Low-Grade Spirit Beast Meat

Bai Lou reached out and touched the animal hide. “So soft, but it’s white. Are we going to use it to wrap our feet?” It seemed a bit wasteful.

Lang Zhan hummed in agreement. Since he couldn’t use one hand, he handed the hide and tendons to Bai Lou so he could do it himself. “Rabbit fur is soft. Wear the fur inside, it’ll be more comfortable.”Full novel: The Kitten Was Coveted by a Wolf King — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Bai Lou wasn’t nearly as fragile as Lang Zhan thought. He was a demon, and although he was somewhat weak due to the lack of proper cultivation techniques and wasn’t a body-refining cultivator, he was definitely much stronger than a female.

No one would refuse something more comfortable. Bai Lou placed the animal hide on the bed, his fair feet stepping onto the fluffy fur. The feel was so pleasant that he couldn’t help but curl his toes. No wonder everyone loves petting cats and rabbits.

Lang Zhan glanced at him and then turned his head away. “I’m going out first. Come find me in the yard when you’re done bandaging.”

Bai Lou finished bandaging his feet and stepped out to test them. They weren’t exactly comfortable, as they didn’t fit snugly against his feet and felt a bit tight.

It was the middle of summer, and Bai Lou suspected that by evening, the smell of the hide would make him faint.

But there was no other way now. Bai Lou took out his detection ring from his spatial storage and put it on his little finger. Hmm, some money! He wanted to buy a recipe for animal hide boots or straw sandals.

When he reached the yard, Lang Zhan was waiting for him in front of a small stone house. Bai Lou hopped over to him in a few steps.

“I’m here!”

Lang Zhan didn’t say anything and went straight into the stone house.

The stone house was divided into two rooms. The room near the entrance was filled with various sizes of pottery jars and stone pots, as well as two campfires. One had a grill on it, and the other had a large, shallow pottery jar on it.

Lang Zhan moved the door of the inner room and led Bai Lou inside.

This was a “food storage room.” Inside was a dinosaur leg, the very one he had hunted yesterday. The leg was a full two meters long.

“Ding, detected item available for listing. Determined to be low-level spirit beast meat, wind-type sub-dragon family, edible. Flesh, scales, and bones are tradable.”

An electronic voice sounded in his mind. Bai Lou paused, glancing guiltily at Lang Zhan. Seeing that he seemed not to hear, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Bai Lou covered his nose as the smell of blood in the room was quite strong.

Lang Zhan walked to the beast leg, and Bai Lou carefully followed, avoiding the bloodstains on the ground.

Lang Zhan picked up a stone knife from the wall and handed it to him. “If your claws can’t tear the meat, you can use this stone knife.”

This knife used to belong to his mother and father. Beastmen claws were sharper than any stone knife, but he clearly didn’t trust Bai Lou’s claws, which couldn’t even pierce his own fur.

Bai Lou took the knife and used it to chop at the dinosaur’s leg. With a snap, Bai Lou removed the knife and examined it. Hmm… he had only managed to cut a scale.

He looked up at Lang Zhan blankly. This knife didn’t seem very effective.

A moment of silence fell. Lang Zhan’s left hand transformed into a wolf claw, and he viciously tore a large chunk of flesh from the beast’s leg.

“You have to cut along the wound. The dinosaur’s scales are very hard so a stone knife can hardly break them.” He placed the meat in a nearby stone basin and tore off another piece.

Bai Lou looked at the two large chunks of meat in the basin. That must weigh over ten pounds! He quickly stopped Lang Zhan, who was about to continue.

“That’s enough, that’s too much.”

Lang Zhan’s arm was grabbed, and he felt that hand was excessively soft and smooth, making him afraid to pull away.

“It’s not too much. You don’t need to worry about not having food. My share is plentiful. Even if I finish it all, I can share it again.” He was strong and had acquired a lot of prey, giving most of what he couldn’t eat to the tribe.

So if he needed more food, he could get enough from the tribe.
