Ankit rested quietly in his mother’s arms.

His mother looked at him with a gentle smile before softly saying, “Come on, my little one.” “It’s finally time.” “Today, everyone will give you your name.” Hearing those words, a tiny smile appeared inside Ankit’s mind.

Name me if you can.

Let’s see what ridiculous name you’ve all prepared.

Because no matter what happens…

My name is going to be Ankit.

Just wait and watch, Mom…

You’re all about to witness how a name is truly chosen.

A large table had been prepared for the ceremony.

One by one, all the guests took their seats around it, while Ankit’s parents stood at the front with Ankit in their arms.

Glancing around, Ankit’s mother leaned closer to her husband and whispered, “Where are they?” “They should’ve arrived by now.” Ankit’s father awkwardly scratched the back of his neck and replied with a nervous smile, “Dear…

why are you getting so worried?” “I’m sure they’ll be here any moment.” “They’re quite old now.” “It probably just took them a little longer to get here.” Just then, his eyes lit up.

“Oh!” “They’re here.” An elderly man and an old woman slowly walked toward the gathering.

The moment Ankit’s father saw them, he hurried over with a smile, respectfully greeting them before escorting them to the ceremony.

He led the couple to the table and seated them in the places of honor at the very front.

After they were seated, Ankit’s parents stood respectfully beside them.

Ankit’s father then spoke to everyone gathered.

“Now that the elders of our family have arrived…” “Let’s begin the naming ceremony.” The old man gently took Ankit from his mother’s arms.

“Oh…” “You’ve already started growing, my grandson.” “Hahaha…

You really take after me.” Hearing that, Ankit thought to himself, So…

these are my grandparents?

Yeah…

they must be my grandfather and grandmother.

Just then, the old woman pouted slightly.

“Are you going to keep him all to yourself?” “Or are you going to let me spend some time with my grandson too?” She carefully took Ankit into her arms.

The moment she looked at him closely, surprise flashed across her face.

She turned toward Ankit’s father.

“Sore…” “Is it really true?” Ankit’s father nodded.

“Yes, Mother.” “I was just as surprised.” Ankit’s grandfather chuckled softly before waving his hand.

“Alright, enough about that.” “He is our grandson…” “And the precious child of this family.” “So let’s stop wasting time.” “We need to choose a worthy first letter…” “A letter that will become the beginning of his name.” Holding Ankit in his arms, his grandfather smiled warmly.

“Alright.” “Let’s find the first letter of this little one’s name.” He slowly closed his eyes, and the entire garden fell silent.

Everyone waited in anticipation.

A few moments later, he opened his eyes.

“The first letter of his name…” “…shall be A.” Ankit’s eyes instantly lit up.

W-What?!

Grandpa, you’re amazing!

You just made my job so much easier!

The guests immediately began thinking of names that started with the letter A.

Ankit’s mother was the first to speak.

“I know!” “Let’s name him…

Ale.” The smile on Ankit’s face disappeared.

…What kind of terrible name is that?!

The next second, he burst into loud cries.

“Waaahhh!” His mother panicked.

“My baby!” “What happened?” “Why are you crying?” Ankit’s grandfather gently raised a hand.

“Wait.” “Let me see.” He looked into Ankit’s eyes with a thoughtful expression.

“My little grandson…” “Do you not like that name?” The moment he asked, Ankit immediately stopped crying.

He gave a tiny nod.

Silence.

Everyone froze.

Except for Ankit’s grandfather, his father, and the elf, every guest—including Ankit’s mother—stared at him in complete disbelief.

“…He understood?” Their eyes remained fixed on the baby.

Ankit’s grandfather suddenly laughed and clapped his hands.

“Hahaha!” “Then let’s think of another name.” For a moment, nobody spoke.

After witnessing what had just happened, everyone hesitated to suggest another name.

Just then…

A hand was quietly raised.

It was the elf.

“If you don’t mind…” “May I suggest one?” Inside his mind, Ankit sighed.

Let’s see what kind of weird name she’s about to come up with…

His grandfather smiled.

“Of course, my dear.” “Go ahead.” The elf looked at Ankit before speaking with a gentle smile.

“I think…” “His name should be…” “Ankit.” Ankit’s eyes widened.

W-What…?

How…

how does she know my name?!

Before he could process it, his mother frowned slightly.

“Ankit?” “That’s such a strange name…” The instant those words left her mouth, Ankit burst into joyful laughter.

“Giggle…!” He stretched both of his tiny hands toward the elf, clearly wanting to go to her.

His grandfather looked at him with a smile.

“So…” “My grandson…” “Do you like this name?” Without the slightest hesitation, Ankit nodded vigorously.

Once again, everyone was left speechless.

The guests looked at one another, unable to believe what they had witnessed.

Ankit’s grandfather laughed heartily and clapped his hands once more.

“Then it’s decided!” “From this day onward…” “My precious grandson shall be known as…” “Ankit!”
