Yan Xun channeled his inner Ah Q, and after comforting himself, he finally mustered up the courage to walk back out of the bathroom.

There was indeed no one in the living room; only the faint sound of talking came from the study.

Since Bai Yang had already given the word, Yan Xun didn’t stand on ceremony. He found the game console and started playing.Full novel: The Top-Tier School Hunk Has Been Targeted by the Cold CEO — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Half an hour later, Yan Xun received a call from Li He.

There was a part-time dog-walking order, and Li He asked if Yan Xun wanted to take it. During this period, Li He’s mood had been affected, and he had no state of mind for part-time work. Fearing it might hurt his reputation, he had been sharing many part-time opportunities with Yan Xun.

“Take it! Money not earned is money wasted by heaven.”

After accepting, Yan Xun quickly received the specific part-time job details sent by Li He.

He glanced at the address. It was quite close to this residential area, only about ten kilometers away, which would take roughly twenty minutes by bus.

He calculated the time. If he rushed over to walk the dogs right now, he would still be able to make it back for lunch at noon.

With this plan in mind, Yan Xun put down the game console and prepared to leave.

Bai Yang was still in the study, and he couldn’t just sneak away quietly, so he walked over to the study door, knocked, and prepared to say goodbye to Bai Yang.

He knocked three times, but there was no response from Bai Yang.

Hesitating for a moment, Yan Xun bit the bullet and walked inside.

He walked up to the desk and waved his hand in front of Bai Yang. Only then did Bai Yang raise his head and look at him in surprise.

Immediately after, Bai Yang spoke to everyone in the video conference.

“Pause the meeting for five minutes.”

Then, he took off his Bluetooth headset and stood up, stepping away from the video conference screen.

Yan Xun smiled cluelessly and explained to Bai Yang that he was going out for a part-time dog-walking job, little knowing that Bai Yang’s action of pausing the meeting had already caused a massive stir inside the video conference room.

They were all senior executives of the Bai Corporation, and it wasn’t their first time having a video conference with Bai Yang. From the background, they could tell Bai Yang was at home.

And right now, someone who appeared in Bai Yang’s home and could actually make Bai Yang pause a meeting to attend to them, who could it be?

The Bai Corporation executives had all heard rumors that Bai Yang had a very favored young man by his side. Seeing this now, the rumor was definitely true.

Bai Yang checked his watch and frowned. “You are going alone?”

Yan Xun was amused the moment he heard this. “Brother, I am an adult going to do a part-time job as a dog walker. Do I really need someone to accompany me?”

After a pause, he leaned in closer to Bai Yang jokingly. “Brother, do you really take me for a child? Are you afraid someone might kidnap me?”

Bai Yang stared at Yan Xun. The boy was radiating youthful energy all over, and his smile was brighter than the sun. This infectious charm held immense attraction for someone like him.

Even he found it slightly hard to look away, let alone another person of the same kind.

Bai Yang smiled. “Hard to say. You are so well-behaved, what should I do if you actually get kidnapped?”

Before Yan Xun could refuse, Bai Yang said in a deep voice, “Give me ten minutes. I will finish the meeting and then go with you.”

Yan Xun responded with complete confusion.

He had every reason to suspect that Bai Yang was using accompanying him as an excuse to tag along and walk the dogs.

Sure enough, the more serious someone looked on the outside, the more secretly defenseless they were against fluffy animals.

However, since Bai Yang had already spoken, Yan Xun naturally had to wait. Besides, having company while doing a part-time job, earning money while hanging out, was obviously even better.

With Bai Yang driving, Yan Xun didn’t have to take the bus, and they reached the agreed address much faster.

Arriving at the employer’s doorstep, Yan Xun contacted the employer, who then sent the door passcode.

Yan Xun told Bai Yang to wait at the door, put on shoe covers, and went inside to get the dogs.

Bai Yang stood at the entrance, glancing casually around until his eyes landed on a photo on the wall, a flash of surprise crossing his eyes.

Yan Xun quickly led four large dogs out of the second bedroom. All four dogs were half a person tall and possessed immense strength, dragging Yan Xun, a physical education student, along with them.

Seeing this, Bai Yang quickly took over two of the leashes. “I will help you.”

The four dogs had a lot of energy and sprinted excitedly the moment they reached the garden.

Fortunately, both Yan Xun and Bai Yang were quite strong; otherwise, they might not have been able to hold onto them.

Yan Xun smiled in gratitude. “Brother, thank goodness you came along.”

Bai Yang gave a low acknowledgment, his brow slightly furrowed. “Do you do this kind of dog-walking part-time job often?”

Yan Xun shook his head. “I have done it a few times, but none of them were as exaggerated as this place. Ordinarily, families cannot afford to keep so many large dogs; keeping two is already incredible.”

“The dog-walking orders are dispatched by the platform, and you even have to pay a deposit to register as a dog walker. My roommate takes all these orders, and when he gets too busy, he asks me to help out.”

Hearing this, Bai Yang said calmly, “Then tell your roommate later not to take dog-walking orders from this family anymore.”

Yan Xun asked in confusion, “Why?”

Bai Yang didn’t answer his question immediately, instead pulling the leashes toward a less crowded area.

Once there were no other passersby around, he explained, “It seems you don’t know much about dog breeds. Do you know what breeds these four dogs are?”

Yan Xun blinked in surprise and shook his head.

Bai Yang said, “My two are Canarian Mastiffs, and your two are Pit Bulls, commonly known as fighting dogs.”

Yan Xun had never heard the professional names of the dogs, but he had heard a thing or two about the term fighting dogs.

Fighting dogs were two professionally trained dogs made to compete through biting and fighting, a process that was violent and bloody.

Such competitions were banned domestically and were only run secretly underground by outlaws for profit.

Yan Xun widened his eyes, and when he looked at the dogs again, he felt a bit terrified.

Bai Yang introduced, “Canarian Mastiffs are one of the fiercest fighting dogs with a bite force of three hundred kilograms. Let alone dogs, when they turn fierce, a few adults are no match for them.”

He said solemnly, “Therefore, don’t take this order in the future. It’s too dangerous.”

Yan Xun nodded like a pecking chick.

If he had known that walking dogs meant walking dogs like these, he definitely wouldn’t have taken it.

Yan Xun said, “Brother, your two dogs are so fierce, why don’t we switch? I’ll handle those Canarian Mastiffs.”

Bai Yang didn’t let go of the leash. “No need, I’ll take them.”

Yan Xun was once again deeply moved. Look at how great the older brother he recognized was; when there was danger, he actually dared to step up.

“Right, brother, dogs this fierce should be banned in the city.”

Yan Xun rolled his eyes playfully, lowered his voice, and smiled. “How about we go report the employer! What if someone gets hurt keeping such a dangerous breed?”

“As enthusiastic and good citizens, reporting something like this counts as eliminating a public hazard!”

Hearing this, Bai Yang was startled at first, and then couldn’t help laughing.

He let out a chuckle. “That really is something you would come up with.”

Yan Xun rolled his eyes. “What, am I wrong?”

Bai Yang smiled. “You are right. As good citizens, when encountering such a situation, we should indeed report it. However, I advise you not to do that.”

Yan Xun asked, “Why?”
