Healing

“What’s this?” The old man with beast ears looked at Bai Lou curiously and asked.

Lang Zhan and Bai Lou exchanged glances for a moment, but Lang Zhan didn’t tell it to get down. He continued walking forward, carrying the cat pendant, and replied, “I found it in the Forest of Ten Thousand Beasts. It looks like a kitten, but it says it’s not. I thought I’d bring it back for you to see.”Full novel: The Kitten Was Coveted by a Wolf King — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Anyway, it’s so weak it can’t cause any trouble. The priest has divine power and is the wisest elder in the tribe so he should be able to find out the cat’s origin.

If its origin is legitimate, even an adult beastman wouldn’t be out of the question.

The Beastman Continent is divided into two genders: beastmen and females. Beastmen like Lang Zhan can switch freely between human and beast forms.

Females are those with beast ears and tails. They can bear offspring, cannot retract their beast ears, and cannot transform into beast form. They are much weaker and fewer in number than beastmen.

The unbalanced gender ratio means that some beastmen will inevitably be unable to find female mates.

Beastmen are physically strong and have intense desires, so it’s impossible for them to suppress their desires for a lifetime. Therefore, some beastmen who can’t find female mates choose to live with other beastmen, which also helps them survive better.

There’s a significant connection between a beastman’s beast form and human form. Beastmen like Bai Lou, with their beautiful and delicate beast form, usually also take that form when they transform into human form.

Although a weak and timid cat isn’t his type, Lang Zhan knows that many in the tribe do, since some resemblance to females makes them more acceptable to the beastmen.

Provided they can afford to keep it and are willing to treat it like a treasure.

Lang Zhan thinks that this cat is so weak, it probably can’t do much work, and is likely not even as strong as a female wolf. It’s all show and no substance, useless.

The man, the wolf, and the cat walked into a large stone house. Lang Zhan glanced down at Bai Lou, who wisely released his paw and obediently sat down to the side.

Lang Zhan ignored it, transformed into human form, and sat down on a nearby stone bench, waiting for the priest to heal his wounds.

Bai Lou looked up at Lang Zhan. It was quite curious about the large wolf’s human form, mainly wanting to see if he had white hair since they both had white fur.

In human form, Bai Lou could see the numerous wounds on his body which were far more than the two it had seen before. The smaller wounds were hidden by long fur.

He wore a fur skirt matching his fur color around his waist, and even sitting, there wasn’t an ounce of fat around his waist. Eight-pack abs were clearly visible, and the lines of his V-line were faintly visible on his sides, though mostly concealed by the fur skirt.

Bai Lou looked upwards slowly. His chest muscles weren’t exaggeratedly bulging, and his arms weren’t thick enough to run a horse, every muscle line seemed meticulously designed and perfectly proportioned.

It could sense the power contained within this body, strong yet beautiful, rather than robust, it felt “slender” would be a more fitting description for Lang Zhan.

Paired with that handsome yet sharp face, Bai Lou thought, if this wolf were on Earth, it would probably have a huge following of female admirers wherever it went.

A head of long, snow-white hair cascaded down to its waist, surprising Bai Lou. He had seen many wolf demons with long hair in the crowd before, but none as long as Lang Zhan’s. In this tribal era, wasn’t long hair a hindrance?

Lang Zhan’s eyes were pale blue, and his narrow eyes were lowered, coldly observing the cat scrutinizing him inch by inch.

The priest, observing the white cat while pounding herbs nearby, noticed its gaze lingering on Lang Zhan’s long hair. A hint of curiosity flickered in his round cat eyes, and he said gently, “It’s probably because Zhan’s beast form has exceptionally long fur, so his human form’s hair is also very long.”

“Meow~” Thank you.

Bai Lou hadn’t expected the old man to explain, and after a moment of surprise, he quickly thanked him. His attention shifted to the old man, tilting his head as he looked at the red ears on his head and the large red tail hanging beneath his animal skin skirt.

That doesn’t seem to be a wolf’s tail, does it?

The old man chuckled softly, seemingly amused. His large, fiery red tail swayed gently, drawing the white cat’s gaze.

“I am a fox,” he said. “I married into the wolf tribe and was discovered to have a talent for priesthood. The wolves didn’t discriminate, and under the careful guidance of the previous priest, I took over the position.”

This was actually quite rare. Priests held power second only to the chief in a tribe, and were usually chosen from among its own members. However, neither the previous priest nor the then-chief cared about his race, for which he remained grateful.

After a moment’s thought, the priest scrutinized the white cat again and said, “There’s another female from the cat tribe who married into our tribe, named Mao Wen. Do you know her?”

He figured he probably didn’t. Although the cat tribe had more than one type of cat, this white cat seemed quite different from them all.

It wasn’t just his size, it was also a feeling. He felt that this white cat was different from everyone else there—a feeling he had never seen before, a feeling he couldn’t quite describe. “Meow~” He didn’t recognize it.

Bai Lou controlled his expression, trying to appear as calm as possible.

Married in… a son-in-law? He hadn’t realized such a thing existed in primitive society. The priest seemed to have a high status so it was impressive that a son-in-law had risen to this position.

But he didn’t seem to see any women—well, here they should be called females. How strange, so many people came to watch the spectacle, yet not a single woman. Did primitive societies still restrict women from leaving their homes?

Bai Lou’s mind wandered as he observed the priest healing Lang Zhan’s wounds.
