Next, Yun Xi began thinking about how she should live her life in this unfamiliar world.

She couldn’t just spend the rest of her life doing nothing every day, could she, three meals a day, everything handed to her, her whole world confined to the general’s estate, revolving endlessly around the handful of people in the Mu household. Wouldn’t she bore herself to death?

Understand, back in the modern world Yun Xi had been something of a genius, extremely high IQ, a photographic memory, her own laboratory, more patents than she knew what to do with. On top of that, she’d had her own hobbies, traveling all over the world, living every single day to the fullest. “Boredom” was a word that had nothing to do with her.Full novel: The Laid-Back Young Lady’s Leisurely Life After Traveling to Ancient Times — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But the things she’d learned in the modern world were of no use here now.

She’d probably get more mileage in this unfamiliar ancient era out of some book like Complete Guide to Planting and Cultivation or Efficient Livestock Farming Techniques, books she’d flipped through once and tossed aside without a second thought.

She had no interest in farming or raising pigs herself, but she could certainly have other people do the farming and pig-raising for her.

“If only my space had transmigrated along with me,” Yun Xi thought.

That space was something Yun Xi had acquired by chance back in the modern world. When she turned eighteen, her elder brother had spent several tens of millions at an auction to buy her a jade pendant as a coming-of-age gift.

She’d loved it and worn it on her at all times. One time she’d accidentally cut her hand, and her blood had gotten on the jade pendant. By sheer coincidence, the blood recognized her as its master, opening up the mustard-seed space hidden inside the pendant.

But once the space opened, the pendant itself disappeared from her hand. That space was extremely advanced, it had land, spiritual springs, room to plant crops, and even a bamboo pavilion packed full of all sorts of treasures, including elixirs, alchemy furnaces, and even books on cultivation. It seemed likely this space had once belonged to someone from a world of cultivators, left behind somehow.

In the modern world, Yun Xi had never touched the things inside the bamboo pavilion. She’d simply used the space as storage, tossing in anything that caught her eye, and had scattered a great many seeds in the space’s soil, things grown inside the space grew remarkably fast, and the quality was far better than anything from outside. Her space, one could say, had a bit of everything, practically a small world unto itself.

She’d only ever used it to store and retrieve things, rarely entering it herself, so its utilization rate hadn’t been especially high, to the point that in the sudden moment of disaster, she’d even forgotten to duck into the space to save herself.

But thinking back on it more carefully, she had no memory at all of exactly what had happened in that instant the disaster struck. She couldn’t recall it in the slightest.

Ah, she had no idea how devastated her modern-world parents and elder brother would be once they learned of her death.

Right now, Yun Xi found herself desperately missing her space. Clinging to a sliver of hope, she tried silently thinking the word “enter”, and then, miraculously, it happened. She really did get in.

Yun Xi practically jumped three feet in the air, shouting excitedly inside the space, “I really am Heaven’s own precious daughter!”

This wasn’t just idle boasting either, Yun Xi’s luck had always been absurdly, ridiculously good.

Now that she had the space back in hand, and everything inside it was still there, Yun Xi finally felt completely at ease.

She figured she should spend some time first getting familiar with and adapting to life in ancient times before making any further plans.

After all, Yun Xi had gotten used to living freely and doing as she pleased in the modern world. Now she’d become not just a general’s second wife, but a second wife from a family that didn’t match the Mu family’s social standing, in an era that placed such heavy emphasis on family background, that put her at a considerable disadvantage.

Although Yun Xi herself was confidently self-assured, she still had to live in the general’s household for the time being, and she didn’t want to be too eccentric about it. She still needed to first figure out the rules of the household.

At the very least, she couldn’t let people start thinking she was some kind of demon or a madwoman!
