“Let me go!

Let me go!” Chloe screamed, thrashing as Raquelle finished tying her tightly to the wooden chair.

Raquelle calmly dusted off her hands.

She stepped forward to stand directly in front of the shaking teenager, placing her hands on her hips.

A small, knowing smile spread across her face.

“My late guard told me all about your little sneak attacks outside this pack,” Raquelle said, her voice dangerously low.

“Where exactly did you go, Chloe?” Chloe snapped her head away, staring at the wall and refusing to answer.

“Oh, really?

You don’t want to answer to your Alpha now?” Raquelle paused, leaning forward until she was inches from Chloe’s face.

“Let me guess why.

Is it because you’re the future Luna of the Evergreen Pack?” Chloe’s head snapped back around.

Her eyes widened in pure terror for a fraction of a second before she tried to blink it away, trying to play smart.

“Hahaha, very funny,” Chloe forced a dry laugh.

“I went to the city to clear my head, Alpha.

Nothing else.” Raquelle laughed along with her, a cold sound that froze the air.

Then she straightened up, her expression turning dead serious.

“Since you claim you aren’t the future Luna, and you aren’t the little mistress who has been sneaking off to visit George West…

then I guess I will just do this.” Raquelle pulled a gleaming silver knife from her pocket.

She pressed the cold blade directly against Chloe’s throat.

Chloe began to shake violently, the silver singing her skin.

She immediately blurted out the truth.

“Please don’t do this!

You would hurt him!

Please!” Raquelle retreated, pulling the knife back.

A satisfied smirk crossed her lips.

Her suspicion was right.

She was a smart Alpha.

From the moment she found Veronica Adams in that bunker, she had put two and two together.

She knew Chloe had to be the final link.

“You don’t want me to hurt your mate?

But your mate has been tormenting my pack!” Raquelle’s hand shot out, grabbing Chloe’s hair and pulling it back tightly.

“And you have been helping him do it!” Chloe tried to wriggle free from the agonizing hold, but it was impossible.

She was bound tightly, and Raquelle was by far the stronger wolf.

“Alpha…

please…” Chloe muttered weakly, tears streaming down her face.

“No.

Let him feel a little bit of pain, too,” Raquelle growled.

Her eyes locked onto the fresh mating mark on Chloe’s neck.

“With that stupid mark, I know he feels every scratch on your skin.

I want you to also feel pain, Chloe.

I want you to feel the agony of those families you separated from their children.

I want you to feel what Pete felt when your father slaughtered him!” Raquelle abruptly released her hair.

With a sudden burst of rage, she kicked the legs of the chair, sending it crashing sideways to the floor.

Chloe shrieked as she hit the hardwood.

Raquelle didn’t stop.

She began kicking her into the ribs, anger taking over.

“You and your mate will regret this!

I will kill both of you!” Raquelle breathed heavily, her chest heaving with a violent rage.

She finally stopped, forcing her inner wolf to calm down while Chloe lay bound on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

“You will remain here,” Raquelle warned, looking down at her.

“I will be coming back to inflict more pain on you so it reaches straight through the bond to your mate.

By the time I end your treacherous life, George will be weak, broken, and completely heartbroken.

And then I will come for him next.” Raquelle turned toward the exit.

“Because nobody messes with my pack and goes scot-free.” Raquelle looked around the small, dark room hidden inside her penthouse.

“Enjoy your stay here.

I have another prisoner to deal with.” With that, she marched out of the room and slammed the heavy door shut.

She turned the deadbolt twice, making sure it was locked tight, before heading down to the dungeons to give Delta Adams his own share of her wrath.

Raquelle marched down into the dark, damp dungeons.

She reached the deepest cell and looked through the iron bars.

Delta Adams was already chained to the stone wall.

The heavy silver cuffs were seeping into his skin, sizzling against his flesh and forcing his wolf to weaken rapidly.

The moment he saw her shadow, he dropped heavily to his knees.

“Alpha…

please!

Spare me!” the former Delta begged, looking up at the ruthless woman.

Raquelle stood outside the cell.

She wasn’t alone.

Standing right behind her were her guards and her two other high-ranking Deltas: Delta Williams and Delta Laura, a sharp woman in her early thirties.

Raquelle didn’t even look back at them.

“Leave us,” she commanded.

“Yes, Alpha,” Williams and Laura replied instantly.

They excused themselves without a second thought, completely terrified of falling out of favor with her in this state.

The guards followed them out, leaving the corridor dead silent.

Raquelle unlocked the cell door and stepped inside.

As she looked down at the weak man begging at her feet, sudden flashbacks of Pete hit her mind.

She remembered the red-haired guard standing in her office just days ago, layout out his suspicions.

She remembered how punctual he always was, always guarding the border on time.

He had been so incredibly thoughtful.

If it hadn’t been for Pete’s sharp instincts, they would still be completely blind to the traitors.

The memories built up a raging fire inside her chest.

The anger took over.

Without thinking for another second, Raquelle pulled the same silver knife from her pocket—the one she had just pressed against his daughter’s throat.

She stepped forward and slashed it violently across his neck.

The blade cut deep and clean.

Adams’ head instantly dropped from his shoulders, rolling across the stone floor of the dungeon.

Raquelle stared at the corpse for a beat, her breathing heavy.

She dropped the blood-stained silver knife right onto the floor beside the body.

Turning on her heel, she walked out of the cell.

Williams, Laura, and the guards were waiting at the end of the hall.

Raquelle walked past them without slowing down.

“Clean up the mess,” she muttered coldly.

Without waiting for a response, she walked out of the dungeon entirely.

She got straight into her car and turned the ignition.

But as she drove through the dark territory, she didn’t head toward her penthouse.

She suddenly cut the wheel, diverting her car down the road that led to Dominic’s house.

The porch lights were already glowing against the night sky when she pulled into his driveway.

Raquelle parked, locked her doors, and walked up the steps.

She knocked firmly on the wood.

Within seconds, the lock clicked.

Dominic pulled open the door, a warm smile instantly spreading across his face when he saw her.

He stepped aside to usher her into the warm living room.

The moment the front door closed behind her, Raquelle didn’t waste a single second.

She stepped directly into his space, her eyes locking onto his.

“I need you right now,” she said.

Dominic’s smile shifted into something deeper as she leaned closer, her voice turning into a dark, sultry whisper against his ear.

“I need to cool off.” ***** Hi besties!
