11 – You don’t even know how much I like you, why don’t you want me?
When Jiang Yihan saw the marks of injury on the girl’s hand, his pupils abruptly contracted. He grabbed her hand and demanded, “What happened?”
“That was self-inflicted, young master,” Lin Da explained.
The girl hung her head low, her fluffy hair slightly disheveled, making her appear truly unprotected, bullied, and utterly helpless.
“You’re my man, my husband. Can you protect me?” Bai Ruanruan hooked her little finger around Jiang Yihan’s, lowering her posture to the extreme and perfectly portraying the innocence of a “little white lotus.”
That day, Jiang Yihan was overwhelmed by the impact.
She had promised to behave and not run off anymore. She called him her man and asked him to protect her.
In that moment, Jiang Yihan held Bai Ruanruan tightly in his arms as if hiding a treasure, shielding her completely. He shot a chilling glare at Lin Da and ordered, “Get out.”
“…Young master.”
It was all in vain.
“Young master, you have to believe me. All of this was done by her,” Lin Da said, pointing to his own head.
Jiang Yihan sneered, “Are you trying to say that a weak woman like her beat up over a dozen servants to the state you’re in, and then cut her own hand?”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“She did beat them, but she’s no weak woman.”
A weak woman?
She might as well be a Barbie on steroids.
Jiang Yihan’s expression darkened. “Get out.”
“Young—”
Lin Da wanted to say more, but the words died on his lips as Jiang Yihan’s glare silenced him. He whispered softly, “Young master, that soup can’t—”
Without changing his expression, Jiang Yihan picked up the soup Bai Ruanruan had made beside him and drank it all in one go in front of Lin Da. “Get lost.”
“!” Lin Da clenched his fists again, his face flushed with anger as he glared at Bai Ruanruan. “Yes.”
The “weak” Bai Ruanruan nuzzled deeper into Jiang Yihan’s embrace, burying her face in his chest. She could feel a murderous aura emanating from him.
In the end, Lin Da left the bedroom, fuming with rage.
Bai Ruanruan had better not fall into his hands.
He would see how long she could keep up this act.
After Lin Da left, Jiang Yihan pulled the girl out of his embrace, grabbed her wrist, and asked anxiously, “How did you hurt your hand?”
Noticing his tense jawline, Bai Ruanruan withdrew her hand. “It was just an accidental cut. It’s nothing. If we waited any longer, the wound would have healed on its own.”
Jiang Yihan pulled her hand back again, opened a drawer filled with medicine, found a bandage, and carefully applied it to her wound.
“Jiang Yihan.”
“Hmm?”
“There’s something I want to discuss with you.”
Jiang Yihan froze, his voice hoarse and trembling slightly upon closer listen. “What is it?”
“Can you let me go out? Don’t lock me up anymore. From now on, I’ll come home on time every day and tell you wherever I go. Is that okay?”
Ha!
So this was her ultimate goal!
He knew it, he just knew it!
“Keep lying to me, Bai Ruanruan. Keep lying! Keep poisoning me!! Go out? Don’t even think about it!!”
She could lie to him, she could hurt him, but she could never go out. Never!
Jiang Yihan suddenly looked up, grabbed Bai Ruanruan by the shoulders, and shook her violently. A destructive aura surged in his eyes, overwhelming Bai Ruanruan completely. “You have no idea how much I love you. You always want to run away and leave me. Why? Why won’t you stay with me?!”
Bai Ruanruan leaped onto the bed, pinning down the out-of-control man, and pressed him gently, saying in a soft voice, “Don’t be fierce, okay?”
