Early the next morning, Liang Ling woke up in a haze and found that Wen Ming was no longer beside him.

He rubbed his sore eyes and carefully reached out to touch the gland at the back of his neck. His body temperature had dropped, and the pain had eased a lot.

Liang Ling sighed helplessly. Although he had never experienced a heat cycle in his twenty-two years of life, he had seen the reactions of other Omegas. Generally, it would last for a high fever of three to five days, and without mating with an Alpha, it would be difficult to suppress the heat. However, whether due to his pheromone disorder or not, cuddling with Wen Ming for a night had somehow been enough to cure it.Full novel: The Picked-Up Omega is Both Delicate and Flirtatious — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The price to pay was that his heat cycles were extremely unstable, coming whenever they pleased.

What should he do about this? Liang Ling rubbed his aching brow, his small face wrinkling into a bitter melon expression.

If only there were an imperial doctor here, his condition was already beyond what he could fix on his own.

Liang Ling quietly crawled out of bed. His clothes from last night were completely soaked in the bathroom. Just as he was hesitating whether to wrap himself in a bedsheet and go back to his own place to change, the bedroom door was pushed open with a creak.

Wen Ming was standing at the doorway holding a set of clean loungewear. Seeing that he was awake, he smiled faintly, “Get up. I have already asked for leave for you from Little Liu. Since you have a fever, just stay home and rest well.”

Looking at Wen Ming’s face, Liang Ling suddenly remembered what happened last night. His face turned red, and he said softly, “Thank you, President Wen.”

Wen Ming placed the clothes beside him. Hearing this address, he could not help frowning, looking both amused and exasperated, “So formal? Why were you not polite at all when you hit me last night?”

That is because you went a bit too far. Liang Ling muttered inwardly, catching a glimpse out of the corner of his eye of Wen Ming’s still-swollen eyes, and swallowed guiltily.

“President Wen, does it still hurt? Do you want me to apply some medicine for you?”

Wen Ming chuckled softly and shook his head, “No need, I just applied some earlier. Get up, I made your favorite mung bean porridge and mini spring rolls.”

Mini spring rolls? Hearing this, Liang Ling’s eyes instantly lit up. He immediately got up, dressed neatly, rushed into the bathroom to wash up, and sat obediently at the dining table, ready to pick up his chopsticks.

As a result, he was pulled right back down by Wen Ming.

“Um, what is it, President Wen?” Liang Ling was grabbed by the back of his collar, a mini spring roll still lingering affectionately between his lips as he looked at Wen Ming in utter confusion.

Wen Ming took the mini spring roll out of his mouth with some exasperation and shoved a cup of fragrant, warm Longjing tea into his hand instead, “How many times have I told you? You need to drink some tea to clear your stomach before eating. I just brewed this this morning, drink it before you eat.”

“Oh.” Liang Ling reluctantly began to sip it in small, slow sips. The liquid was warm and mellow on entry, with a lingering sweet aftertaste. A crisp, refreshing fragrance lingered at the tip of his nose, instantly warming up his stomach.

Liang Ling sniffed it intoxicantly. This scent was identical to the one on Wen Ming’s body, making him love it dearly.

“Ding-dong! Hello! Your delivery!”

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Wen Ming, who was watching the morning news on the sofa, raised the corners of his mouth and called out, “Coming!”

Liang Ling looked at him with some confusion as he walked back in carrying a large box. While drinking his porridge, he asked unclearly, “President Wen, what did you buy?”

Wen Ming smiled without answering, focusing entirely on lowering his head to unpack the delivery. Soon, a pile of novel little gadgets that Liang Ling had never seen before appeared right before his eyes.

Looking at those oddly shaped items, Liang Ling curiously walked over, squatted down, and picked up a silicone-made little whale. After studying it for a long time without figuring out what it was, he raised his face and asked Wen Ming, “President Wen, what is this?”

Wen Ming smiled, fished a remote control out from the pile, and handed it to him, “Press it and try. It is remote-controlled, low noise, and the silicone material is soft and gentle on the body.”

“What is this?” Liang Ling’s face was full of question marks, and he suddenly had an ominous premonition. After hesitating for a long time, he tentatively asked, “Could this… could this be?”

Wen Ming smiled and nodded, leaning over to whisper softly in his ear, “Next time you have needs, you can use this.”

Even if Liang Ling were a fool, he would have picked up on the hidden meaning in those words. He let out a loud “Ah!” and jumped backward, tossing the little toy a meter away. With a blushing face, he scolded angrily, “President Wen!”

Seeing his huge reaction, Wen Ming could not help but find it amusing. He crossed his arms and said, “What are you shy about? These are all normal physiological needs, I can understand them. See, to prevent you from getting bored, I even bought a lot of different ones.”

Liang Ling was so angry he wanted to punch him twice. He covered his ears and shouted loudly, “President Wen! Can you have some serious thoughts in your brain?”

Wen Ming frowned, pulled him over, patted his forehead, and looked at the furious Liang Ling as he said, “Are these not serious matters? Every time you have an urge, you run a fever. Although it is not a big deal, we cannot hide from sickness and refuse treatment either! I asked my personal doctor this morning, and he said he will come over today to give you a checkup. Just tell him your symptoms word for word when the time comes.”

Liang Ling was originally still angry that Wen Ming was not focusing on proper business, but upon hearing that he actually took his fabricated nonsense to heart, he was momentarily at a loss for words. Feeling a bit guilty toward him, his voice became much quieter, “There is no need to trouble him, right? I can handle it myself.”

After all, the doctors in this world probably could not solve his problem either. Who knows, after examining him, they might suggest that Wen Ming transfer him to a psychiatric hospital.

Unexpectedly, Wen Ming shook his head firmly and chuckled softly, “To be honest, I do not really mind holding you and sleeping when you have a fever. After all, you look just like a little cat when you act all silly and snuggle into my arms, quite cute.”

“You!” Liang Ling almost blew his top again. Just as he was about to flare up, Wen Ming pressed him back down, his tone full of sincerity, “But I am more worried about your health. So, be a good boy and go get checked, alright?”

Looking into his eyes filled with worry, the words of refusal stuck in Liang Ling’s throat and could not be spoken out.

After a stalemate for a long time, Liang Ling ultimately conceded defeat and nodded helplessly, “Alright then.”

Seeing him agree, Wen Ming’s eyes lit up with delight, “Then I will schedule a time with the doctor. Here is his business card, he will call you when the time comes.”

With a depressed expression, Liang Ling nodded and began to ponder how he could accurately describe his symptoms without scaring the doctor away.
