Kamari

I arrive home from school and I take a shower and change my clothes. I had a great day of school considering how I was treated at my old school. The kids were so cruel to me at my former school. I could tell the kids at my new school are at least friendly to me and I received quite a few smiles and positive compliments about my style of clothing. I design my own clothes and jewelry.

I head downstairs to meet with my father and I ask him what he would like for dinner. I have taken over all of the cooking since my mother passed away three years ago. I am still unclear on the details of her death. My dad rarely talks about her passing to me and I just let him be. Perhaps he feels as though he is protecting me from something or someone. My father informs me that we are going to meet someone for dinner. This is news to me because we never have dinner with others not since before my mother passed. I try to pry and ask who we are meeting but he just smiles and kisses me on my cheek. I sure do wonder who could be special enough to bring on this change in our routine.

I go upstairs to change into something worthy of this dinner “date.” I put my hair up into a sophisticated updo for the occasion. I hope that my choice is pleasing to my father as I head back downstairs. By the look on my father’s face and his smile, I can see that he approves of my choices of clothing and hair. We head out the door for our dinner “date.”

Erik

I am thoroughly excited about tonight. I have met this woman of whom seems so familiar to me but I can’t quite place her in my memory bank. We met today in town and we had quite the conversation about life. I felt as though I have known her all my life even though we have only met today, I think.

I wait for my daughter as she steps down the back stairs of our new home. Kamari looks beautiful tonight. It always amazes me on how truly talented my daughter is in designing her own jewelry and clothing. Her mother was very talented in her youth and I can see that our daughter has gained my late mate’s gifts of art. She was the most talented artist right up until she was brutally stolen from me right in front of me. I never talk about the events that led to my mate’s death to Kamari. I do not want to shatter my daughter’s innocence. It has been three long years, but now I believe it is time to move forward in love if this new woman is the one. Mystic, such a unique beautiful name.
