[My gentleness from now on belongs only to you.]
Dusk was gathering, and the daylight had dimmed quite a bit.
In early autumn, a gentle breeze swept past, carrying a hint of chilliness.
Ling Yan was dressed thinly. When he came out of the studio, he subconsciously hugged his arms.
The car to pick him up hadn’t arrived yet, but a black Maybach was parked not far ahead.
Walking closer to clearly see the car body, he recognized the slightly familiar license plate number, and his expression paused slightly while his footsteps instantly came to a halt on the spot.
His assistant, Qin Xiaoxiao, saw that he stopped walking and paused as well, asking, “What’s wrong, Brother Yan?”
Ling Yan didn’t have time to speak before he saw the rear window of that car roll down, revealing a face more handsome and striking than a movie star.
He saw that person hook a finger at Ling Yan, “Get in the car.”
Ling Yan stood in place and hesitated for a moment before saying to Qin Xiaoxiao beside him, “Xiaoxiao, you go back first. I’ll go back by myself in a bit.”
Qin Xiaoxiao had only been his assistant for a few days, and assuming that person was his friend, she didn’t ask much as she waved goodbye and left.
Ling Yan stood in place for a moment before slowly walking toward the car, pulling open the door and getting inside.
As soon as he sat inside the car, Ling Yan stated bluntly, “I won’t marry you!”
Chu Luochen hooked the corners of his lips slightly, his deep dark eyes gazing at him, “Regretted it?”
Ling Yan finally couldn’t help but glare back at him, like a fierce little lion bristling with hostility.
“What do you mean I regretted it? Young master here never intended to marry you in the first place, and I already said that night I was drunk and remember nothing!”
Chu Luochen gazed at him with a heavy look, those dark eyes appearing as though coated with a layer of ice, chillingly frightening.
“Ling Yan, are you playing games with me?”
Ling Yan’s complexion didn’t look good either, his two handsome eyebrows tightly furrowed.
“Think whatever you want. That night was just an accident, I really don’t need you to take responsibility, so can that damn marriage agreement or whatever be voided?”
Chu Luochen stared at him for a second before suddenly laughing.
Ling Yan was baffled by his laughter, gazing at him with full wariness, “What the hell are you laughing at?”
Chu Luochen slightly raised an eyebrow, “Shouldn’t it be you taking responsibility for me?”
“The innocence I’ve kept for nearly thirty years was snatched away by you, and now you want to discard it just like that after saying you don’t want it?”
“Ling Yan, do you want to be a scumbag?”
Ling Yan’s pupils widened from this line of reasoning, staring at him in disbelief, as if saying: How can you brazenly use such an old shameless face to say these words?
Yet Chu Luochen didn’t care in the least, even leaning closer to him and whispering by his ear,
“Baby, in ancient times, this kind of behavior from you would get you drowned in a pig cage.”
I don’t know if it was because Chu Luochen was leaning too close or because his voice was filled with a magical charm.
Just this simple sentence left Ling Yan’s entire body feeling tingly and numb, his blush spreading from the tips of his ears deep down to his neck.
Finding it amusing, Chu Luochen reached out and pinched his fiery red earlobe.
Continuing to speak near his ear as if remembering something, “You were just as sensitive that night.”
Ling Yan was relatively prone to shyness. Although he looked all boisterous and lively on the outside, he was actually just made of paper, innocent and cute.
Normally, hearing a slightly suggestive joke could make his face flush red for half a day, so how could he possibly withstand Chu Luochen teasing him like this?
However, Chu Luochen didn’t give him much time to recover before continuing to sweet-talk and cajole.
“You tried it yourself that night too; the two of us are a perfect match inside and out.”
Ling Yan slapped away his unruly hand with a smack, angrily snapping, “Which of your eyes saw that we match? Stop pushing your luck here.”
Chu Luochen pressed his fist against his chin and chuckled, “I don’t even need to look to know. After all, you shouted so enthusiastically that night, which gave me at least a little bit of encouragement to push my luck.”
