He suddenly snapped back to his senses, his ethereal face contorted with a fierce and violent expression, the sharp glint bursting from his eyes carrying an oppressive weight. Startled, Rong Tangtang flinched and leaned backward, barely managing to grab the stair railing in time; otherwise, she would have taken a nasty tumble down the stairs.

Rong Tangtang: Sleep??? Well, that was just speechless. Letting out a sigh and maintaining a remarkably stable emotional state, she said in quite a polite tone, “Young Commander, I’ve just suffered a gunshot wound—do I still have the energy to ‘sleep’ with you? I admit you do have a certain charm, but you’re not my type. Rest easy, will you!”

Huo Siyu: ??? What on earth did this woman mean? No energy to sleep with him? She would sleep with him? Damn it, would he, Huo Siyu, be the one being taken advantage of? Imagining this scenario, the words slipped straight out of his mouth: “If anyone’s doing the sleeping, I’ll be the one sleeping with you!”Full novel: The Crazy Woman Returns Home, Plotting to Marry the Handsome, Tragic Young Marshal — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Having been led right into her rhetorical trap and too lazy to argue further, Huo Siyu turned around and strode up the stairs.

Rong Tangtang called out from behind, “Hey, where is the guest room? This is my first time here, the least you could do is tell me!”

Bang!

Huo Siyu entered his room and slammed the door shut in one swift, seamless motion.

Rong Tangtang pursed her lips. “What’s with the attitude? Tch! Being handsome makes you a big deal? Such a lunatic!”

Taking a deep breath, she began searching around for a room.

Finally, she found a vacant room on the right side of the second floor. Inside, the dowry her stepmother had given her when she married over was tossed about casually—a few red cloth bundles containing some brand-new gowns and two cotton quilts, looking utterly pitiful.

Humming a little tune, Rong Tangtang began organizing her clothes and bedding before heading into the bathroom to shower.

Half an hour later.

Knock, knock, knock!

Just as Rong Tangtang had finished drying her hair, the door to her room was knocked upon.

“Tangtang, my child, it’s me—Grandma.”

Wearing red silk pajamas, Rong Tangtang hurried over to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, she saw the kind-faced grandmother standing alongside Huo Siyu, who looked as arrogant as a king of hell.

“Grandma? Y-you’re here? Is something the matter?” Rong Tangtang asked, her face full of confusion.

The matriarch glared at Huo Siyu standing behind her, then smiled warmly at Rong Tangtang and said, “This bastard of a brat kicked you out of the bridal chamber—I’ve heard all about it. Come, follow Grandma to the master bedroom. You are the Young Commander’s wife, so naturally you should sleep in the master bedroom. Let’s see who dares to chase you out!”

With one hand leaning on her cane and the other pulling Rong Tangtang along, the matriarch strode forward with immense force.

Frowning with dwindling patience, Huo Siyu urged, “Old Ancestor, stop making a fuss. Hurry up and…”

Before he could finish his sentence, the matriarch, who had walked over to the railing in the second-floor hallway, suddenly turned around, leaned over the banister, flung one leg deftly over the rail, and burst into a crying wail, “Jinhua, I’ve failed you! I didn’t raise your child right, I’m coming to find you right now!”

Fu Jinhua was Huo Siyu’s biological mother, who had passed away from illness when Huo Siyu was three years old.

Terrified, Rong Tangtang rushed forward to grab the matriarch. “Grandma, don’t jump!”

Huo Siyu’s face turned ashen.

The old lady pulled out her ultimate trump card once again: “Fine, she can stay in the master bedroom.”

The matriarch immediately turned back around, adding, “With you.”

Huo Siyu nodded.

And thus, under the watchful eye of the matriarch, Rong Tangtang entered the master bedroom of Huo Siyu’s villa.

His bedroom was decorated in a dark French style, but right now, it had been made up to look like a bridal chamber, with water-red silk bed curtains hanging beside the bed to create a particularly festive atmosphere.

The large red wedding quilt embroidered with mandarin ducks had been tossed onto the floor, showing Huo Siyu’s clear disdain.

Furious, the matriarch scolded, “Huo Siyu, pick that up right now, or don’t make me smack you upside the head!”

Reluctantly, Huo Siyu picked it up and tossed it onto the bed.

The matriarch pushed Rong Tangtang to lie down on one side of the large bed, then glared at Huo Siyu. “You—lie down.”

As a dignified Young Commander commanding tens of thousands of troops, Huo Siyu was entirely helpless against only one person: the grandmother who had raised him.
