“Big brother, just who is Mr.

Su anyway?

Even Mayor Dong is so courteous to him.” One of the subordinates, standing to the side, asked in puzzlement.Full novel: The Icy CEO’s Personal Divine Physician — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They all knew that in the East City District, Dong Lin’s word carried a lot of weight, not only because of Dong Lin’s own status but even more because of the family power behind him!

Seeing Dong Lin being so courteous to a young man was truly surprising to them.

Yang Zicheng turned his head to glance at his subordinate, his expression growing slightly grim, “Don’t ask what you shouldn’t!

Be more careful in the future, and don’t cause trouble for me.

This is not someone we can afford to mess with.”

“Yes!” the subordinates standing behind him all shuddered in unison, immediately responding.

Su Han walked out of the KTV, just about to hail a taxi home, when he saw a police car driving down the street and slowly stop in front of him.

He stood there, watching as a woman in uniform stepped out of the car, her posture upright, looking very valiant.

However, her eyes seemed to carry a trace of disdain.

“Are you alright?”

Lin Lin gave Su Han a glance, her eyes sweeping over him with some disdain.

If it wasn’t for Qiao Yushan calling her to help, she really wouldn’t have wanted to come forward.

She found such men despicable.

Su Han smiled wryly, a flash of helplessness across his face.

He knew that the person in front of him was the chief of the police station and a close friend of Qiao Yushan, her best friend indeed.

It was Qiao Yushan who had found her to get him bailed out the last time he was taken into custody.

Seeing that look in Lin Lin’s eyes, Su Han knew she must have misunderstood him as well.

He was just about to explain when Lin Lin already pulled open the car door to leave, then suddenly stopped, turned her head, and said to Su Han, “I don’t care what kind of marriage agreement you have with Yushan, but I must tell you that you’re not worthy of her.”

With his mouth agape, Su Han had yet to say a word when Lin Lin continued, “Flirting with women in the streets, you can do such indecent things.

I really don’t know what kind of judgment Grandpa Qiao has.

You haven’t even graduated from college, and although you finally have a job, just put some effort into it.

Stop causing trouble for Yushan all the time.

I need to remind you that a man should have his own competence.

What dignity is there to speak of for a man who lives off a woman?”

Lin Lin’s eyes were full of loathing, and she couldn’t even bear to take another glance at Su Han.

She truly felt sorry for her best friend, to be engaged to such a man – uneducated, and always causing trouble.

Was this really her destiny?

The world seemed so unfair.

Su Han didn’t speak.

He knew that explaining was pointless.

If someone trusted him, he wouldn’t need to explain; if they didn’t, no explanation would suffice.

“Hmph, you know what you should do,” said Lin Lin, thinking that his silence was an admission of guilt, and after giving him a look of anger mixed with contempt, she spoke no more, got in the car, and drove off abruptly.

Su Han stood there, watching the car drive away, only to shake his head helplessly, “My abilities, how could they possibly be understood by you.”

He didn’t dwell on it any further, hailed a taxi, and headed home.

He had promised Dong Lin to help General Dong with his health the next day and still needed to prepare the prescription.

Qiao Family Courtyard.

In the hall, Qiao Yuman paced back and forth, appearing anxious and somewhat guilty.

If it wasn’t for her, Su Han wouldn’t have gotten into such trouble.

He was completely looking out for her well-being, and thinking of what Wu Hongwei had said about how Yang Zicheng was not to be trifled with, if something happened to Su Han, she’d lose her brother-in-law.

It was only at this moment that she realized that Su Han wasn’t bad, and even if he wasn’t outstanding, he was still kind-hearted and manly enough to stand up and protect her when danger loomed.

“Sister, has Sister Lin Lin gone yet?

I hope nothing happens to my brother-in-law,” Qiao Yuman turned her head, looking at Qiao Yushan anxiously seated on the sofa.

If something were to happen to Su Han, she would indeed feel terribly guilty.

Qiao Yushan frowned slightly when she heard her sister calling Su Han brother-in-law, and looked at her with some surprise, “Lin Lin messaged me and said Su Han is fine.”

On hearing her sister say Su Han was fine, Qiao Yuman patted her little chest and sighed in relief, “That’s good, that’s really good.”

“Yuman, don’t you really hate him?”

Qiao Yushan gave her sister a look, with a hint of surprise in her eyes.

It was Qiao Yuman who had wanted to take Su Han out and give him a harsh lesson.

Yet, at this moment, this girl was worried about Su Han.

With her fearless nature, it really was strange.

“Tch, he is quite annoying indeed!”

Now that she knew Su Han was okay, Qiao Yuman relaxed as well, and rolling her eyes at Qiao Yushan’s question, she grew even more indignant at the thought of Su Han driving the car to the point that she was scared and even threw up.

How could her driving skills be worse than Su Han’s?

But then she remembered how Su Han had stepped forward to protect her from being bullied in the KTV, and she felt a touch of gratitude.

“Sis, do you really hate brother-in-law?” Qiao Yuman didn’t realize how naturally the term ‘brother-in-law’ had come to her.

Qiao Yushan turned away, looking at the TV, seemingly not having heard Qiao Yuman’s words.

Do I really hate Su Han?

She herself didn’t know.

Maybe it wasn’t Su Han she disliked, but rather her own destiny, not able to control her own life, having to obey Grandpa’s words and marry a good-for-nothing man.

Qiao Yushan was the goddess of Tianhai City, an elite in the business world, but what about Su Han?

He was someone who hadn’t even graduated from college, someone who needed to rely on connections just to find an internship.

Was such a man worthy of her?

Qiao Yushan shook her head, dismissing the thought outright, yet she felt despair because she couldn’t change the marriage arranged by her grandfather.

Seeing that Qiao Yushan was ignoring her, Qiao Yuman didn’t want to ask any more.

She grabbed her purple hair tips and let out a long sigh, shaking her head as she walked upstairs, muttering to herself, not sure if Qiao Yushan heard, “I actually think brother-in-law has more of a man’s appeal than others…”

In the living room, the sound of the TV drama continued, but Qiao Yushan’s mind had wandered elsewhere, lost in her thoughts.

Outside, Wu Mom’s voice came through, “Young Master, you’re back.”

“Mhm, Wu Mom, it’s getting late, you should rest early,” Su Han’s voice came from outside.

A jolt went through Qiao Yushan’s heart, but she didn’t turn around, seemingly realizing that Su Han’s troubles ultimately stemmed from her.

Su Han walked in, seeing Qiao Yushan sitting on the sofa watching TV with no intention of acknowledging him, he didn’t want to be snubbed either, and went straight upstairs to his room.

Not a word was exchanged between them.

As Su Han’s footsteps slowly faded on the stairs, Qiao Yushan sneaked a glance and couldn’t help but bite her lip, “Staying out so late, not even a greeting, huh?”

She had thought Su Han would be angry, or at least scold her a few times since Qiao Yuman taking him out with the intent of giving him a lesson was, after all, approved by her; Su Han must have been able to guess as much.

But he didn’t pay any attention to her, not even a word.

Did this guy truly despise her that much?
