The three descended, landing on the roof of a building in downtown where Rex Splode stood with folded arms.
“Uh,” Rex Splode dragged his words as he stared at the three suspiciously, “Where are you guys coming from?”
“Um, we met in the sky, Rex,” Atom Eve replied dryly.
(A/N: I’ll be using their superhero names anytime they are in suit.)
“Oh, you do, do you?” Rex Splode said, hands still folded.
“Um, yeah, we do,” Invincible answered.
“Robot, the Flaxans—where are they?” Superboy interrupted their conversation as he approached Robot and Dupli-Kate, who stood at the edge of the roof.
“The Flaxan vanguard has mobilized on the street below,” Robot replied, pointing down.
Massive portals filled the streets of downtown as numerous Flaxans ran out of them in droves, the screams of people echoing in the air.
“They’re not getting old, Robot!” Rex Splode pointed at the Flaxans, then turned to Robot with wide arms and eyes.
“Why aren’t they getting old?!”
“They seem to have discovered a way to resist our time stream,” Robot replied, staring at the Flaxan-packed street.
“In three days?!” Rex Splode shouted.
“Three days for us,” Robot replied.
“Decades for them.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Superboy said as he stared at the Flaxans causing havoc, his rage-filled eyes glowing red.
“We’ll just send them running once more!”
Boom!
Superboy flew downward so fast that he appeared in front of a group of Flaxans in a second.
A punch to the face of one caused its head to burst apart like a watermelon; a laser to the head of another melted its brain.
Then he whipped his head to the side, his lasers cutting through the Flaxans.
The teen team dropped down to help, only for Rex Splode and Dupli-Kate to get thrown back by an explosion the moment their feet touched the ground.
“Urup Moy!” A commander—a new one—pointed at Dupli-Kate, and several Flaxans dragged a device which opened, a cannon rising and pointing at her.
Voom!
A thick red laser erupted from the cannon’s tip.
Though Dupli-Kate kept cloning and dodging, the red beam followed her closely.
Swoosh!
Boom!
Superboy fell from the sky, raising a small dust cloud.
His laser beam struck the cannon, causing it to explode and kill the nearby Flaxans.
Rex ran from behind them, throwing glowing balls that exploded the moment they touched something.
“Are you okay?” he asked her in concern.
“Yeah… yeah,” Dupli-Kate replied, her face a little pale.
Superboy dropped her, then turned to look at Rex Splode, who ran toward them screaming, his glowing balls tailing him.
Boom!
An explosion occurred as the balls struck the ground, tossing Rex Splode into the air.
Superboy moved fast, catching the flying Rex Splode and dropping him.
The grinning Flaxan commander froze and looked up, staring at Robot and Atom Eve, who approached him.
Robot’s upper back opened slightly, and two mini-missiles ejected from the opening, tracing an arc before striking down where the Flaxans gathered.
“Su hi tre moy!” the commander shouted, pointing at Robot.
A tank rolled from behind him, pointing its barrel at Robot before shooting a tetrahedron-shaped bullet, which split midair into four triangles.
Zoom!
Superboy’s laser precisely struck each one, causing them to explode.
“Gru ga moy!” the commander shouted, pointing at Superboy.
A massive machine slowly stepped out of the portal, its head transparent, showing a Flaxan pilot.
Boom!
Superboy didn’t wait for it to emerge fully.
He exploded forward, grabbed a gap in the machine with one hand, and flew upward with a boom.
The machine kept struggling, trying to free itself from his grasp; unfortunately, it was futile.
After reaching hundreds of meters from the ground, he violently threw the machine at a group of Flaxans.
The machine, coated in flames due to friction, streaked from the sky to the ground and—boom!—massive Flaxan forces were obliterated.
Superboy slowly descended, catching the shock in the Flaxan commander’s eyes.
‘Was the machine built for me?’ Superboy thought with a raised eyebrow.
‘Unfortunately for them, I grew stronger.’

(A/N: I’ve updated the template in other chapters too. ‘Cause the Super family aren’t really super without the perception manipulation, right?)
Boom!
The commander shakily stood up, one of its hands broken in a gruesome way—the hand where the wristband was wrapped around the wrist.
“Ugh!!” The Flaxan commander let out a raspy cry as it slowly dried up.
Robot, flying with the aid of his machine, noticed this and scanned the commander.
“The wristband protects them from our time stream!” Robot said, sharing the knowledge with the other five.
“Destroy their wristbands!”
The teen team burst forth into action again, this time with more vigor.
‘Destroy the wristband?
And let them run like that?’ Superboy, hovering in the air, stared at the street.
He had also thought of simply destroying the wristband… not anymore.
If the Flaxans kept going and coming, more lives would be lost.
Even against his conscience, Superboy started a carnage, killing the Flaxans like animals in a slaughterhouse.
Robot dropped to the ground and took a wristband from the wrist of a dead Flaxan, scanning it.
“49,000 kilohertz,” Robot murmured.
Superboy, Invincible, and Rex Splode kept Flaxans away from him.
A side of his neck opened, revealing a small opening into which he inserted a device.
“Hoo!!!” A sound escaped from Robot’s system, spreading a visible shockwave through the area.
Any Flaxan it passed caused the wristband of the Flaxan to spark, and immediately they dried up, running back to the opened portal.
Watching the portal close, Superboy and the others breathed a sigh of relief.
“Way to go, psycho there, Superboy and Invincible!” Rex Splode said.
“I take back everything I’ve said about you guys before, and I said a lot!”
“Thanks, I guess…?” Invincible said with an awkward smile.
Atom Eve shook her head at Rex, then turned to the hovering Superboy, who still looked at the scene in a daze.
“You okay?” she asked.
“Yeah,” Superboy said with a weak smile.
“Since the invasion has been stopped, I’ll be going.”
Before the five could respond, he had already left with a boom!
“Oh, come on! Seriously?!” Rex threw his hands up in the air.
“That guy can kill the Flaxans like bugs, but a little compliment from yours truly sends him crying back to his mommy?! Talk about a fragile ego!”
Finally updated!
