God was gone.
But that last look of panic... what was that about? Honestly, it's got me seriously worried. Maybe he forgot to tell me something important? Well, whatever. I got what he gave me. A little mistake like that, no big deal.
Or maybe he just dropped his toast. I mean, buttered toast always lands butter-side down, am I right? Why does that even happen?
Anyway, no use dwelling on what's already gone. No point moping. Time to put God's advice to use.
I drop my gaze back to my phone, the app still open.
"Huh? What's this?"
At the bottom of the screen, three icons: [Custom], [Save], and [Status]. One of them—[Status]—had a little "!" mark on it.
Curious, I tapped it open.

I had a name now.
So this was God's "last special present," huh. But why this name?
Amduskias... if I recall, that's the demon who appears as a unicorn and grants musical blessings. One of Solomon's seventy-two demons—number sixty-seven on the list.
Wait, why do I even know that?
My brain helpfully searched and landed on "otaku." Okay. Not sure how that helps. And I have absolutely no clue why "otaku" even came up.
...Whatever.
Anyway. Time to follow God's advice.
I walked to the end of the corridor extending from the white room I'd just created—about five meters long. The corridor was made of the same pure white stone, with a white wall at the end. Light somehow poured down from the ceiling, so it wasn't dark. Still... I was starting to miss seeing the sky.
First things first: I'll make a big hall here, and then stairs leading up to the surface. I'll need a bedroom too, and a bathroom.
Tap [Custom]. Then [Dungeon]. [Create]. I made a room about three times the size of the room I'd just been in. Save.
"Yep, still gross."
Watching solid stone slither and shift... it's just wrong.
"I mean, I made it myself, but... man, this place is HUGE."
Big, big, huge pure-white room. It'd take a few minutes just to walk from one end to the other. While I was at it, I started filling the room with furniture.
A round table. Chairs. One whole wall mirrored, with a closet attached. A china cabinet with ceramic dishes, silver knives, forks, and spoons. Bathroom, obviously—flushing toilet, washlet included. Since I might get more residents later, separate ones for men and women. The bath would be a big communal one—mixed gender. No, wait, it's for water conservation! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Tap-tap-tap in [Custom], building as I went, until I reached the wall.
"Looks good. Okay, save."
I turned around to find a full living room had appeared. Three new doors had appeared too—leading to the bedroom, bathroom, and the big bath. Not that I could use the bathroom or bath yet. No water.
"Seriously, this is way too easy."
In just a few minutes, I'd built a living room that looked like it belonged in a mansion. At this rate, I could build the Great Wall in a single day.
Actually, that sounds fun. A Great Wall-style dungeon. Though it'd be just one straight path, so calling it a dungeon might be a stretch...
Anyway, specifics later. For now, focus on what needs doing now.
I spun around again, and there it was—a new corridor. Across from the one I'd come in from, another passage extended outward. This one led to the surface.
But leaving it without a door felt wrong. So I added a set of double doors. Then one on the opposite corridor too.
"Nice. It's actually starting to look like something."
I gave the room one last look around, then opened the doors and headed deeper inside.
Summary:
The protagonist discovers he has been named Amduskias after God's abrupt departure, questions his strange knowledge of Solomon's demons, then proceeds to build and furnish a large dungeon living space with surprising speed and mundane attention to amenities.
Trivia:
The protagonist's HP is 100010/100010, a very high amount for level 1.
Amduskias is the 67th demon in Solomon's hierarchy and appears as a unicorn.
The protagonist is wearing a gakuran, sneakers, and has a smartphone as equipment.
The status screen has an expandable Appraise skill (▼).
The Great Wall reference is both a joke and a hint about future dungeon plans.
Translation Notes:
1 ↩ Traditional Japanese school uniform with standing collar and brass buttons; kept as loanword for cultural specificity.
2 ↩ Japanese bidet toilet with integrated cleaning features; a cultural luxury item with distinctive associations.
3 ↩ Grimoire reference from Western occult tradition; number sixty-seven is Amduskias, a unicorn-riding demon associated with music.
Notes:
• God - An ancient, divine benefactor and guide to the protagonist, this deity oversees departed souls with a paternalistic yet playfully childish personality. Speaking with casual, modern exasperation, they act as a protector who grants power while maintaining a rational, persuasive demeanor. Though appearing only as a voice, they frequently apologize for their intimidating presence while seeking favors in return.
• Amduskias - Job: Demon Lord/Dungeon Master; Relationship: Follows God's guidance; Appearance: Wears gakuran and sneakers; Item/Magic: Mana Spring, Divine Protection, Appraise; Note: Self-deprecating, easily distracted, pragmatic.
