“How do you intend to keep on living..with that disgrace?” Sukuna demanded from Megumi Fushiguro’s soul, looking down on the vessel that he had tormented.

“You lost your body to me, killed your own sister, and still refused the hand that reached out for you.” His four crimson eyes locked onto the boy, sneering at him.

The brat you saved ended up killing alot of people.

Give it up.

You’ll never live a righteous life again.

Let ME handle things and stay out of my way.” Megumi Fushiguro’s voice cut through the silence that descended on them, his tone blank :”Why do you sound so desperate?

Is it because there’s still one more left?

One more of your fingers.” He continued speaking, Sukuna’s visage in the boundary between their souls distorting even further thanks to Itadori Yuji’s soul-inflicting punches and dismantles.

” If there’s a specific way to becoming a cursed object, then getting carelessly stripped off by Itadori here will mean your death, and Resonance won’t be entirely beneficial for you.

If the nineteen fingers disappear, the last one will also lose its soul connection from the impact.

I’m relieved to know even you fear death.” Megumi Fushiguro’s smile widened at the distorted form of Sukuna, as he continued to speak :” I never intended to live a righteous life from the start.

It’s obvious, but there are more people in the world than there are of oneself.” His tone changed, mixed with something along the lines of grief and acceptance.

“I think..

I’ll try living for someone else once more.” His memories flashed, thoughts of Itadori and Kugisaki filling in the gaping void that was left by Tsumiki’s death..

And as much as he hated to admit it, his personal guardians death as well.

Satoru Gojo and Tsumiki Fushiguro were gone, and he had come to accept that.

The external barrier of Itadori’s domain crumbled, as Megumi’s body flew out after a thunderous strike from Itadori himself.

Sukuna laid down on the ground, stripped of his vessel and becoming nothing more of a parasite made from Cursed Energy.

“Haah..

Haaah…” Sukuna panted, with the knocked out body of Megumi Fushiguro behind him, as Itadori loomed over him with a gaze full of pity, his voice reaching out to the dying King of Curses : “Unknowingly burdened with a curse from birth, what kind of monster one becomes depended on luck.

But I had my grandpa.

Sukuna, let’s try again.

Not to curse someone, but to live with someone.

Even if no one accepts you…I alone can live with you.” Flashes of his conversation with the bra-no, with Itadori Yuji came back to his mind, as the former vessel whom he had taken the body of to commit a massacre in Shibuya continued speaking :”What are you going to do…

Sukuna?” At that question, the furnace that dwelled deep within Sukuna’s soul burned even hotter with rage at the audacity of his opponent.

The fighters last words to Sukuna continued, as he picked up the blob of Cursed Energy that was slowly, but surely, disintegrating now that he had no vessel to control.

“Sukuna…

You are me.” “I’ll commend you for maintaining the act up until this point, Itadori Yuji!!

Don’t look down on me..

I am a Curse..!!” Were the king’s final words, as he had fully disintegrated in the embrace of his former vessel.

After death, in contrast to Fushiguro’s words, Sukuna had no fear and walked in the dark, empty void with Uraume by his side.

His stride was confident, as if he hadn’t just suffered defeat mere moments ago.

Then…that patch-faced Cursed Spirit whom he had belittled Itadori with came into view, accusing him of not truly living up to his own ideals.

Sukuna only replied to him with an answer that fully unraveled what was hidden deep within him: “It amounts to the same thing.

That is my nature, I knew no other way…

No, that’s wrong.

I had two choices, but I was so afraid that I only let out the curses festering deep within me as a response.

Shall there ever be a next time, I’ll change how I live.” Mahito, the cursed spirit with patches running through his face, looked at Sukuna with an offended expression.” Asshole!

You’ve changed!” Sukuna only replied :” Naturally, I lost after all.” Continuing to walk North, to change who he is and have a chance at being reborn, Sukuna thus fell into the void itself.

After an unknown amount of time passed by, however, his eyes opened once again, recognizing the structure around him as one of those so called “Hospitals”.

He could swear somebody was screaming in here, right next to his ear, which annoyed him to no end.

He tried to sit up, only for him to blink, realizing that his arms were tiny and that he had only two arms, instead of four.

His eyes widened, realization kicking in, as the annoying crying of a child turned out to be his own voice producing it.

He tried to look up, only to see that everything was blurry, yet a face came into view.

A green-haired woman and a dark-haired man, the woman was holding him with utmost care, as if he were the most precious thing in the world.

The man’s voice suddenly cut through the crying, his tone deep and authorative.

“Looks like he got my looks, eh, Inko?” the man chuckled, looking at the child-like Sukuna with warmth in his eyes.

These were no doubt his parents in his new life, and he’s gonna make sure to learn companionship in this life.

To make sure that he could control his own death, to not die so suddenly at the hands of an opponent who bested him thanks to his arrogance.

With that particular line of thought ending, his eyes turned back to the woman, who was given “naming rights” by the man who was called Hisashi.

Inko’s voice, raspy and tired, cut through the awkwardness of the moment that felt a bit too long for Sukuna.

“Sukuna..

Let’s name him that.” Hisashi looked at her with a surprised expression, before speaking :”Didn’t you want to name our child Izuku?

Why the change of heart?” Inko replied, much more confidently this time.

“It’s because I want to save that name for our second child, Hisashi.

Don’t tell me you forgot about our promise already, and I feel like Sukuna fits him because of the obvious mutation quirk he’s got.

Look at his extra set of eyes!” She pointed out, which confused Sukuna greatly.

What was a quirk?

This question went unanswered, his father looking at the newborn with narrowed eyes, before speaking.” Whatever you want, babe.” And that, is how the King of Curses was reborn in a world where the impossible was possible, where heroes with hearts so pure exist, paralleled by villains that are almost as corrupt as his past self was in the Heian Era.
