“Of course not.” Zheng Xiaoran reached out to press him onto the CT scanner, looking at Liang Ling’s despairing face with a smile. “Don’t be afraid. It is just a minor examination, and it doesn’t hurt at all.”

Liang Ling covered his face in embarrassment.

After a short while, the scan was printed out. Zheng Xiaoran stared at it for a long time, his eyebrows knitted together into a knot, making tsk tsk tsk sounds from time to time, which made Liang Ling extremely awkward.Full novel: The Picked-Up Omega is Both Delicate and Flirtatious — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Dr. Zheng, do I have any problems?” Liang Ling asked anxiously.

“Oh,” Zheng Xiaoran snapped back to reality, rubbed his lips, and turned his head to ask, “Do you have any bad habits in your daily life?”

Liang Ling was completely baffled. Bad habits? Did loving junk food and carbonated drinks count?

Seeming to notice his confusion, Zheng Xiaoran chuckled mischievously and pointed below Liang Ling’s lower abdomen. “I mean, how often do you do that yourself?”

Liang Ling’s face turned beet red, and he scratched the back of his head shyly. “No, I never do that.”

Hearing him say this, Zheng Xiaoran looked somewhat surprised. Rubbing his chin in deep thought for a moment, he suddenly thought of something, leaned in mysteriously, and whispered, “Then, what about the frequency of doing that with other people?”

Liang Ling finally lost his self-control, raised a finger to push him away, and said with a dark face, “None!” He wasn’t that kind of casual Omega!

Zheng Xiaoran became even more puzzled. He laid the scan out on the desk and tapped his knuckles against it until they clicked. “Mr. Liang, you have to be honest! Otherwise, even an experienced doctor like me will find it hard to make a judgment.”

Hearing that Zheng Xiaoran still didn’t believe him, Liang Ling immediately grew anxious. He stiffened his neck and argued, “It’s true! I’ve only recently done it twice with you-know-who, and it wasn’t even the real thing.”

“Oh.” Zheng Xiaoran wore an expression of total understanding, leaned back in his chair with a smile, and pointed at the scan. “Don’t worry, Mr. Liang. You are perfectly healthy. Aside from being a bit delicate, you don’t have any medical conditions.”

Teased by the doctor, Liang Ling flushed red and sat in his seat, sulking.

Zheng Xiaoran sat up straight again, crossed his hands to prop up his chin, and smiled faintly. “Well, if there are no physiological problems, this phenomenon of getting a fever whenever you have urges is most likely a psychological issue.”

Liang Ling’s heart skipped a beat as his previous concerns resurfaced. He bit the bullet and said, “My psychology is quite healthy too.”

“Is that so?” Zheng Xiaoran raised the corners of his mouth slightly and pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose. “No need to lie to me, Mr. Liang. I know you are afraid that I will tell President Wen about your condition. But as a doctor, I give you my professional guarantee that unless you give your consent, I will not disclose a patient’s privacy. So please open your heart, otherwise it will be very hard to achieve any therapeutic results.”

His words pierced straight through Liang Ling’s little thoughts, making him feel rather shy. He lowered his head slightly and twisted his fingers in deep conflict.

Seeing him like this, Zheng Xiaoran knew there was hope. He continued to guide him step by step, “Mr. Liang, you and I are both men. When it comes to seeking pleasure, I know just as much as you do. If you have any problems, feel free to talk about them.”

Liang Ling seemed moved by him. He hesitatingly touched the gland at the back of his neck and asked hesitantly, “Then, Doctor, do you know what an Omega is?”

“What?” Zheng Xiaoran didn’t understand, blinking his bewildered eyes at him.

Liang Ling let out a deep sigh, feeling as though his courage had been drained away from his body once more. He smiled bitterly and said, “Never mind. It’s my own problem.”

With that, he quietly stood up. Ignoring Zheng Xiaoran’s attempts to persuade him to stay, he smiled faintly and said, “Dr. Zheng, I am very sorry. I know you and President Wen both have my best interests at heart, but I really cannot tell you my situation right now. When the day comes that I am psychologically prepared, I will come back to find you, okay?”

Zheng Xiaoran blinked, wanting to say something more, but suddenly seeing the wounded expression on Liang Ling’s face, he stopped pushing him further. He smiled and said, “Of course. By the way, here is my card. Mr. Liang can call me whenever you need to in the future. I am generally free from Monday to Friday.”

Liang Ling took the business card handed to him and put it into his pocket, revealing two tiny tiger teeth. “Thank you, Dr. Zheng.”

After Liang Ling left, Zheng Xiaoran sat alone in his chair in rare silence, beginning to carefully ponder what Liang Ling had said.

Omega.

“Is this some new medical term? Why haven’t I heard of it?” Zheng Xiaoran rubbed his aching head, sat in front of the computer, opened the browser, and started searching for things related to Omega.

The results spat out a bunch of things like: “Assume the angle of this triangle Omega is x, let us set up a simultaneous equation.”, “OMEGA Swiss watches are internationally renowned watchmaking enterprises and brands founded by.”, “After bringing the ball and running away, Little O became the Admiral Alpha’s beloved apple of his eye.”

Zheng Xiaoran: “What kind of messy nonsense is this?”

He clicked on one at random, and a rather improper little website popped up, filling the screen with the synopsis of some trashy web novel. He sneered and was about to close it when his peripheral vision accidentally caught the marketing-style opening sentence: “Little O’s rut was fiercely marked by the Admiral Alpha. Who would have known that the Alpha had long cherished a sweetheart in his heart? Unwilling to get caught up in the fame and fortune, Little O took the child and ran away. The remorseful Alpha went crazy.”

Zheng Xiaoran’s hand hovering over the close button froze, and his gaze involuntarily drifted toward the content below the synopsis.
