Tae-hyuk stood in the cascading jet of the shower, washing away the cold adrenaline with scalding hot water.
As he toweled, he was careful not to rub the angry, stinging scratches on his chest and collarbone, where Seo-jun had dug his nails during their second round.
They were a reminder that the stubborn Prime Alpha had been there and bent him to his will.
Looking in the mirror as he pulled on a clean shirt and a charcoal suit jacket, Tae-hyuk traced the smoldering dark eyes that regarded him.
Locking Seo-jun up and treating him as a prisoner was out of the question, it would only generate a deeper hatred in his chest.
If Tae-hyuk wanted to hear that velveteen voice murmur his name and feel those beautiful eyes looking not at Seo-jun’s sister, but at him, he would have to earn it.
He would do anything to earn it; he would have to learn how to court him, lower his own guard, shower him with gifts, or wait patiently at his door if that was what he had to do.
Seo-jun would feel Tae-hyuk’s attention on him, make him laugh, and in time, fall in love with him.
A discreet knock on the door announced Secretary Kim’s arrival as he stepped into the master suite, his ever-proud posture careful not to step on the various damp and wrinkled clothes lying on the floor.
“Vice Chairman, I have the background check on the clinic you requested,” said Kim, pushing a pair of glasses up his nose.
“What did you find out about Dr.
Yoon?” asked Tae-hyuk, turning to face him.
“Dr.
Yoon is the chief director at St.
Jude’s Medical Center, a private clinic that specializes in the cases of rare secondary gender presentation and the administration of a high-grade suppressive medication,” began Kim, sliding a sleek black tablet across the marble countertop.
“We’ve found no information that would implicate any foul play on Mr.
Han’s presentation, and it appears to operate strictly confidentially and ethically…” Tae-hyuk scanned through the documents before him, his eyes skimming over the credentials.
“…For now, keep an eye on Dr.
Yoon.
If so much as a whisper of Seo-jun’s medical records gets out, he will wish he’d never been born.” “Understood, sir,” Kim gave a small bow before exiting, leaving Tae-hyuk alone with his thoughts.
Both Kim and Tae-hyuk were unaware that Dr.
Yoon was practically on payment from Director Cha Sung-won to take in Seo-jun under his care and get him out of Kwon’s hands.
To Tae-hyuk, he was just another doctor that had looked after his Omega.
Kim checked his watch, sighing heavily.
“Sir, you must hurry back to the main estate.
The Chairman has called for a family meeting.
It was the day of celebration, but Tae-hyuk’s shoulders stiffened at the reminder.
The family dinner at Kwon’s place was never a lighthearted celebration.
Though their secondary genders may have manifested in terrifying forms, the Kwon siblings made for a surprisingly closely knit family that cared for each other.
With eight highly dominant personalities, it made for a difficult household to manage, but a united Kwon front ruled the business empire known as Kwon Enterprise.
Presiding over them all was the Eclipse Alpha, their father, Kwon Seung-ho.
A strict, uptight, and traditional Alpha who ruled the household and business with an iron fist.
Seung-ho had high hopes for all his children, and his booming voice would be enough to strike fear in even the most disobedient child’s heart.
His younger brother, Hae Min-jae, took care of his children.
A rare, breathtaking Pureblood Omega who radiated unending gentleness, and his kind eyes could soothe even the grumpiest Eclipse Alpha.
Min-jae was the caring heart of the Kwon family, and not a single member would dare to upset him.
The rest of the siblings were all as frightening as their father, but in their own way.
Their eldest brother, Kwon Do-hyun, was a Dominant Enigma – a second-tier Alpha with a mind like a steel trap.
Do-hyun ran the family enterprise’s international branches smoothly and effortlessly, and in his more relaxed moments, served as the anchor that kept his younger siblings in line.
Below him in age and rank were the twin brothers, Kwon Jae-ha and Kwon Hyuk-jae – two highly competitive and rowdy Dominant Alphas with no fear of their own power.
Loud and boisterious, they treated every meal as a martial arts competition, wrestling each other across the floor and toppling expensive ornaments just to best each other.
The youngest of the siblings was their sister, Kwon Chae-won.
A sharp-tongued, spoiled, and brilliant Omega, she reveled in causing mischief and making trouble for her brothers.
She was as unpredictable as the weather, but with her fathers’ constant support, Chae-won grew up used to getting her way.
Her antics gave her the reputation of being a troublemaker, although in truth, she played her brothers far too well to ever come out on the losing end of a fight.
“Are they all there already?” asked Tae-hyuk as he adjusted his cufflinks.
“Chairman Seung-ho and Master Min-jae arrived an hour ago,” said Kim, giving a small smile.
“The twins broke a priceless vase in the foyer arm-wrestling; Director Do-hyun is in the library reviewing some documents; and Lady Chae-won is egging the twins on.
The Chairman is most displeased with the vase, so if you are running late, his lectures will be twice as long.” Tae-hyuk gave one last lingering look at the disheveled bed before exhaling slowly, his fingers brushing against the soft cotton sheets, still smelling faintly of Seo-jun’s shampoo.
“Let’s go, then,” he murmured, his voice softer than usual as he stood.
“I don’t want my father to send someone after me.”
