I’ll Make You Soup.

Shen Su squatted on the carriage with her knees hugged to her chest, staring blankly at Qin Yu at eye level.

No way, the young mistress really holds a grudge.Full novel: The Promise She Never Meant — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She made the young mistress ride a horse, and now the young mistress won’t let her ride the carriage either.

“Isn’t this a bit too.” Shen Su carefully chose her words, swallowing down the phrase “bold.”

With so many people around, doing it on horseback?

It wasn’t Shen Su overthinking Qin Yu had prepared way too many handkerchiefs.

Thinking she was afraid of the heat, Qin Yu raised a brow slightly. “I’m not scared, so why are you?”

Shen Su was dumbfounded, slowly raising her hands in a mock salute.

The young mistress’s courage was truly something she, a mere woman, had to admire!

Shen Su had initially thought Qin Yu was the type of rigid, rule-abiding noblewoman. But after recalling their recent escapades, Qin Yu’s actions had absolutely nothing to do with the words “aloof” or “proper.”

A proper noblewoman wouldn’t ask her, “How many do you want?”

A dignified lady certainly wouldn’t tease her, “Too much water.”

Shen Su snorted, slapping her hand into Qin Yu’s palm in a fit of pique, challenging, “As long as you’re not scared.”

After all, it was Qin Yu and “Su Qingqing” who’d be embarrassed, what did it have to do with Shen Su?

Using Qin Yu’s hand for support, Shen Su jumped down from the carriage.

Yunzhi heard the commotion and hurriedly lifted the carriage curtain to peek outside. “Miss—er, A-Jie.”

Why wasn’t the young lady riding the carriage anymore?

Shen Su followed Qin Yu forward, turning back at the sound of her voice. “You stay put. I’m not riding anymore—Young Master Qin says he’ll teach me to ride a horse.”

Yunzhi, “Huh?”

On such a scorching day, with an ice-cooled carriage right there, why ride a horse?

Yunzhi was utterly confused, unable to fathom what these two were up to. Clutching her bundle for security, she curled up in the corner of the carriage.

One moment she was fidgeting nervously, the next she was nodding off.

As the carriage slowly swayed forward, Yunzhi wavered between guilt over monopolizing the carriage and the irresistible pull of drowsiness.

Mainly because it was just too comfortable.

Qin Yu taking Shen Su horseback riding was something no one had anticipated.

With Miss Su’s delicate, lychee-like skin, how could it withstand the wind and sun?

They couldn’t decide whether Qin Yu was too clingy unwilling to part with Miss Su even while riding or simply lacked the sense to cherish a fragile woman.

Either way, Qin Yu lifted Shen Su by the waist and hoisted her onto the horse.

The moment Shen Su mounted, the horse shifted its front hooves. Never having ridden before, she let out a startled cry.

She wasn’t scared, just exhilarated her peach-blossom eyes sparkling with excitement.

Though she wasn’t skilled with horses, she was an expert at riding “fish.”

Seeing the horse grow restless, Shen Su gently stroked its mane. “Good horse, I’ve already ridden your owner Qin Yu, so technically, I’ve ridden you too.”

Qin Yu, who had just mounted behind her, “…”

Did she have any sense of shame? Any concept of embarrassment?

Shen Su turned her head with a playful grin. “But I still prefer riding you. You’re much more obedient than it is.”

Legs spread when told, hands raised on command.

Comparing her to livestock. Well done.

Qin Yu’s eyelid twitched as she pinched the soft flesh at Shen Su’s waist, muttering, “Behave, unless you want to fall.”

They were riding a horse, not sailing a boat, there was no need for her to stir up trouble.

Shen Su let out a soft whimper as she was squeezed, her body melting limply backward into Qin Yu’s embrace.

“How exactly is considered ‘well-behaved’?” Shen Su asked suggestively, her voice soft and sweet. “Does this count?”

As she spoke, her slender back rubbed lightly against Qin Yu’s chest, her delicate shoulder blades grazing Qin Yu’s front with deliberate ambiguity.

Her face was the picture of innocent purity, but the hand resting on Qin Yu’s thigh slowly stroked upward through the fabric, the movement indescribably provocative.

Summer clothing was thin to begin with, and even with the extra layer wrapped around her chest, Qin Yu could still feel the strange sensation Shen Su was stirring in her.

The more Qin Yu hunched her shoulders and tried to pull away, the more Shen Su pressed forward, taking full advantage.

Qin Yu narrowed her eyes slightly and, under the pretense of tightening the reins, suddenly pulled Shen Su fully into her arms, pressing her own chest firmly against Shen Su’s back. “Keep going.”

The group had already set off, the horses now at a steady trot.

Qin Yu rested one hand on Shen Su’s waist, taking advantage of the fact that no one ahead could see their movements, and let her long, elegant fingers glide upward, gently cupping and lifting.

Full, resilient, with a satisfying weight.

Even through the gauzy fabric, the sensation was undeniably pleasant.

Qin Yu had originally intended to retaliate, but somehow, once her hand was in place, it seemed glued there, impossible to let go.

Caught off guard, Shen Su nearly leapt from the saddle. “?!”

Qin Yu glanced down at her, her expression cool and composed, even as her fingers continued kneading without pause. She even had the audacity to say, perfectly seriously, “It’s normal for horseback riding to be bumpy. You’ll get used to it.”

Hearing her calm, detached tone, one would never guess what her hands were doing.

Shen Su was utterly impressed, silently marveling to herself:

Miss Qin, you sly old fox!

She fixed a reproachful stare on that offending hand.

She remembered when she was little back in the Shen family’s old estate, there had been a cherry tree that bore branches heavy with red fruit every year. Unfortunately, as the unfavored child, Shen Su never got to taste a single one. The moment the cherries ripened, the servants would pick them all and deliver them to the main house.

So how did Shen Su get her cherries? She had to climb the tree and pluck them herself before they were fully ripe.

Back then, the cherries were still firm and tart. Seven or eight years old, Shen Su had devised a method she would soften them by squeezing.

Using her fingertips, she would knead them like unripe peaches, softening the cherries until they seemed less sour.

A few nights ago, Shen Su had used the same childhood technique on Qin Yu’s little “cherries.” Now, Qin Yu was returning the favor.

Except, unlike back then when the goal had been to soften them to make them easier to eat now, the aim was the opposite.

Especially on horseback, with fabric rubbing against skin, the torment was unbearable.

Shen Su turned her head to look at Qin Yu, her peach-blossom eyes misty, as if veiled in a haze of moisture, the picture of pitiable vulnerability.

“I was wrong, sister,” Shen Su pleaded. “Won’t you spare me?”

Like this,

How could Qin Yu possibly let her off now?

Qin Yu’s thick lashes fluttered slightly, her riding speed unwavering. One hand still gripping the reins, she let the other drift lower, resting on the horse’s back, then used the tip of her thumb to tease Shen Su with deliberate strokes.

Shen Su shuddered at the sensation, her gaze flickering.

Already perched on the saddle, she now found herself shifting forward slightly, her upper body leaning back into Qin Yu’s embrace, her head tilting against Qin Yu’s shoulder.

The scorching breath against her cheek was hotter than the summer heat. Qin Yu only needed to lower her gaze to see the faint sweat on Shen Su’s nose, the haze in her eyes, and the flushed redness of her ears and neck.

She was clearly embarrassed too.

But she still wanted it.
