It took two full days of filming before this episode of “Happy Parent-Child Travel” Show finally came to an end.

As soon as filming wrapped, Wen Chengxi had the Qiao family come to pick up Lianlian.

Originally, he had planned to take Lianlian back to the Wen Family residence to play after this episode.Full novel: The Little Baby Searches for Her Mommy; the Entire Internet Rushes to Adopt Her — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But now, he didn’t even mention it again.

When the Qiao parents arrived, they immediately began flattering him.

“Young Master Wen, thank you so much for taking care of Lianlian these past few days. Lianlian, quickly thank your Dad Wen! From now on, he’s your father too, understood?”

They kept trying to push the relationship between Lianlian and Wen Chengxi.

Wen Chengxi smiled faintly. “No need to say that. It was just a variety show. Lianlian and I are only partners. How could I really be her father?”

The Qiao couple stiffened awkwardly.

They immediately sensed it—Wen Chengxi’s attitude toward them was no longer as warm as when they first met.

Back then, on the first day of filming, when he learned they had been in a car accident, he rushed over immediately and even encouraged Lianlian to call him “Dad.” He had been extremely affectionate.

Now, he had become distant.

The Qiao parents forced a smile. “Our Lianlian is very well-behaved, and—”

Before they could finish, Wen Chengxi interrupted.

“The filming for this episode has ended. The next one starts next Monday. I’ll send someone to pick up Lianlian, or you can bring her yourselves. The next location won’t be the amusement park anymore; the program team will notify you.”

With that, he turned and left.

Niannian was still waiting for him.

He was going to take her back to the Wen Family residence.

The little one had no idea where her biological parents were, and after filming ended, she had nowhere else to go.

He had already arranged with the police guardian for her to stay temporarily at the Wen Family residence.

“Niannian, would you like to go to Dad Wen’s house?” he asked, then suddenly sighed. “Ah… Dad actually doesn’t want to go back either. Unfortunately, my old man’s birthday is the day after tomorrow. If I don’t go, my legs might actually get broken.”

Niannian looked worriedly at his legs. “Grandpa… is Dad Wen’s grandpa? Is he… that scary?”

Then she glanced at her own little legs too, equally worried.

Would her legs also get broken…

Thinking of the old master, even Wen Chengxi felt a bit uneasy.

“Not exactly scary,” he said awkwardly. “Just… very strict. Very cold. Anyway, he shouldn’t bully a child like you.”

Besides, he was just bringing home a “free granddaughter.”

It should… be fine, right?

He stopped overthinking and lifted Niannian into his arms.

“Let’s go.”

Old Master Wen and Wen Chenfeng sat facing each other.

The old master was eighty, but still sharp and imposing. His gaze was like an eagle’s—deep and piercing.

As the heir to Wen Family Corporation, Wen Chenfeng carried an aura of restrained authority. His features had faint mixed-race contours—handsome, but cold and intimidating.

The two generations shared the same quiet severity.

They discussed company matters briefly.

Every answer from Wen Chenfeng was concise, precise, and decisive.

Old Master Wen nodded in satisfaction. “With you handling the company, I don’t need to worry much.”

Wen Chenfeng gave a slight nod, waiting for the next topic.

As expected—

“However,” the old man continued, “your marriage still worries me. When are you getting married?”

Wen Chenfeng replied calmly, “I haven’t met the right person yet.”

The old master frowned. “What kind of person are you waiting for? As the head of the Wen Family residence, your marriage is not something you can decide yourself. I hope you understand that.”

He had married young and always longed for a big family.

But fate had only given him one son.

And that son and daughter-in-law had died in a plane crash before they could even see their children grow up.

Now the Wen family line felt too thin.

All his hopes rested on his two grandsons—Wen Chenfeng and Wen Chengxi.

Especially for heirs.

Wen Chenfeng’s gaze flickered briefly, as if something crossed his mind.

“I’m not in a rush,” he said evenly. “Let Chengxi go first.”

At the mention of Wen Chengxi, the old master frowned deeper. “That boy plays around all day. What decent girl could he even meet?”

Wen Chenfeng calmly poured tea. “The entertainment industry has many people. He has more options there.”

The old master scoffed. “Those entertainers? Hardly respectable.”

Wen Chenfeng’s hand paused slightly. “Every profession has its own excellence. There are outstanding artists in every field. Work isn’t divided by nobility or lowliness. That’s a biased view.”

The old master glanced at him. “Rare of you to speak so much—just to contradict me.”

Wen Chenfeng calmly explained, “Chengxi is currently on a variety show. It’s quite popular and has boosted one of our company’s products, so I’ve paid a little attention.”

As for whether he was watching the show… or watching someone in it—

only he knew.

The old master remained stubborn. “That’s still not respectable work. All that posing and smiling for attention—embarrassing. Anyway, I won’t talk about it anymore. The daughters of my friends are returning home. At your grandfather’s birthday banquet, you will meet them properly.”

“I refuse,” Wen Chenfeng said flatly.

“You—!” the old master began—

Knock knock.

“Old Master, Young Master, Second Young Master has returned.”

Wen Chenfeng stood immediately. “I have company matters to handle. I’ll return to my study.”

He left without waiting for a response.

As he stepped out, he vaguely heard the butler say:

“The Second Young Master brought back a little girl. She looks very well-behaved.”

The old master replied disinterestedly, “A child? One of his messy friends’ kids?”

The door closed.

The sound was cut off.

Wen Chenfeng paused briefly.

The child Wen Chengxi brought back… it should be that girl called Niannian.

He sat down behind his desk, fingers lightly tapping.

After a moment, he opened his laptop.

He navigated to the official “Happy Parent-Child Travel” Show website.

Then paused.

And clicked into Yu Chu’s livestream room.

It showed:

He had replayed the livestream six times.
