Wen Moci was still sitting obediently at the dining table. Normally, he would have started eating by now, but not today—his sister-in-law was having her first meal at home, and he couldn’t be rude.

Wen Moci watched as Wen Yu walked over holding Ning Weiying’s hand. He stared at the two of them in shock—what a perfect match they made. Wen Yu was wearing a black shirt with dress pants, sleeves rolled up to reveal a pale, powerful forearm with clearly visible veins. And that figure—broad shoulders, narrow waist, long legs. Damn, that body was enough to make anyone drool.

Then he looked at his sister-in-law. A delicate little face, fair with a rosy glow, big sparkling eyes that were clear and bright, long lashes, hair tied up in a low bun, wearing a light pink fairy dress. An absolute little fairy. He glanced back at his brother—tsk, an old cow eating tender grass.Full novel: The Big Shot Tricked Me Into a Flash Marriage, and Now I’m Pampered and Spoiled — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Brother, sister-in-law,” Wen Moci called out. Wen Yu led Ning Weiying to sit across from Wen Moci. She looked at the dining table—so many dishes, and they smelled amazing. Heehee, who knew this man could cook? Ahhh, this marriage didn’t seem like such a bad deal after all.

She took a quick survey: braised prawns, sweet and sour ribs, stir-fried broccoli, spicy boneless chicken feet, and a tomato beef brisket soup—basically all her favorites.

Her eyes lit up at the sight of the chicken feet. Wen Yu noticed and moved the dish closer to her side. Ning Weiying shot Wen Moci an apologetic look—sorry, buddy. Wen Moci stared intently at the chicken feet. My chicken feet. Even though he could still reach them, he was still annoyed, because in the past, he’d always eaten the whole plate by himself. His brother never touched them.

“Let’s eat,” Wen Yu said, eating while also taking care of Ning Weiying.

Ning Weiying didn’t feel uneasy eating here at all. On the contrary, she was happy—so happy her little feet were swinging under the table as she buried her head in her food.

Looking at the half bowl of white rice still left, she felt it wouldn’t taste as good eaten plain. So she grabbed the big spoon, poured the tomato beef brisket soup over her rice, and mixed it all together. Ning Weiying squinted her eyes in bliss as she ate. Mmm, so good.

Wen Moci watched her. Do all girls like eating like this? His mom liked it too. Was it really that good? Wen Moci decided to try it himself, taking a bite. Wow, it was delicious. He immediately buried his head and shoveled the food into his mouth. Following a girl’s eating habits was definitely the right call.

“I’m taking your sister-in-law to get the marriage certificate this afternoon,” Wen Yu said to Wen Moci, still peeling shrimp for Ning Weiying as he spoke.

Wen Moci paused mid-bite. That fast! “Okay, go ahead.” He then glanced at Wen Yu again, looking like he wanted to say something but hesitated. “If you have something to say, say it.”

“I wanted to go find Zhou Yi this afternoon. Is that okay, bro?”

Wen Yu nodded. If he stayed home, he’d just be sitting around anyway—might as well let him go bother someone else. “Make sure you come back in the evening.” He couldn’t just stay over at someone’s place, after all.

“Okay, I’m done eating.” Wen Moci stood up and headed upstairs to pack up his things.

“Full?” Wen Yu asked, noticing she’d even drunk all the soup.

Ning Weiying leaned back in her chair, one hand resting on her slightly rounded belly, and nodded, then let out a yawn.

“Sleepy again?” Wen Yu reached over and pulled her onto his lap. Looking at her drowsy expression, he couldn’t resist pinching her little cheeks. She was just like a little piglet—eat and sleep. She buried her little head into his chest and gave a small nod.

Wen Yu carried her upstairs. In just that short span of time, she was already fast asleep against his shoulder. Was she really that tired?

Wen Yu lay down beside her, pulling her into his arms. Watching her lie quietly in his embrace, his heart felt completely full.

Two o’clock in the afternoon.

“Baby, time to wake up.” Wen Yu held her and gave her a gentle shake.

“Mmm, what’s wrong?” Ning Weiying said without even opening her eyes. Wen Yu carried her to the bathroom, intending to set her on the countertop.

The moment she was seated, she lunged toward him. Wen Yu quickly caught her. “What’s wrong? Did you bump yourself?” With that sudden lunge, he thought she might have hurt herself.

“No.” Ning Weiying shook her head. “It’s cold up there.” She shot a pitiful glance at the countertop.

Wen Yu spread a bath towel over it and set her down. “Still cold?” Seeing her shake her head, he went to get a washcloth, wet it, and wiped her face.

“Where are we going?” She hadn’t even fully woken up before he’d roused her.

“To get our marriage certificate, you little scatterbrain.”

Oh, right. They hadn’t gotten their certificate yet.

But she was so tired, with no energy, and didn’t want to walk.

Ning Weiying draped her small hand over his shoulder and buried her face into the hollow of his neck. Comfortable.

Seeing her like this, Wen Yu had no choice but to hold her, dress her, put on her shoes, grab their things, and head out the door.

Wen Moci had already left. He didn’t have the habit of taking afternoon naps. After packing up, he went straight to find Zhou Yi. He knew the code to Zhou Yi’s door, so there was no need to knock—he just pushed it open and walked in. Not seeing Zhou Yi in the living room, he immediately turned and headed for the bedroom.

“Bro, I’m here—holy shit, do you even let people live? It’s summer break and you’re still studying? With grades like yours, leave some room for the rest of us!” Wen Moci walked in and saw him grinding through practice problems, unable to stop himself from cursing.

At the desk sat a young man in a white T-shirt and black athletic shorts, revealing long, fair, and powerful calves, with a pair of white headphones hanging around his neck.

Looking up, there was a sharply defined jawline with clean angles, a pen gripped in his hand, and as he wrote with force, the veins on the back of his hand faintly bulged.

Zhou Yi set down his pen at the sound and turned to look at him, giving him a once-over. “You planning to wear my underwear?” How could he come over without bringing anything?

The young man’s hair was a bit long, slightly covering his brows and eyes, yet it added a layer of mystery to his face. He had high brow bones and a straight, prominent nose bridge, but he was blessed with a pair of peach-blossom eyes—one look at them and people’s hearts would flutter. Looking closely, there were faint dark circles beneath his eyes, a clear sign he’d been staying up late.

“Pfft, I just came to tell you about that thing. Remember back when we first started high school, when I lost that game and those guys messed with me?”

Zhou Yi actually thought about it. They’d all had quite a bit to drink back then, so he couldn’t quite recall the details, but he knew everything that happened afterward.

“Didn’t that senior girl just ignore you?” At the time, he’d advised him to pick someone else—that senior had the look of a well-behaved girl and was in her final year; better not to mess with her. But Wen Moci wouldn’t have it, insisting on choosing her. Zhou Yi couldn’t talk him out of it, so he just let him do as he pleased.

Even after being silently rejected, he still couldn’t figure it out. How could someone as handsome as him be turned down by a girl? He’d been confessed to by girls his whole life—this was his first time confessing to one. How could it fail? Later, he went to Zhou Yi, who called him foolish, and got cursed out by Wen Moci for it.

After that, Zhou Yi never provoked him again. After all, this young master had a sharp tongue and had been spoiled rotten since childhood.

“Hmph, she’s my sister-in-law now.” After saying this, Wen Moci flopped onto Zhou Yi’s bed in defeat and closed his eyes.

At the Civil Affairs Bureau entrance

Ning Weiying stared at the little red booklet in her hand. Just like that, she was married off.

Wen Yu took the red booklet from her hand. “I’ll keep it safe.” Then he took her hand and led her into the car. As he fastened her seatbelt, he asked, “Do you want to go home, or come with me to the company?” He still had work to do and couldn’t always be by her side, but he didn’t want her to stay home alone either.

“Can I go to the company?” Ning Weiying didn’t want to be alone at home either. Somehow, from the moment she first saw him, she’d wanted to stay by his side and never be apart from him.

“Of course you can.” Wen Yu gently stroked her cheek and said to the driver, “To the company.”

Ning Weiying started feeling drowsy again, her little head bobbing up and down as if she’d topple over at any second. Wen Yu quickly reached out to cup her face. “Sleepy again?” This little girl was always dozing off.

Hearing Wen Yu’s voice, Ning Weiying reached out her small hands, whining for a hug. Seeing how insistently she was fussing, Wen Yu had no choice but to unbuckle his seatbelt and pull her into his arms.

He touched her little hands—they were ice cold. He grabbed a blanket and draped it over her. “Are you feeling unwell, hmm?” Wen Yu worried she might be getting sick. Ning Weiying shook her head, saying she was just tired. Only then did Wen Yu relax. He wrapped one arm around her waist, and with the other, gently patted her arm, coaxing her to sleep.
