Ma Fang broke into a cold sweat instantly, his legs shaking uncontrollably.

He was completely finished now!

“Dr. Ma, I need you to give me an explanation,” Mu Anqian said, displeased.Full novel: The Get-Rich System: The True Heiress Stuns the World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ma Fang stammered, “I, I don’t know, maybe my diag-diagnosis was wrong…”

“You nearly killed my grandmother, and now you think one line about a misdiagnosis is enough to brush me off?” Mu Anqian said angrily. “And you were rude to Wanshi just now too! Is this what passes for a doctor at ‘Drunken Sea and Clouds’? Even if this is a restaurant and not a hospital, if you call yourself a doctor, you should at least have professional ethics!”

The restaurant’s manager and staff all felt too embarrassed to show their faces, shooting resentful glances at Ma Fang.

“Get your restaurant’s owner here right now!”

The restaurant owner naturally wasn’t at the restaurant at all hours.

Hearing Mu Anqian say this, a manager hurriedly took out his phone to call the owner.

Anyone who could run such a high-end restaurant as “Drunken Sea and Clouds” surely had some money and status of their own.

But whatever money and status they had seemed to count for nothing in front of the Mu family.

Ma Fang trembled even harder, his composure completely shattered, and he simply dropped to his knees in front of Gu Wanshi, begging, “Miss, I failed to recognize someone as accomplished as you just now, and my words offended you, please forgive me! Please save me, please save me!”

Ma Fang knew that Gu Wanshi was now Madam Mu’s life-saving benefactor, if Gu Wanshi spoke up, Mu Anqian would surely let him off!

He tried to crawl toward Gu Wanshi, but Zhao Tong stepped in front of her in time.

“Sorry, I can’t help you,” Gu Wanshi said flatly. “I can overlook what you said to me, but you didn’t even care about a living human life… I can’t help someone like you.”

Ma Fang was nearly in tears.

Losing his job was a small matter now, facing a lawsuit was the real problem!

If the Mu family wanted to make things difficult for him, they could absolutely make him wish he were dead!

The restaurant owner still hadn’t arrived, but the traffic outside had already eased considerably, so Mu Anqian hurried to get Madam Mu to the hospital.

Before leaving, Mu Anqian and Madam Mu once again thanked Gu Wanshi profusely and exchanged contact information with her.

Not long after they left, the restaurant owner arrived, drenched in sweat.

The owner first gave Ma Fang a thorough scolding, then rushed off to the hospital.

Gu Wanshi and Zhao Tong returned to their own private room.

“What took you so long?” Gu Wanhe asked, puzzled.

The soundproofing in the private rooms here was very good, and the door to their room had been closed the whole time, so although she’d vaguely heard some commotion outside, she hadn’t been able to make out what was happening.

Gu Wanshi gave a brief account of what had just happened.

Gu Wanhe was astonished all over again. “Wanshi, you, you actually know medicine too? I had no idea at all! Do Second Uncle and Second Aunt know?”

She used to think Gu Wanshi was quite ordinary, even timid.

But now it seemed Gu Wanshi was leagues ahead of Gu Wanning!

Why would Second Uncle and Second Aunt neglect such an outstanding biological daughter to dote on an adopted one instead?

“No need to tell them.”

Gu Wanhe thought about it and agreed.

Gu Wanshi was already preparing to make a move against Gu Corporation, which meant she no longer considered her own biological parents family, putting it more bluntly, she probably already considered them enemies.

There was no need to tell them anything more than necessary.

But Gu Wanhe was now extremely glad she’d agreed to work with Gu Wanshi.

She had a feeling that Gu Wanshi would end up the ultimate winner.

At the hospital.

The doctors gave Madam Mu a full examination and said there was nothing seriously wrong with her, though it would still be best for her to stay in the hospital and rest for a few days.

So Madam Mu was admitted to a luxury VIP room on the top floor of the hospital.

Half-reclined in her hospital bed, Madam Mu kept murmuring about Gu Wanshi.

“That child really is something else, pretty, kind-hearted, and so skilled in medicine at such a young age, and she’s clear-headed about right and wrong, calm and rational too. Xiaoqian, you should really learn a thing or two from her.”

“Mm-hm!” Mu Anqian nodded rapidly like a chick pecking at rice. “Once Grandma’s discharged, I’m definitely going to treat Wanshi to a meal, and pick out a really good gift for her!”

Just then, the hospital room door opened, and a tall figure hurried in.

“Grandma, are you all right?” the man asked urgently as he walked to the bedside.

“Zecheng’s here.” Madam Mu smiled fondly. “The doctors already did a full checkup, I’m fine, I’ll be fine after resting in the hospital for a few days. No need to worry.”

Only then did Mu Zecheng feel relieved.

“Oh, so big brother actually remembered to come,” Mu Anqian said sarcastically. “I thought big brother only had eyes for the company and money, turns out you still remember Grandma exists!”

Mu Zecheng glanced at her and said flatly, “If certain people would pull themselves together and actually go help at the company, I wouldn’t have to be buried in it every single day.”

“What did you say!” Mu Anqian jumped in anger. “Are you talking about me?”

“That’s enough, you two,” Madam Mu said, her head aching. “Can you two not start fighting the moment you see each other?”

These two siblings had actually gotten along quite well as children, why did they snap at each other over everything now?

“Grandma, aren’t you going to say something to him too? If it weren’t for running into Wanshi today, you would have…”

Realizing what she’d been about to say was inauspicious, Mu Anqian caught herself in time.

“Wanshi?” Mu Zecheng seemed somewhat taken aback.

Despite her dissatisfaction with her older brother, Mu Anqian still chattered away, recounting what had happened at the restaurant.

“Wanshi is our Mu family’s life-saving benefactor!”

Mu Zecheng nodded, then asked, “Is her full name Gu Wanshi?”

“Yes… how did you know?” Mu Anqian eyed him suspiciously. “Don’t tell me you know Wanshi too?”

A rare flicker of amusement crossed Mu Zecheng’s eyes. “You could say that.”

More accurately, he knew of her, while she had never so much as spared him a glance.

Mu Anqian wanted to ask more, but Mu Zecheng had already turned to Madam Mu. “Grandma, you really need to take better care of your health from now on. Once you’re discharged, I’ll arrange for a private doctor to come check on you every day.”

Hearing this, Madam Mu immediately grew troubled. “Every day? Eldest grandson, isn’t that a bit too—”

“There’s no room for discussion,” Mu Zecheng said, his tone leaving no argument.

Madam Mu shot him a resentful look, then instantly joined forces with Mu Anqian. “When it comes down to it, wasn’t it you who made me sick with worry in the first place? If you’d just find me a grandson-in-law’s wife sooner, seeing that would make me happy, and I wouldn’t have gotten sick at all!”

Mu Zecheng seemed already used to this line of talk, his expression not shifting in the slightest.

“Wait!” Madam Mu’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if that Wanshi child could become my granddaughter-in-law!”

“No it wouldn’t!” Mu Anqian said immediately. “Wanshi is pretty and amazing, how could my brother possibly deserve her? Hmph.”

Mu Zecheng: …You really are my own sister.
