Sukuna, after returning home from his first ever hangout in this life, was frowning.

Don’t get him wrong, it was amazing, by all means.

Nejire was fun to talk to and teach, Mirio and Tamaki were a no-brainer, since they were his childhood friends, and Yuyu and Tsuki were also good acquaintances.Full novel: The Double-faced Specter — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was just..

He still felt incredibly lonely.

He missed someone.

Sukuna, after greeting his mother and checking on Izuku, went into his bedroom, staring at the wall with a serious expression.

‘What am I missing?’ Sukuna thought, hand on his chin.

‘I have everything I could have ever asked for.

I have a family, friends, mentors and even a bright future ahead of me.

So why…

Why do I feel like crying?’ Sukuna sat down on his bed, standing up again when he felt something beneath him.

Looking at it, Sukuna’s eyes widened.

It was a drawing of Uraume.

And then, everything clicked.

Sukuna realized why he was feeling this aching, painful void in his chest.

It wasn’t because he was missing something in THIS life..

It was because he was missing someone from his past life.

Izuku reminded him so much of Uraume that it began to subconsciously hurt him, Sukuna realized.

It was no wonder that he forgot, really.

Sukuna was almost always working every single day for fifteen years.

The fact that he even remembered Uraume at all was a miracle, yet..

He can’t help but thank his past self in this life for keeping this drawing.

He had drawn this, knowing that he most likely would forget about Uraume, which would lead to him most likely traveling down a darker path.

Because, if Sukuna forgot the first ever man that he raised, why wouldn’t he forget his original purpose?

It was such simple, yet grounding logic.

His eyes felt itchy, with tears quietly prickling at the corners.

Sukuna wiped them before they fell, catching himself before he began to truly cry.

He wasn’t truly there, yet.

He wasn’t at the stage where he could forget about his past life, wasn’t at the stage where he could move on from the fact that Uraume wasn’t with him anymore.

Even a cursed wretch like him could sob, which was ironic.

He chuckled, grabbing the drawing, as he reaffirmed his own views and goals.

It was stupid of him, really, for feeling hurt.

He knew that wherever Uraume was, whoever Uraume had reincarnated into..

His student, or son, wouldn’t want to see him like this.

It was insulting to Uraume, as well.

Because Sukuna almost let himself get distracted..

By pain, of all things.

Pain was nothing, since Sukuna felt it all the time.

He was going to get past this, going to achieve his goals, and going to raise Izuku into a much better man than Uraume was.

The reason?

It was simple.

It was because he was The Strongest.

And The Strongest would bear the weight of the sky itself, if it meant protecting their loved ones.

Something that he learned from Satoru Gojo, making him chuckle yet again.

That man was truly infuriating, as he kept teaching even Sukuna beyond the grave.

Shaking his head, Sukuna went out of his room, going to the basement, as he grabbed a nearby toolbox.

A simple nail and hammer was all he needed for what he was going to do.

Going back upstairs, Sukuna put the nail over Uraume’s drawing, before firmly hammering it into his wall.

To remind him who he was changing for, and the reason why he lost in the beginning.

A thought suddenly crossed his mind, making him smile yet again, this time feeling nostalgic.

“A Harima statue, eh?” He began to laugh quietly to himself.

“You truly were special, Itadori Yuji.” He muttered, before covering his body with his blanket.

Closing his eyes, Sukuna drifted off to sleep, reliving his memories with the only person that hadn’t grown cold alongside him in his past life.

____________________ Waking up in the morning, Sukuna walked outside of his room, going to the bathroom and doing his daily routine.

Brushing his teeth, slicking his hair back and dismantling any overgrown hair strands, washing his face and putting on a moisturizer.

Sukuna was finished, walking out, as he greeted Izuku.

“Good morning.” He waved at his younger brother, who nodded at him, walking inside the bathroom.

“Good morning, older brother..” Izuku mumbled, tired.

Sukuna noticed that his mother was still asleep, meaning that she didn’t have any work to do today.

It was an off day for her and Izuku, yet he still had school.

Sukuna went into his room, changing into his uniform, before looking at his wall.

“I hope that wherever you are, you are happy.” He quietly muttered to the drawing, before walking out of his apartment.

Walking towards U.A, Sukuna didn’t realize that at this point, he had truly moved on.

____________________ Reaching the school, and his classroom, Sukuna smiled upon seeing his classmates.

Mirio, noticing his friend finally arriving, waved at Sukuna excitedly.

“There you are!

I was wondering when you’d show up.

You know, for someone who lives so close to U.A, it’s a bit rude to be fashionably late, isn’t it?” He teased.

Sukuna rolled his eyes, replying.

“I don’t care.

As long as I’m here before Aizawa, anything is fair game.” Still, he smiled at Mirio’s words, remembering yesterday’s talk with him and Tamaki.

“Hope I haven’t bankrupted you guys, but it’s kind of your fault, you know.” He winked at Mirio, who began to act like he was broke, taking out a wallet from God knows where and opening it, only for a fly to comically come out of the wallet.

“The betrayal..

How much betrayal can my heart take?

You really didn’t hold back at all, Suku-chan.” Tamaki was bewildered by the sudden appearance of his childhood wallet, before realizing that yes, it was indeed Mirio who stole it.

His expression turned dark instantly.

Sukuna, seeing this, had his smile widen.

He tapped Mirio on the shoulder, breaking the taller boy out of whatever comedy act he was in.

“Hey, buddy.

I think you have much bigger fish to fry than my fashion sense.” He gave him a sympathetic smile, before sitting down in his desk, which was right besides Mirio and Tamaki.

____________________ Aizawa, who was walking to his class, suddenly heard a wail coming from it.

He rushed in, expecting students fighting…

Only to be left bewildered by whatever was happening in said classroom.

Nejire, Yuyu and Tsuki were cheering for Tamaki, who had Mirio pinned down on his desk by his arm.

Tamaki, who looked enraged beyond belief, was twisting at Mirio’s arm, while Mirio was the one who was shouting in pain.

The class was divided into two sides.

One side that told Mirio to get back up and fight, and the other side was cheering for Tamaki to get his justice.

Well, almost the entire class.

Since the troublesome child that was Midoriya, was sitting right next to them, acting like nothing was happening.

Aizawa sighed, knowing that this batch of students would truly kill him with headaches..

How about it?

Hope you guys liked it!
