As soon as she thought about what Su Han had said earlier about not liking her and telling her not to overthink because forced melons are not sweet, a hint of anger began to surface in Qiao Yushan’s heart.
“Hmph, who cares!” Qiao Yushan turned off the TV, stomped upstairs in her cute fluffy slippers, entered her room, and firmly shut the door.
Wu Ma entered the living room, tidied up the pillows on the sofa, and arranged them neatly, her face full of smiles.
“The son-in-law is here, this home has become livelier indeed.”
After taking a shower, Su Han got rid of the smell of smoke and alcohol.
He really did not like places like nightclubs, and thinking about everything that had happened at the KTV, he still felt somewhat helpless.
He did not want to reveal his true capabilities, as the old Daoist had said, the knowledge he possessed was too shocking, and he should keep a low profile whenever possible.
But in this society, it was difficult to stay under the radar.
There always seemed to be some trouble coming his way, and Su Han did not want to put himself or those around him in difficult situations.
“What the master meant by training must be these experiences,” Su Han thought.
“Heaven’s Scroll is still blank; I need to find my own opportunities, and I still don’t know where these so-called opportunities are.”
Su Han shook his head, stopped thinking about these issues, and after preparing a prescription for General Dong, he immediately began to practice.
In the Heavenly Scriptures, he had already reached a very high level in both the Scroll of Man and Scroll of Earth.
Each practice session offered a new understanding, yet Heaven’s Scroll remained blank.
This time, his descent from the mountain was also to find that so-called opportunity to fill in the contents of Heaven’s Scroll.
Such powerful scriptures needed his additions, and just thinking about it made Su Han feel it was quite challenging, but the old Daoist had said that this was his opportunity to seize.
Without thinking further, Su Han completely immersed himself in his own world, diligently practiced, and soon entered a mysterious state.
Meanwhile, in Qiao Yushan and Qiao Yuman’s room, one sister lay on the bed listening to music, and the other sat in a chair, frowning thoughtfully, seemingly having different views of Su Han because of the day’s events.
The night passed quickly.
Su Han slowly opened his eyes.
Since practicing the Heavenly Scriptures, he rarely slept, spending the nights in practice.
After every practice session, he did not feel a trace of fatigue, but rather, he felt invigorated.
After washing up, he went downstairs, where Wu Ma had already prepared breakfast.
Seeing Su Han rise so early, Wu Ma said with a smile, “Son-in-law, please have breakfast.”
Smiling, Su Han greeted her, “Wu Ma, I haven’t tried your cooking yet, let me see.”
Although he had told Wu Ma to just call him little Su and not ‘son-in-law,’ since Mr.
Qiao had instructed her, Wu Ma naturally inclined more toward listening to Mr.
Qiao, and Su Han did not say much about it.
He sat down to eat breakfast and learned from Wu Ma that Mr.
Qiao had gone out for morning exercises early and would return later.
Su Han knew that Mr.
Qiao had had an accident when he was young that almost implicated the entire Qiao Family.
Fortunately, his master, the old Daoist, had passed by and saved the Qiao Family.
As a result, Mr.
Qiao had promised that Qiao Yushan would marry the old Daoist’s disciple as a gesture of gratitude.
But who would have thought that the old Daoist’s disciple would be himself?
While he was thinking, Qiao Yushan had finished getting ready and softly descended from upstairs.
Qiao Yushan looked exceptionally beautiful today, her face lightly made up, which made her appear composed and elegant.
She put up her hair efficiently, and as she walked down the stairs and saw that Su Han was already seated and eating, she slightly frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then sat down and began to eat the breakfast which Wu Ma had prepared.
Qiao Yushan didn’t look at Su Han, acting as if he didn’t exist at all, and Su Han similarly didn’t look at Qiao Yushan, with each of them treating the other as air, their eyes fixed only on the breakfast in front of them.
The scene was somewhat amusing, the two of them clearly sitting opposite each other, yet neither lifted their heads.
Su Han quietly ate his breakfast, not saying a word, which somewhat displeased Qiao Yushan.
Early in the morning, not even a greeting?
Did Su Han truly harbor grievances?
She couldn’t help but sneak a few glances at him.
Upstairs, Qiao Yuman was yawning, her hair still somewhat messy, and upon smelling the aroma of breakfast, she couldn’t resist anymore.
Having only had some wine last night, she was famished.
She was groggy, about to head downstairs, but then she saw her sister eating breakfast with Su Han, which instantly sobered her up.
She stopped, stealthily leaning on the railing, staring at the two of them.
Below, Su Han and Qiao Yushan continued to eat, heads bowed.
Su Han hadn’t lifted his head at all, but Qiao Yushan, inadvertently, snuck a couple of glances at Su Han, not escaping Qiao Yuman’s vigilant eyes.
“Hehe,” Qiao Yuman couldn’t help but laugh.
Below, Qiao Yushan suddenly felt her face turn burning hot, as if she had done something disgraceful, her complexion swiftly flushing red.
She immediately put down her utensils, stood up, and left in a fluster, “Aunt Wu, I’m in a hurry, I’m not eating.”
Having said that, Qiao Yushan then clacked away in her high heels, hastily exiting the door, while Su Han then raised his head to see her barely touched breakfast, feeling somewhat helpless.
He hadn’t really done anything, had he?
He talked, and Qiao Yushan wasn’t happy, now he doesn’t talk, and she’s still not happy?
Su Han truly felt helpless.
“Hehe, brother-in-law, good morning,” Qiao Yuman leaned on the railing, squinting her crescent-moon-like eyes and smiling at Su Han.
She thought to herself, “Hmph, sister, this hypocrite, still claims she detests brother-in-law?
Liar!”
“Good morning, come down and have breakfast,”
Su Han smiled, seeing that Qiao Yuman seemed to have a better attitude towards him, even greeting him, he responded.
Qiao Yuman rubbed her hair, like a mischievous sprite, clattered down the stairs, pulled up a chair, and plopped down next to Su Han, propping her chin with her hands, grinning, “Brother-in-law, sorry about last night, hehe.”
Su Han shook his head, knowing what Qiao Yuman was referring to, “It’s alright, just be more cautious in the future and try to avoid those kinds of places.”
Qiao Yuman hummed an agreement, suddenly acting obedient, but Su Han knew she probably wouldn’t listen to him.
“Brother-in-law, you really were manly last night!” Qiao Yuman blinked her large eyes, giving a thumbs up, praising Su Han before she sprinted off to the kitchen to wheedle some treats from Aunt Wu.
Su Han paused, then laughed, manly?
In that sort of situation, any responsible man wouldn’t stand by and watch a woman be bullied.
He had finished eating, just about to clear the dishes when Aunt Wu came out, breakfast in hand, with the tail-like Qiao Yuman following her.
“Son-in-law, I’ll take care of it.
Go ahead if you have other things to attend to,” Aunt Wu said with a smile.
Su Han smiled, nodding.
He had the day off and didn’t need to go to the hospital, but he had promised Dong Lin to check on General Dong’s health, and he wanted to get that done early.
“That would be kind of you, Aunt Wu.” Su Han said, then turned and left the house, calling Dong Lin.
