fourth grade, he came home from school one day with someone in tow. Mrs. Zhou asked who it was, and he said it was a trafficker—he’d brought him home.

Later, Mrs. Zhou asked him how he managed it. He said he was in the same line of work, following adults to deceive children, and added that he had swindled quite a few people already. He told her to come along and take a look, saying he could even share a few with her. The trafficker, clearly a newcomer to the trade, followed him eagerly without a second thought, only to be caught completely off guard and turned the tables on.
