Qin Yu didn’t even know what to say to “Su Qingqing.”

Yet, with layers of fabric between them, it was like scratching an itch through boots utterly unsatisfying.

The two rode together at the front of the group, leading the way, while those behind could only see their backs.Full novel: The Promise She Never Meant — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Someone chuckled teasingly, “Miss Su must be so dizzy from the heat that she’s practically melting into the young master’s arms.”

“What nonsense, they’re just whispering secrets, lips to ear.”

In reality, Shen Su was half-seated on Qin Yu’s palm, squeezing her wrist, struggling to suppress her voice.

After a moment’s hesitation, Qin Yu lifted her sleeve with her other hand and covered Shen Su’s mouth, murmuring softly, “Don’t make a sound, they’ll hear.”

Shen Su’s body was simply extraordinary, unbearably sensitive.

Qin Yu asked her, “Did you always like women, or did you start liking them just to please me?”

The answer was obvious. If Shen Su didn’t like women, she wouldn’t be soaking through her clothes right now.

“I don’t know,” Shen Su gasped, her mind too scattered to think. “I wasn’t like this before, It’s all your fault.”

That night in the ruined temple, Shen Su had initially claimed to like women just to survive.

But when they had pressed together, slick with sweat, Shen Su had unmistakably felt pleasure and satisfaction.

That kind of reaction couldn’t be faked.

Shen Su thought that maybe, perhaps, there was a tiny chance she liked women, just a little.

But she was absolutely certain that Qin Yu liked women!

The drug Shen Su had used wasn’t even that potent. When she had tested it on pigs, they had merely grunted a few times before collapsing. Yet Qin Yu had been moaning and writhing this whole time, her fingers practically buried inside her!

This wasn’t about the drug at all, it was Qin Yu’s own problem.

This secretly lecherous wolf had half-coerced, half-seduced her into eating up this little white rabbit~

Shen Su couldn’t help but add some drama to the moment, putting on an act of being forced, even as her hips rocked subtly with the horse’s movements.

Only after indulging in her little performance did she realize rabbits were actually quite lustful creatures.

Qin Yu fell silent, frowned, and thought to herself, what did any of this have to do with her?

When she tried to pull her hand back, Shen Su whimpered sweetly, “Jiejie!”

“Jiejie, feed me.”

Qin Yu’s breath hitched. If not for the many eyes watching from behind, she would have turned Shen Su around to face her, then bent down to.

Qin Yu was a year older than Shen Su, so it was only proper for Shen Su to call her “jiejie.”

But the way “jiejie” rolled off Shen Su’s tongue, curling and hooking around the syllables, made it sound anything but proper.

Qin Yu had never imagined those two words could carry such a different meaning.

When the storm finally passed, Shen Su was like a field drenched in intermittent rain, completely soaked.

“Now that I’m like this,” Shen Su murmured, her voice husky and strangely alluring, “Jiejie had better treat me well.”

She took Qin Yu’s hand and wiped it clean with her own sleeve, then brought the fingertips to her nose, inhaling lightly before smiling. “I’ve given you everything I have.”

For a moment, Qin Yu couldn’t tell whether Shen Su was referring to the recent downpour, their first time in the ruined temple, or the heart in her chest that still hadn’t calmed its frantic beating.

Qin Yu wrapped an arm around Shen Su’s waist, letting her rest in a daze.

“Su Qingqing” liked women, knew her true identity, and brought her immense joy. Qin Yu thought, perhaps after returning to the capital, she should give “Su Qingqing” a proper status?

After all, this “young master” of hers was already seventeen, the age when one ought to have a woman. Last year when she was just sixteen, Li Xuanliu’s concubine had already tried to push women into her chambers.

They said all young masters in the capital had one, so she too should have a bed-warming maid.

To put it bluntly, it was just a servant girl for venting desires.

Qin Yu never allowed anyone to serve her intimately, fearing her female-disguised-as-male secret would be exposed, so she naturally refused the maids Bai sent.

But avoiding it once or twice was manageable. As time passed and she grew older, not having a woman in her chambers would inevitably raise suspicions.

Rather than having others force women upon her, wouldn’t it be better to let “Su Qingqing” enter first as a shield?

As for status, that could be elevated gradually.

Qin Yu told herself she wasn’t bewitched by “Su Qingqing,” nor was she reluctant to part with “Su Qingqing’s” body she was doing all this for the family’s benefit.

Alright, and for herself too.

After all, Qin Yu still couldn’t bring herself to eliminate “Su Qingqing.”

By the time they neared the country road, it was already dusk at the end of the You hour.

The sun had set, leaving residual summer heat in the air, but the evening breeze sweeping across the fields brought refreshing comfort to both body and mind.

Shen Su sat upright on the horse, arms spread wide, savoring the carefree sensation of the summer wind brushing her cheeks and tousling her hair.

Like a butterfly, her sleeves and skirt fluttered like wings, dancing with the wind.

This kind of unbridled freedom was something Shen Su had never experienced in her first sixteen years.

Only now did Shen Su suddenly realize perhaps Qin Yu hadn’t intended to torment her. Maybe she simply wanted to take her horseback riding once, to feel the wind together.

It was as if something had blown into her heart with the wind, plucking that rigid heartstring to produce a muffled twang.

Shen Su’s long lashes fluttered in the wind, her eyes lowering as she placed her hand over Qin Yu’s.

Qin Yu turned her hand to grasp Shen Su’s, teaching her how to hold the reins.

Shen Su smiled a light, contented smile.

She gently scratched Qin Yu’s hand, blinking as she whispered, “Tomorrow during rest, shall I make you some soup?”

Qin Yu lowered her gaze and countered, “With your hands?”
