Two little kids chased each other with school bags hanging from their shoulders.

An old uncle watered the society garden while humming an old Bollywood song.

Life was waking up.

On the second floor of House No.

7…

BANG!

BANG!

“Dhruv!” A girl’s voice echoed through the house.

“If you don’t wake up in the next ten seconds, your breakfast belongs to me!” Silence.

“…” “Nine…” Still nothing.

“Eight…” Inside the room…

A teenage boy buried himself deeper under the blanket.

“…Five…” “…Three…” “…Two…” The bedroom door suddenly opened.

A young woman folded her arms.

She looked at the sleeping boy.

“…One.” She smiled.

“Your loss.” She picked up the plate of hot aloo parathas from the study table and calmly walked away.

Three seconds later…

“URVIIIII!” A panicked voice echoed through the house.

— Scene 2 – Sibling Chaos Dhruv rushed downstairs with messy black hair and one sock missing.

“Di!

Give it back!” Urvi sat at the dining table, calmly cutting a piece of his paratha.

“Mmm…” She nodded.

“Not bad.” Dhruv stopped in horror.

“…You’re actually eating it.” “I warned you.” “You bluff every day!” “And today I didn’t.” Dhruv sighed dramatically.

“I trusted you…” Urvi laughed.

“Oh please.” She slid the plate toward him.

“I only took one bite.” He looked at the missing corner.

“…That’s a huge bite.” “It builds character.” “You literally stole my breakfast.” “And you literally ignored five alarms.” Dhruv scratched the back of his head.

“…Fair.” — Scene 3 – Second Place Breakfast continued.

Urvi scrolled through her phone.

Dhruv refreshed the school portal.

Monthly Test Ranking He stared silently.

Dhruv Sharma Difference: 2 marks.

“…” Urvi looked up.

“Well?” Dhruv sighed.

“Second.” She expected disappointment.

Instead…

He smiled slightly.

“I knew I messed up chemistry.” Urvi nodded.

“So?” “So…” He took another bite.

“I’ll beat him next month.” She smiled proudly.

“That’s my little brother.” “Don’t call me little.” “You’ll always be little.” “I’m literally taller than you.” “Barely.” — Scene 4 – Deep Arrives The front gate burst open.

“Dhruuuuv!” A familiar voice echoed.

Deep rushed inside while trying to fix his tie.

His school bag was hanging from only one shoulder.

“I’m late!” Urvi looked at the clock.

“You say that every single morning.” “It’s tradition.” Dhruv laughed.

Deep grabbed a toast from the table.

Urvi narrowed her eyes.

“…Did you just steal my breakfast?” Deep froze.

“…Permission?” “No.” “…Too late.” He shoved the toast into his mouth and sprinted toward the door.

Urvi sighed.

“I don’t know how Alya tolerates him.” As if on cue— “Hurry up!” A girl’s voice came from outside.

Deep winced.

“…She’s here.” — Scene 5 – Morning Walk Outside Sunrise Residency…

Alya stood near the gate, tapping her foot.

Her uniform was perfectly neat.

She looked at Deep.

“…Three minutes late.” Deep grinned.

“I was emotionally delayed.” Alya blinked.

“…What?” “I overslept.” “…That’s physically delayed.” Dhruv laughed.

Deep pointed at him.

“Don’t laugh.” “You’ll understand when you fall in love.” Dhruv rolled his eyes.

“I have exams.” Deep smirked.

“Exactly.” Alya muttered under her breath in Russian.

“Безнадёжный…” (“Hopeless…”) Deep smiled proudly.

“See?” “She called me handsome.” Alya looked at Dhruv.

“I didn’t.” Dhruv nodded.

“I know.” Deep gasped.

“Traitors.” The three burst into laughter as they walked toward school.

— Scene 6 – Devison High School The large school gates stood open.

Students poured inside.

Morning assembly echoed across the campus.

Deep and Alya turned toward the junior wing.

“See you after school!” Deep waved.

Dhruv nodded.

“Don’t get detention.” “No promises.” Alya sighed.

“I’ll make sure he survives.” The two disappeared into the crowd.

Dhruv adjusted his tie and walked toward the senior building.

— Scene 7 – Class XI-A “Morning, Dhruv!” “Morning.” Several classmates greeted him.

He greeted everyone back before taking his seat by the window.

A boy leaned over.

“So…” “You got second.” Dhruv nodded.

“Yeah.” “No excuses?” “Nope.” “You okay?” “I’ll survive.” The class laughed.

Just then— Their class teacher entered.

“Good morning, everyone.” “Good morning, ma’am!” She adjusted her glasses.

“I have two announcements.” The room became quiet.

“First…” She looked at the rankings.

“Congratulations to Rohan for securing first place.” The class applauded.

Rohan stood politely.

“Thank you, ma’am.” She smiled.

“And congratulations to Dhruv as well.” Another round of applause.

Dhruv simply nodded.

No disappointment.

No jealousy.

Just acceptance.

— Scene 8 – A Small Slip Lunch break.

Dhruv opened his lunch box.

His phone vibrated.

Kabir: Bro, new anime episode dropped.

Dhruv stared.

“…” He smiled.

“I’ll watch just one episode tonight.” Rohan passed by.

“Planning your evening?” Dhruv grinned.

“Maybe.” Rohan chuckled.

“Don’t lose more marks because of anime.” “We’ll see.” It wasn’t hostility.

It was friendly rivalry.

— Scene 9 – The Announcement Last period.

The teacher closed the attendance register.

“One more thing before you leave.” Everyone looked up.

“Starting tomorrow…” “Our class will have a new transfer student.” The room instantly filled with whispers.

“A girl?” “From where?” “Which school?” Teacher smiled.

“You’ll find out tomorrow.” The bell rang.

Students rushed out, already making guesses.

Dhruv packed his bag calmly.

He didn’t think much of it.

After all…

Tomorrow was just another school day.

Or so he believed.
