Jack’s eyes widened as he noticed the speeding A-Train, but in the next moment, his eyes glowed red as it dawned on him: if A-Train kept running, he’d run through Sasha—and Jack knew A-Train wouldn’t maneuver.
He was just that cruel.
Swoosh!
A-Train ran past him, stirring like a wind, not even stopping to check how safe the person he almost killed was.
Jack ultimately couldn’t pierce a hole through A-Train; it wasn’t that A-Train was faster than him, but he just couldn’t kill someone casually.
Plus, a camera was placed on a pole across the street—he didn’t want to get hunted by Homelander just after he was reincarnated.
“Jack, are you okay?” Sasha—whom Jack had dragged closer to him—asked in concern.
“I’ve been calling you, and you don’t respond.”
“Sorry, I was just thinking of how great of a sister you are,” Jack said with a smile, not telling her that she had just escaped having her organs scattered around the road.
“What’s with the sweet words?” Sasha said as she squinted her eyes happily, tapped his chest lightly, and escaped his embrace.
“I’m not getting you anything, okay? Come on, let’s go.”
Jack smiled as he followed Sasha.

After they got home, Sasha cooked a simple dinner.
When they were through eating, Sasha, drowsy, headed upstairs toward her room, mumbling about Vought’s big day tomorrow and how she needed to be early.
Jack shook his head and washed the plates before heading upstairs.
The moment he sat on the bed, A-Train’s face appeared in his mind, together with a savage thought:
‘Why don’t I ki—No!
I don’t want to kill him!’
Jack clutched his head, banishing the thought, and then sighed.
What’s gotten into me?
First, it was the act of almost killing A-Train with a laser; now… it was this thought.
Sighing, he decided to distract himself from A-Train and mentally called out—
‘Status.’
[Name: Jack Davis]
[Age: 18]
[Template: Superboy-Prime]
[Current synchronization: 0.2%]
[Current abilities: Laser beam, super strength, super regeneration, flight, speed, enhanced hearing and eyesight, indestructible body, X-ray vision, cold breath, Bio-field, perception manipulation(low)]
[Note: For every saved or killed being or city, a synchronization point would be rewarded]
‘I really did awaken a system, and got Superboy-Prime’s ability too,’ Jack thought in glee as he clenched and unclenched his fist, feeling the raw primal power in his veins.
Now he didn’t need to join the OCP (Omni Consumer Products) organization and be monitored and treated like a lab rat.
Instead, he just needed to—
“Save people,” Jack muttered, directly ignoring the killing part.
“Even though Vought has been trying to fill the gap the Seven Guardians of the Globe left, criminals still run rampant.”
Unable to sleep because of the sudden joy, Jack stood up and approached his wardrobe.
Opening it, his eyes scanned through the various clothing before settling on a hoodie—old and long since he’d worn it—
“A perfect outfit,” Jack thought with a smile as he took it from the hanger and wore it.
Then he proceeded to remove his glasses, and instantly the air surrounding him changed.
If before he looked like a nerdy 18-year-old boy, now he looked like a strong model.
Jack smirked and opened his window, the night wind striking his face, along with dissipating his gathered confidence.
pumping up his courage once more, Jack Shakily squatted on the window rail, and then he jumped down—but he didn’t fall.
Instead, he stayed afloat, with arms and legs stretched wide in an awkward position.
“T-That’s it…” Jack muttered as he shakily straightened his posture.
Though the template synchronization came with the memories of using abilities and fighting, Jack still felt fearful—afraid that he’d failed.
Stabilizing himself and standing midair, he let the night wind sway his clothes and hair a deep sigh filled with relief and excitement escaped his lips.
After hovering there for ten minutes, he finally did what he came outside to do.
Closing his eyes, his hearing capacity slowly spread farther as his breath became even.
Then I heard them—screams—
“R-Run! He’s coming!”
“A thief! Catch him—he stole my bag!”
“Report! We have two speeding vehicles! We need reinforcement now! We repeat we request reinforcement!”
“As expected. This world is hardly safe any longer.” Jack opened his eyes and clenched his fist, his fear dissipating a little and giving rise to excitement—excitement at the possibility of being a superhero.
“But this unsafe world has me…”
Boom!
Jack exploded upward, creating a small shockwave as he dreamed into the night sky, his voice drifting with the wind.
“…I’ll become the perfect hero!”

A/N: Wait!
To those who want an overpowered, cruel MC, I’m sorry—this is not for you.
Jack was a college boy when he died, not a serial killer, meaning he won’t be doing much killing of humans… at first.
This fanfic is about a naive, overpowered college guy trying his best to survive in this chaotic world.
