The National Diet Building.
To be exact, Japan has different types of Diet sessions—regular, special, and so on. Explaining all that would take too long, so check Wikipedia if you're curious.
Some people confuse Wikipedia with Uncyclopedia, but that's fine. This story is basically an Uncyclopedia article that somehow came to life.
"Prime Minister, shouldn't we place Lynbel-san under national protection?"
The sudden proposal came from the leader of a small opposition party.
Lynbel-san was a Dark Elf—a race that didn't exist in this world.
Protecting her made sense.
"Prime Minister Adachi-kun," someone called.
"Yes. Indeed, those who came from another world might face danger. We've assigned guards to protect them, but..."
Adachi hesitated.
The opposition leader grinned inwardly.
If the guards failed, this was his chance to score political points.
He just had to expose the failure and demand responsibility. Easy work.
"The attacker who tried to harm Glyos-san the Emperor ended up as a test dummy for wrestling moves.
The agent who tried to kidnap Lynbel-san fell under her illusion spell and turned himself in.
And the man who approached Elte-san the Apprentice Reverse Summoner was mauled by a giant anteater."
"...."
The chamber fell silent.
The guards had indeed been useless—but in a direction no one could have predicted.
No one even knew what to criticize anymore.
Apparently, someone also tried to kidnap Shina-san.
Unfortunately for them, Adachi-kun happened to be nearby and dealt with it himself.
Now Shina had fallen for him all over again. Adachi was basically glowing with romantic flags, but since even Amaterasu-sama couldn't blow him up with her divine "riajuu explosion," human curses had no effect.
"Now then—"
"...Fufufu."
A strange laugh echoed through the hall.
"Because you relied on that cheap trick called reverse summoning, I decided to intervene. And what do I find? Pathetic weaklings."
Before anyone noticed, a man in black stood in the center of the chamber.
His face was pale and beautiful, his teeth long and sharp like needles.
No one could mistake him for a human. Tension spread among the members of parliament.
"Ku-ku-ku. Are you afraid, humans? I am Grauze, Duke of the Demon Realm's Crimson Legion! Prepare to pay for your foolishness!"
"Excuse me, coming through!"
"Gyaa!?"
...What?
Just as the so-called Duke struck a pose, a girl in white robes appeared.
Grauze screamed as light filled the chamber.
The air changed in an instant. Lawmakers froze in shock.
"...Amaterasu-sama."
"Ehh!?"
Even calm Adachi-kun's quiet words made the others panic.
The chief deity herself had appeared in the National Diet.
Everyone jumped off their chairs and knelt. Some went straight to full prostration—out of pure devotion, of course.
"Oh, sorry," Amaterasu said. "I only came because something weird got caught in my reverse summoning spell."
"I appreciate your concern," Adachi replied.
"Gyaaaaaa!"
They continued chatting in a relaxed tone while, behind them, the Crimson Duke writhed in agony.
Apparently, Grauze was a vampire.
Even with resistance to sunlight, standing before the sun goddess herself was like a slug doused in salt.
"Hmm. First, I'll confiscate this cursed sword."
"W-wait, that's my family heirloom!"
"And this necklace too—it's overflowing with dangerous magic!"
"My daughter gave me that for my birthday!"
Without mercy, Amaterasu stripped the smoking Duke of every suspicious item he owned.
At some point, everyone started feeling sorry for him.
"Okay, that should do it. Bye now!"
Having finished her business, Amaterasu cheerfully waved and vanished.
Apparently, she planned to return someday. For what reason, no one knew.
"Guh... ah..."
Grauze, the stripped Duke of the Demon Realm, stayed behind.
His head hung low, but from his voice, it was clear—he was crying for real.
"Maybe we should ask Lynbel-san to put a curse of obedience on him while we can," Adachi suggested calmly.
And thus, peace returned to Japan—at least for today.
