Selling Medicine
His soul power materialized in the space, and Bai Lou entered the room where the system’s operating interface was located. He lay down on the soft couch and scribbled on a piece of paper, listing the things he needed to buy.
He wanted many things. Bai Lou listed the most urgent items: salt, ginger, methods for making shoes, methods for making a basket, and methods for making cleaning supplies.
Putting down his pen, Bai Lou began searching on the mirror. Basic supplies like salt and ginger were readily available but Bai Lou’s problem was finding a convenient way to access them.
“Rock salt?” Bai Lou read aloud the title of a product. It was a semi-transparent white crystal. The shopkeeper’s description was “Edible rock salt, suitable for use in special dimensions where refined salt cannot be used.”
The shopkeeper’s online status was lit up; Bai Lou clicked on it.
“Hello, how big are the rock salt crystals? Can I just crush them and eat them?”
The shopkeeper replied quickly, “We have all sizes, starting from 3 jin (1.5 catties). Rock salt is coarse salt and needs to be purified before eating. If you really can’t purify it, you can leave it unpurified for now. This rock salt is very pure; if you’re healthy, eating a little won’t hurt.”
Bai Lou wrinkled his nose. “How do I purify it?”
The shopkeeper: “Purification is a skill, and I can’t tell people directly QAQ. However, I’ve applied for a free coarse salt purification skill book if you buy 20 kg of rock salt at once.”
20 kg? Bai Lou sighed. According to the minimum price limit set by the mall, 1 jin of salt costs at least 5 Realm Coins. The initial 50 Realm Coins the mall gave him couldn’t buy much so he could only reach the minimum purchase price for a regular shop. He simply couldn’t afford 20 kg of salt right now.
“How about 5 kilograms? QAQ?”
Shopkeeper: “To be honest, I’d even accept it for free, but that damn mall system won’t allow it. Basic skill books like this sell for at least 50 Realm Coins. The only reason it got approved is because I’m selling coarse salt.”
Bai Lou sighed. “Wait a minute, I don’t have enough Realm Coins right now. Let me see if I can sell something to make up the difference.”
Shopkeeper: “Good luck!”
The vegetables and fruits were harvested along with Lang Zhan, so they’re not suitable for sale right now.
Bai Lou browsed the spirit fields in his space. They were planted with medicinal herbs, mostly ginseng, lingzhi, and he shou wu, and a few others he didn’t recognize.
These were planted by the previous host and had been growing for two years.
The spirit fields in the initial spirit spring space are equivalent to twenty years of cultivation outside, meaning these herbs currently have the medicinal power of forty years.
Actually, they’re not very valuable now and will only be truly valuable after a hundred years.
However, Bai Lou couldn’t wait that long. He figured it was better to sell some now, so that once his space level improved, he could grow hundred-year-old medicinal herbs in a year.
He picked a few herbs and hung them in his shop, labeling them as produced by his Spirit Spring Space, and priced them according to the reference prices provided by the mall.
Thinking that selling goods would take time, Bai Lou decided to look at other items first.
But just as he was about to switch interfaces, he saw that the shelves were sold out. Bai Lou stared in disbelief as his friend request page kept buzzing, quickly turning into a red 99+.
When the notifications quieted down, Bai Lou clicked on it and found a familiar figure—the owner of the shop called “Life’s Little Shop,” the one where he had previously wanted to buy rock salt.
After accepting the friend request, Bai Lou typed a question mark.
