Human Form

His long, glossy white hair cascaded down to his waist just like Lang Zhan’s. His eyes were round and clear with a slight upturn at the corners. His nose was straight, but the tip was rounded. His lips were a pale pink with a slight, cat-like curve.

He was incredibly beautiful, yet not at all aggressive. Perhaps it was the perfectly proportioned curve of his eyes that gave his face a clear, innocent look, while also possessing a strange allure.Full novel: The Kitten Was Coveted by a Wolf King — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lang Zhan held his breath with a flicker of surprise, unnoticed even in himself, flashing in his eyes.

Lang Zhan had heard from the geese who brought sea salt from the market that if they continued south, the female merfolk in the sea were more beautiful than any he had ever seen. Their skin was a translucent white, and their smiles were captivating.

Unfortunately, the merfolk refused to marry land-dwelling races; otherwise, he would have stayed on the coast and never returned.

At the time, Lang Zhan thought the Goose Tribe was exaggerating; how beautiful could the females really be? But now, a thought suddenly popped into his mind: perhaps they really were.

Having transformed into human form for the first time, Bai Lou felt a mix of joy and curiosity. Looking down at his own body, he seemed thinner and paler than the others.

However, he didn’t mind. He was a cat, and these were all large wolves so comparing his size to them was just asking for trouble.

Looking up at Lang Zhan, Bai Lou leaned closer and roughly compared his height. He was more than half a head shorter. Bai Lou was delighted, he felt like he was almost 1.8 meters tall.

Looking at Bai Lou, who was looking at him with eyes full of smiles, Lang Zhan’s Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily. He awkwardly looked away. “Alright, let’s go.”

Seeing him turn around, Bai Lou quietly followed. Although it felt a little strange, walking normally wasn’t a problem.

“Hiss.” Stepping on a pebble, Bai Lou gasped.

“What’s wrong?” Lang Zhan quickly turned his head, his gaze sweeping over Bai Lou before settling on Bai Lou’s raised foot.

Those feet were fair and delicate, he roughly knew what had happened.

Lang Zhan sighed helplessly, “You…” Since beastmen usually switched between beast and human forms, they generally didn’t wear much clothing on their feet.

They were physically strong with thick calluses on their feet, so walking was usually effortless. Unlike Bai Lou, who could easily trip over a small pebble.

Bai Lou wiggled his foot, also somewhat helpless. He had only conjured a fur skirt around his waist, imitating Lang Zhan and the others and he simply didn’t know how to create shoes.

“Could I put on some fur?” Bai Lou cautiously asked Lang Zhan. He had seen Lang Yue and the others wearing fur yesterday.

“Go back inside first,” Lang Zhan instructed, then went to a small stone hut in the courtyard and found two pieces of animal sinew.

When Lang Zhan entered, Bai Lou was sitting on the bed, lost in thought. He was mentally browsing the Multiverse Mall, checking what items he could possibly need, and the more he looked, the more useful everything seemed.

However, Bai Lou glanced at Lang Zhan who had just entered, and… well… he hesitated to take anything out. It felt too out of place here, and besides, he couldn’t afford too much right now.

Lang Zhan first glanced at his feet. His toes were rounded, and the tips and soles were pinkish. Being a beastman, he was at least uninjured.

Carelessly picking up a piece of animal hide, Lang Zhan hesitated for a moment, looked at Bai Lou who was looking up at him, and reluctantly put the hide down to rummage through it.

Seeing him rummaging with one hand, Bai Lou obediently went over to help him hold the pile of hides.

Lang Zhan pulled out two white animal hides—rabbit fur, the softest to the touch. He hadn’t touched Bai Lou before, but just looking at them made him seem delicate. He felt that even slightly rougher fur might chafe Bai Lou’s feet.
