10 – A Cup of Milk Tea Can Steal a Rabbit Away
The maid brought Mu Mian to a high-end women’s clothing store.
“Madam, feel free to pick whatever you need.”
Mu Mian nodded her head and began browsing around the shop.
Mu Mian was fair-skinned and slender, with an exquisitely delicate face—everything looked good on her.
Seeing that Mu Mian was browsing comfortably on her own, the maid walked over to a nearby seat, sat down, took out her phone, and started scrolling.
The women’s clothing store had three floors in total. As Mu Mian wandered around, she eventually reached the third floor and walked straight out through the door there.
Noticing someone carrying a milk tea cup coming from the direction ahead, she spotted a milk tea shop called “Yidiandian” up front. Rabbit was immediately drawn to it as if her soul had been captured.
Although Mu Mian didn’t fully understand this world yet, she knew that you had to pay for food and drinks.
But Rabbit had no money…
Mu Mian could only stare longingly, quenching her thirst by thinking of plums—figuratively speaking, of course.
Just then, a tall figure passed by.
At first, he thought he might be hallucinating, but he stopped and looked more closely. Once he confirmed he wasn’t mistaken, the corners of his mouth unconsciously lifted into a smile.
There stood the girl, gazing eagerly in front of a milk tea shop. It seemed she wanted a drink; her pink, pouty lips were slightly parted, revealing a pair of pearly white, adorable little rabbit teeth.
She looked like a little bunny that could be lured away with just a cup of milk tea.
“What a coincidence, we meet again.”
Hearing a voice from behind, Mu Mian turned around, her small nose bumping into a firm chest. Lifting her head, she saw a familiar face.
Her big, dark eyes lit up. “It’s you.”
The person who had helped her find her husband that day!
Seeing that Mu Mian recognized him, Ye Jingchuan felt a surge of joy.
She still remembered him…
“Do you remember my name?”
Mu Mian: “…” Her rabbit ears twisted together in distress.
She… really didn’t remember…
After all, her mind had been completely focused on finding her husband back then.
Seeing her reaction, he knew she definitely didn’t remember.
A flicker of disappointment passed through Ye Jingchuan’s heart, but then he thought—A City was so big. For them to meet again like this was already a remarkable stroke of fate.
“What are you doing standing here?”
Mu Mian drooped her little head dejectedly. “I want to drink milk tea, but I have no money…”
A light chuckle escaped Ye Jingchuan’s lips. “No problem, I’ll treat you.”
Ye Jingchuan walked up to the ordering counter and turned back to ask Mu Mian, “What would you like to drink?”
“I’m not sure either…”
So Ye Jingchuan asked the staff, “What are your bestsellers?”
“Ice Cream Black Tea sells pretty well.”
“Then I’ll take two cups.”
They soon received the milk tea. Holding the drinks, Ye Jingchuan pointed toward the seating area up ahead for people to rest.
“There are seats over there. Let’s go sit and drink.”
By now, Rabbit’s eyes were only on the milk tea. She nodded emphatically.
The two walked over and sat down in the seats.
“Here.” Ye Jingchuan handed Mu Mian a cup.
Mu Mian took the milk tea and began drinking delightedly.
Watching the girl beside him sway her head happily as she drank, Ye Jingchuan couldn’t help but smile, charmed by her cuteness.
“Is it that good?”
Mu Mian nodded while drinking, not even willing to let go of the straw.
Ye Jingchuan never drank this kind of thing, but seeing how much she enjoyed it, he took a sip as well.
It was icy and sweet. Perhaps because of the person beside him, even he found it delicious.Recalling something, Ye Jingchuan glanced sideways at Mu Mian and tentatively asked, “Did you find your husband that day?”
Mentioning her husband, Mu Mian’s heart instantly swelled with joy, sweeter than drinking milk tea.
“I found him!”
“What’s your husband’s name?” Anyone living in Jinyuan would be from the upper class of City A—he should be able to inquire about him.
“!!!”
This question made Mu Mian suddenly widen her eyes and perk up her rabbit ears.
She seemed… to have forgotten to ask her husband’s name!
After finding her husband, she had gotten so used to calling him “husband” that she never even asked for his name!
Seeing Mu Mian’s reaction, Ye Jingchuan seemed to guess something and found it rather unbelievable. “You don’t know your husband’s name?”
How could someone not even know their own husband’s name?
Had she really… gotten married?
Mu Mian: “…”
Yes… she truly didn’t know…
Meanwhile, the maid had been scrolling on her phone for so long that she lost track of time. When she finally snapped out of it, she realized over half an hour had passed.
“Madam, are you done browsing?”
But when she stood up and scanned the store, Mu Mian was nowhere to be seen.
Discovering Mu Mian was missing, the maid panicked and immediately began searching for her. After asking a sales assistant, she learned Mu Mian had left the store long ago.
The mall was huge. The maid searched the nearby area but found no trace of Mu Mian.
The maid didn’t have Mu Mian’s contact information either. The madam seemed so easily deceived—what if someone had kidnapped her…
Though she had no idea where this suddenly appearing madam came from, she was, after all, the woman brought home by the master. If anything happened to her, the maid couldn’t bear the responsibility!
The maid quickly contacted Shi Hai.
“What! You said the madam is missing? Keep searching the mall for her. I’ll inform the master.”
Knock knock Shi Hai rapped on the office door.
“Come in.”
“Sir.”
As soon as Shi Hai entered, Fu Chenxiu sensed his serious demeanor and furrowed his brow slightly. “What’s wrong?”
“The maid just called. She said the madam got lost in the mall…”
Hearing this, Fu Chenxiu’s expression instantly turned cold. “How did she get lost?”
“I’m not entirely sure of the details—”
Before Shi Hai could finish, Fu Chenxiu picked up his phone, dialed a number, and held it to his ear.
As time passed without the call being answered, the man’s brow furrowed tighter and tighter.
Fu Chenxiu stood up, grabbing his coat on the way.
Shi Hai understood that the master intended to search for her personally. Remembering something, he felt compelled to remind him, “Sir, there’s still an important meeting later…”
Fu Chenxiu tossed out a reply, “Postpone it,” and strode swiftly out of the office on his long legs.
Watching Fu Chenxiu’s hurried departure, Shi Hai truly couldn’t comprehend the master’s intentions.
A young couple sat down in the seats opposite Mu Mian and Ye Jingchuan.
The girl held a bag of egg waffles bought from a bakery. As soon as she opened it, a delightful milky fragrance wafted out.
Rabbit’s nose was naturally quite sensitive. Drawn by the enticing aroma, her gaze immediately shifted toward them.
Seeing the steaming, soft, and chewy egg waffles in the girl’s hands, Rabbit swallowed hard.
It smelled so delicious…
Yet another thing Rabbit had never tasted before…Noticing the girl’s gaze was drawn to something, Ye Jingchuan also followed her line of sight.
