“Brother Lu… Lu?”

When Lu Qiwen snapped back to reality, he realized he had pinned Song Yu into a corner, one hand gripping the other’s wrist tightly, the other arm encircling his waist, almost trapping him between himself and the wall.

His nose couldn’t help but press against the side of Song Yu’s neck, greedily inhaling the faint scent emanating from him.Full novel: The Harder the Alpha Bully Kisses, the Harder His Beta Lackey Cries — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The sensation of contact was like sweet rain falling on parched land, causing every muscle in Lu Qiwen’s body to tense up as he let out a satisfied sigh.

“I… I can’t control it…” His voice was hoarse, as if in extreme agony.

Lu Qiwen rested his head on Song Yu’s shoulder, his breath against the neck rapid and scorching. Reason told him he should pull away, let go, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

In the next moment, all the suppressed desires surged forth, no longer merely craving the touch of a wrist or palm.

The arm around Song Yu’s waist tightened abruptly, roughly pulling him into an embrace, holding him close.

The heat radiating from the skin was startlingly intense. Instead of struggling, Song Yu froze, unable to resist asking, “Lu Qiwen, what’s wrong with you?”

This wasn’t the first time Lu Qiwen had heard his full name from someone else, but it was the first time he’d heard it from Song Yu.

The last shreds of his rationality ignited once more. Unconsciously, he began rubbing his feverish cheek against the hollow of Song Yu’s shoulder, craving the coolness of his body.

“It hurts…”

The trembling voice, filled with pain, reached Song Yu’s ears. He tilted his head, wanting to raise a hand to touch the other’s forehead, but Lu Qiwen misunderstood it as an attempt to break free.

“Don’t move.”

Lu Qiwen’s tone, like a child throwing a tantrum, made Song Yu both amused and exasperated. “I just wanted to see if you have a fever. Your body temperature is so high.”

“Just don’t move.”

“Alright, alright, I won’t move.” Song Yu allowed himself to be held in the other’s embrace, even though the force was frighteningly strong.

Sensing that Lu Qiwen’s current state was different from his usual childish and irritable demeanor, Song Yu recalled the loneliness and vulnerability he had felt in his previous life as a child in the orphanage when he fell ill with no one by his side.

With some effort, he managed to free his left hand from Lu Qiwen’s side and gently patted the other’s back. “There, there, it’s okay.”

“It’s just a minor illness.”

“It’ll pass soon.”

After all, you’re a main character in the original story.

Unable to resist, Song Yu lowered his gaze. From this angle, he could only see Lu Qiwen’s medium-length hair cascading over his collarbone, revealing an ear.

To his surprise, Song Yu noticed a small red mole behind Lu Qiwen’s ear. He couldn’t help but remark, “You actually have a mole behind your ear.”

Lu Qiwen’s body stiffened slightly. His long eyelashes trembled as he felt Song Yu’s gentle movements, the touch sending electric currents throughout his body, instantly soothing the restlessness in his blood and the tormenting thirst.

Seeing Lu Qiwen relax, Song Yu couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

It’s a good thing he’s straight. Otherwise, with Lu Qiwen being so good-looking, someone else might have taken advantage of his vulnerable state.

Gradually, the only sounds left in the private room were the intermingling breaths of the two and the peach soda pheromones that filled the space, almost tangible in their intensity.

When Jiang Yuanheng rushed over, he nearly choked on the pheromones flooding the upper floor. He shoved Cheng Yao, who was about to step out of the elevator, back inside. “Don’t come up.”

“What… what’s going on?” Before Cheng Yao could even process it, Jiang Yuanheng had already closed the elevator doors again.

“Wait for me downstairs.” Jiang Yuanheng patted his head.

Cheng Yao glanced up at him, pursed his lips, then lowered his gaze to hide the disappointment in his eyes, nodding slightly.

“The whole floor is filled with that idiot’s pheromones. You know how it is.” Jiang Yuanheng’s eyes darted away.

Cheng Yao instantly understood the implication. Whether it was because he had overthought things earlier or for some other reason, his cheeks flushed bright red. “Okay.”

“I’ll wait for you downstairs.”

When Jiang Yuanheng stepped back inside, he felt the concentration of pheromones had only intensified. “Hey! Lu Qiwen, you’re not dead in there, are you?!”

Jiang Yuanheng had to suppress every instinct to keep his own pheromones from leaking out. He waved to the burly men standing behind him. “All betas, go in and find Lu Qiwen.”

But whether they were betas or alphas, every single one of them was overwhelmed by the sheer intensity and density of the pheromones. They all froze in place, using every ounce of strength just to keep from collapsing or fleeing in disgrace.

“Tch.” Jiang Yuanheng couldn’t bring himself to blame them.

“All of you, go downstairs and seal off this entire area.”

When Jiang Yuanheng entered the private room, Song Yu casually raised a hand in greeting. “Halo.”

Jiang Yuanheng stared in disbelief.

Song Yu was about to speak again when Lu Qiwen tightened his embrace, murmuring into his ear, “Don’t talk to him.”

“He’s your bro.”

“Still no.”

“It’s just a greeting.”

“Absolutely not.”

With each question, the other’s grip grew stronger. Song Yu finally gave in. “Fine, fine.”

After all, the guy was currently delirious with fever, how could he possibly remember any of this later?

Given the original school bully’s personality, if he did remember, he’d probably want to kill him…

When the ambulance arrived, Song Yu simply held Lu Qiwen’s hand and walked him out. To Jiang Yuanheng, the sight was nothing short of astonishing.

After a thorough examination, Lu Qiwen’s vital signs were so chaotic that the doctors felt they could write a research paper on him.

As for Song Yu…

Despite the terrifyingly high concentration of a top-tier alpha’s pheromones in that room, enough to overwhelm even a beta, causing fear, panic, and even physical and mental distress, Song Yu showed no reaction at all. In fact, he seemed perfectly content, healthier than ever.

Jiang Yuanheng stood with his arms crossed, watching Song Yu devour his meal.

Feeling the other’s gaze, Song Yu covered his food with his hand. “I’m already halfway through this!”

Jiang Yuanheng’s lips twitched as he walked out of the room. “Take your time.”

Outside, Cheng Yao stood by the bed, his eyes filled with concern. “Are you really okay, Song… classmate?”

“Ah, come on.” Song Yu waved a dismissive hand. “Don’t call me ‘classmate’, it’s too formal. Just call me Song Yu or Xiao Yu.”

But as soon as the words left his mouth, Song Yu fell silent.

The original character would never have said something like that!

Just as he was thinking about how to argue with the system, he realized something.

The system hadn’t shown up at all.

In the next room, Lu Qiwen lay with his hands crossed behind his head, staring unblinkingly at the ceiling.

Jiang Yuanheng walked in, holding a medical report in his hand. “What are you looking at?”

“It seems he really likes me.”

Jiang Yuanheng: ??
