The doctor came for rounds, checked her condition, and told her not to be stressed. She could be discharged and slowly recuperate at home.

The nurse looked at the frail little girl, her heart condition so severe, and no family around. She felt both sympathy and affection.

Yun Shu blinked, dazed, looking at the doctor and nurse. Someone had increased her favor points.

The senior doctor, seeing her clean, beautiful eyes, thought of his own troublesome daughter, and yet this little girl before him was so endearing.

“Ding, favor points +1. Total favor points: 3.”

Yun Shu smiled sweetly at the doctor and nurse. “Thank you, doctors,” she said, silently grateful for the favor points they had given her.

“You’re welcome. It’s our duty. If you’re being discharged, contact your family to pick you up.”

Yun Shu didn’t want them to know she would be leaving alone, so she smiled and said, “Okay, I understand, doctor.”

After the doctor left, she took a deep breath, reminding herself not to get too excited—her little heart couldn’t handle it.

“System, system, did my favor points just increase by two?”

“Yes, Master. Current favor points: 3. Keep going!”

Hearing the system’s encouragement, Yun Shu felt a surge of confidence.

“System, I’m being discharged today, leaving this place,” she said, a little sad and reluctant.

“Master, changing your environment may be good for your health.”

“Mm, maybe so.”

Yun Shu dressed, put on her hat and mask, and went to the first floor to complete the discharge procedures. She was informed that she still had one day’s hospitalization fee, which would be refunded if she left today.

After finishing the discharge procedures, she dragged her suitcase out of the hospital.

Looking at the busy streets, people coming and going, she felt as if she were in a different world.

Although it had only been two days, it felt like she had lived two lifetimes. It was unbelievable, yet it had truly happened to her.

Dragging her heavy suitcase, she struggled to the roadside and hailed a taxi.

Seeing her frail frame, the driver quickly got out to help put her suitcase in the trunk.

After thanking him, Yun Shu got into the back seat.

“Miss, where to?” the driver asked.

“Please take me to the airport.”

“Alright, let’s go.”

Yun Shu watched the streets pass by through the window—farewell, Beijing.

The driver, seeing her sad demeanor in the rearview mirror, assumed she was going to school in another city and missed her family.

“Miss, where are you going to study?”

“Ah? I’m not going to study.”

“Oh, then just visiting somewhere else?”

“Yes.”

“Young people should travel more; it’s good for your health.”

“Have you been to Yunhai City?”

“Yunhai City? Yes, I have. It’s a nice place, warm weather, not too cold in winter, good food, and cheaper than Beijing.”

“Is that so? That’s good.”

“Ah, so you’re going to Yunhai City.”

“Yes.”

“That’s great. Don’t worry and enjoy your trip.”

“Thank you.”

“No problem.”

The driver chattered along the way, lifting Yun Shu’s mood considerably.

At the airport, she bought a ticket for the next flight, which would depart in three hours.

After checking in her luggage, she sat in the waiting area.

The long wait was boring, so she took out her phone to check for messages.

She didn’t have any particularly close friends in Beijing. Everyone in the wealthy circles knew that the Yun family had a daughter with a heart condition.

They would warn their children not to get close to her. If she ever had an episode or died, they would be blamed.

She had overheard such gossip once in a bathroom at a banquet with her foster mother. But she didn’t feel hurt—she wasn’t close to them anyway.

Suddenly, she felt someone sit down behind her. She glanced back—a tall figure in black.

She paid no attention, returning her focus to her phone and started watching a drama.

The man behind her slightly wrinkled his nose. The faint smell of disinfectant came from the girl in front of him, wearing a hat and mask.

Yun Shu continued watching the drama to pass the time.

When her butt grew numb from sitting so long, the boarding announcement for her flight came.

She put her phone away, stood in line at the gate, and waited to have her ticket checked.

The man standing in front of her was really tall, probably around 1.9 meters, wearing black and a black mask.

Standing behind him, she could only reach about his shoulder blades.

After ticket verification, she followed the crowd onto the plane and found her seat.

Her seat was by the window, in the inner row. To reach it, she needed the person in the aisle seat to get up.

The person in the aisle seat was the tall man in black who had been in front of her in line.

“Sir, my seat is inside. Could you please let me through?”

The man stood up and moved to the aisle, letting her pass.

“Thank you,” Yun Shu said after sitting down.

“You’re welcome.”

His voice was strangely pleasant, she thought.

Once seated and buckled in, she removed her hat, letting her hair cascade like seaweed. She tidied the stray strands with her hand.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the man beside her resting against the seat, eyes closed. Even with the mask, his side profile showed fair skin, sharp features, and a tear mole at the corner of his eye.

She thought: the man also has a tear mole—maybe he’s gay?

The plane slowly taxied and took off.

She touched her uncomfortable heart, and once the plane was stable, she took out an eye mask, put it on, and rested.

During the flight, a flight attendant came by with the meal. Yun Shu, still drowsy, said she didn’t want it, and the meal was taken away.

After over three hours, the plane slowly landed in Yunhai City.

Yun Shu waited for most passengers to disembark before standing.

She collected her luggage and went to the taxi area.

She took out the property deed, looked at the address, and photographed it with her phone—she couldn’t be carrying it around all the time.

Finally, a taxi arrived. She was about to get in when the door was opened by a long, slender hand, and someone sat inside.

Yun Shu hurried forward, grabbing the door. “Sir, I was first. This is my taxi. Please get out.”

The man frowned, glanced at his watch, and seemed in a hurry.

But Yun Shu didn’t back down. She had waited so long for this taxi; there was no way she would let him take it.
