The current Shen Youchu had become so unhinged that it was genuinely terrifying.
Covering his face, Zong Huaiyu dragged the pale-faced Zhang Cuihua back into their room. The two leaned against the door for a long while before Zhang Cuihua finally recovered enough to speak.
“Brother Yu, that dead girl must’ve completely lost her mind after that fall. If she keeps this up, we might not live long enough to enjoy our money.”
Zong Huaiyu rubbed his aching cheek, his face twisted with anger.
“Hmph. Don’t worry. Do you think I’ll let her have her way? If she can marry Young Master Fu, great. If not, I’ll have her sent to the Great Northern Wilderness for rural labor and let her starve out there.”
“But… but can we really do that? That crazy girl is unbelievably strong now,” Zhang Cuihua said nervously.
“Hah. Money makes the world go round. Once I get her name onto the relocation list, someone will come and tie her up and drag her away. She won’t have any choice.”
He let out a sinister laugh.
“No matter how crazy she is, she’s still just a woman. If the factory didn’t still need her alive, killing her would be as easy as crushing an ant.”
The only reason the Shen Family Wire Factory hadn’t been completely seized yet was because Shen Youchu was the last surviving heir of the Shen family, and some people still owed the family a bit of respect.
Zong Huaiyu understood this very well.
Otherwise, he would have hired a few thugs to bundle her up and send her to the Fu family already—or simply poisoned her and gotten it over with.
After breakfast, Shen Youchu didn’t waste any time.
She asked Aunt Yang for some fruit and grain, returned to her room, locked the door, and entered her pocket dimension using her consciousness.
She remembered that Master Awesome Hermit had explained the spirit fields yesterday, but hadn’t specifically said seeds were required.
Deciding to experiment, she casually tossed a handful of flour onto the spiritual farmland.
The moment the flour touched the soil, something miraculous happened.
A vast patch of wheat sprouts burst from the ground before her eyes.
Shen Youchu’s eyes lit up.
“Hehe. It works!”
She immediately threw in a handful of rice.
Then apples.
Watermelons.
Hami melons.
Grapes.
Bananas.
She kept tossing things in…
And trees kept growing.
By the time she finished her enthusiastic farming spree, it was already noon.
When she exited the space, only Aunt Yang remained in the villa.
This was the perfect opportunity for some looting.
According to the memories she’d inherited, her mother’s estate included plenty of jewelry, cash, bankbooks, and other valuables.
Shen Youchu casually sent Aunt Yang out to buy groceries.
The world was a dangerous place.
Even though the original owner’s memories suggested Aunt Yang was a decent person, Shen Youchu wasn’t willing to take chances.
Better safe than sorry.
As for the locks in the villa?
After years of military service, she could open them with two toothpicks.
Her first targets were her two cheap little sisters’ rooms.
Most of her mother’s jewelry had ended up in those two vultures’ hands anyway.
Without hesitation, she swept everything away:
jade bracelets,
gemstone necklaces,
gold,
silver,
watches—
whether they belonged to her mother or not.
A single thought, and everything disappeared into her storage space.
Not a single feather left behind.
Having a spatial storage ability was wonderful.
She didn’t even have to touch anything.
Doraemon himself would probably beg to become her apprentice.
After emptying the sisters’ rooms, Shen Youchu headed straight for the master bedroom.
Click.
The lock opened instantly.
The moment she entered, she saw two safes standing neatly side by side.
“Heh. Saves me the trouble of searching.”
Pressing an ear against the first safe, she listened carefully.
Click.
Click.
Both safes opened in no time.
To her, these old-fashioned combination locks were even less secure than bedroom doors.
The first safe was stuffed with ten-yuan bills.
Nothing exciting.
She took all of it.
The second safe contained a mixed collection:
jewelry,
jade,
cash,
gold bars,
and various valuables.
Naturally, she swept everything away too.
Collect. Collect. Collect.
Just as she was about to search Zong Huaiyu’s study, voices came from the front door.
Zhang Cuihua was speaking.
“Doctor, please take a good look at her. She’s like a mad dog—always hitting people.”
“Don’t worry, Madam,” a man replied.
“One injection and she’ll behave.”
The voice sounded shady as hell.
Shen Youchu calmly sat down on the sofa and waited.
She was curious what tricks Zhang Cuihua had prepared this time.
Judging by the situation, they’d apparently found someone to “treat” her insanity.
The moment Zhang Cuihua entered and saw Shen Youchu sitting there, a smug grin spread across her face.
Nobody knew what she was so proud of.
“Doctor, that’s her! Give her ten injections if you have to! Money is no issue!”
The doctor she hired was a balding middle-aged man with a greasy, lecherous appearance.
He smirked.
“Leave it to me.”
He set down his medical case and pulled out an enormous syringe.
A ridiculously huge syringe.
The kind you’d use on livestock.
“Little girl, don’t be afraid. I’m here to help you.”
The bald man squeezed the syringe, spraying a little liquid from the needle, then suddenly lunged like a starving dog pouncing on food.
And then…
There was no “then.”
Because the syringe ended up sticking out of his own backside.
Shen Youchu calmly emptied the final drop of medicine into him.
The doctor promptly collapsed face-down and fell asleep peacefully.
Everything happened so quickly that Zhang Cuihua only had time to squeal in alarm.
By the time she realized something was wrong and tried to run, it was already too late.
Just as her fingers touched the doorknob, Shen Youchu grabbed her by the leg and dragged her back.
At this point, Zhang Cuihua’s eyes contained nothing but tears and despair.
She had completely given up resisting.
Shen Youchu casually pulled the syringe from the doctor’s rear end and pointed it at her.
“Talk.”
“Where are my mother’s will, property deeds, and bankbooks?”
The original owner’s memories clearly indicated they existed.
Yet Shen Youchu hadn’t found them in Zong Huaiyu’s safes.
Zhang Cuihua was terrified, but she still tried to bluff.
“D-Don’t do anything crazy! Brother Yu will be home soon! I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Shen Youchu had no patience for that.
She grabbed Zhang Cuihua by the hair, lifted her up, and jabbed the needle toward her backside.
“I’m poking the mistress!”
“Poking the wicked woman!”
“Poking flowers all over your peach blossom garden!”
“Are you talking or not?!”
“Talking or not?!”
“Aaaah! Help! Somebody help me!”
Zhang Cuihua rolled her eyes from the pain and screamed like a banshee.
Finally, she broke down.
“Waaah! I’ll talk! I’ll talk!”
Crying miserably and clutching her sore rear end, Zhang Cuihua led Shen Youchu to a small room on the third floor.
“What you’re looking for is in here.”
“If you’re playing games with me,” Shen Youchu said with a side glance, “I’ll shave your head bald.”
For some reason, that look alone made Zhang Cuihua shiver.
The woman was terrifying when she got serious.
“I wouldn’t dare! I wouldn’t dare!”
The moment Shen Youchu stepped into the room, Zhang Cuihua suddenly displayed Olympic-level speed.
Whoosh!
The door slammed shut.
Click.
Click.
She locked it from the outside.
Then she burst into hysterical laughter.
“Hahahaha!”
“I’m telling you, Brother Yu is bringing thugs back any minute now!”
“You little brat, once you’re tied up, I’m not just shaving your head—I’ll beat you to death with a belt!”
The words had barely left her mouth when—
CLANG!
The doorknob and lock cylinder fell onto the floor in front of her.
The smile instantly froze on her face.
The door slowly creaked open.
Zhang Cuihua’s pupils shrank.
Standing there was Shen Youchu’s stunningly beautiful face.
With a playful smile, Shen Youchu placed a fair hand on her shoulder.
“Surprised?”
“Unexpected?”
Zhang Cuihua: “…”
