The black iron VIP car didn’t just accelerate, it screamed.

The overcharged magical engines under the floorboards vibrated with a violent, bone-rattling rhythm that threatened to loosen Roxanne’s dental work.

Outside the front glass, the Underworld capital blurred into a smeared tapestry of obsidian skyscrapers, flashing red police grids, and the blinding white heat of the subterranean magma sea.Full novel: The Villainess and Her Bimbo System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Directly ahead, standing like a tragic, neon-green monument at the absolute precipice where the tracks plunged into the void, was Julian.

“Roxanne!

The cabin pressure is dropping!” Malakai shouted over the screeching of the monorail’s undercarriage.

He was white-knuckling the leather headrest of a passenger seat, his left wing-arm twitching erratically as the timer on his draconic suppression ticked down to the final five minutes.

“He’s not moving!

He’s going to swing!” “Let him swing!” Roxanne roared back, her fingers buried deep within the shattered console wiring.

Pink and orange sparks from the Royal Key shot up her forearms, forcing the engine’s safety regulators to melt into useless slag.

“If that golden, self-sacrificing dumbass thinks he can stop a multi-ton infernal train with a glowing stick, he’s about to get a very kinetic lesson in physics!

Hold onto your goddamn feathers!” Julian raised the massive, glowing greatsword of solid rot.

The four crystalline green wings protruding from his scorched plate armor flared wide, drawing raw solar mana from his broken core and mixing it with the toxic dragon energy bleeding out of the rift.

The air around him warped, creating a localized gravitational vacuum that yanked loose debris straight toward him.

[OMGGGG!

HOST!] the System violently glitched into her vision, painting the cockpit glass with an obnoxiously bright cascade of floating hearts, weeping anime chibis, and flashing pink warning signs.

[He is standing his ground!

He is acting as a roadblock of passion!

He wants to stop the train with his bare hands just so he can force you to stay in his sector forever!

Look at the raw, unadulterated, toxic yearning in those green searchlight eyes!

This is the ultimate peak of an angsty shoujo climax!] “He is trying to bisect us, you delusional piece of malware!” Roxanne screamed, her vision tunneling as the system’s dreaded compliance override began to prickle at her nerve endings like thousands of tiny, hot needles.

[MANDATORY SYSTEM QUEST: The Tragically Devoted Smash-Cut!

Objective: The collision is unavoidable!

As the train impacts the Corrupted Prince, you must smash your hands against the front glass, shed exactly three tears from your left eye, and wail at the top of your lungs: ‘Julian!

Even if you crush my body into a thousand pieces, my love will stitch us back together!

Take me into your abyss!’ Reward: ‘Impact Absorb’ shield expansion (Guarantees survival of the crash) & One (1) velvet hair ribbon.

Failure Penalty: Your character model will be forced to wear a giant, neon-pink ‘DRAMA QUEEN’ sash that cannot be unequipped, reducing stealth stats to absolute zero for three entire story arcs.] “A thousand pieces?!

I will be paste!

A sash?!” Roxanne’s internal monologue descended into an absolute torrent of unholy profanity.

“You absolute, motherfucking, parasitic tumor of a program!

I’m going to murder you!

I’m going to find the divine server hosting your consciousness and I’m going to pour cheap soda all over it!” [Timer starting!

3… 2…] “FUCK!” The strings snapped into place.

Roxanne’s hands were yanked off the console against her will, throwing her forward.

Her palms smacked violently against the hot front windowpane.

Her back arched, her head tilting to a perfectly tragic forty-five-degree angle as the system forced her tear ducts to contract, squeezing out precisely three distinct droplets that rolled down her soot-stained left cheek.

She opened her mouth, her vocal cords vibrating with a desperate, throat-tearing soprano that made her want to swallow a live grenade.

“Julian!

Even if you crush my body into a thousand pieces, my love will stitch us back together!

Take me into your abyss!” *BOOM.* The impact was cataclysmic.

Julian didn’t get knocked aside; he met the train head-on.

The greatsword of solid rot slammed directly into the nose of the VIP car, splitting the reinforced iron plating down the middle like a tin can.

The green wings flared, absorbing the raw kinetic force as the train’s forward momentum ground to a violent, screeching halt in the span of a single fraction of a second.

Thanks to the Impact Absorb reward, Roxanne didn’t turn into human jelly.

Instead, the pink energy barrier flared into a massive, spongy dome, cushioning her and Malakai as the cabin around them violently crumpled, the metal folding inward like origami.

The front glass shattered into a million glittering diamonds.

Through the ruined nose of the car, Roxanne found herself staring directly into the terrifying visage of the mutated prince.

The heat rolling off his armor was suffocating, a mix of divine sunlight and rotten sulfur.

He was holding the front of the train back with pure, corrupted muscle, his boots melting the iron rails beneath him.

Above his head, the neon text box flickered violently, struggling against the dark static: Target: Julian (The Corrupted Crown Prince) Affection Level: 88% (Obsessive / Blinded by Rot / Deeply Resonating) True Thought: Roxanne…

voice…

heard her.

Must keep the light here.

The void is cold.

The ash is empty.

If I let the train pass, she disappears again.

Hold the metal.

Tear the metal.

Keep her.

“Julian, you absolute, brainless royal dipshit,” Roxanne wheezed, the system’s compliance override releasing her just as the train began to tilt forward.

The rails beneath them had finally snapped under the immense weight and heat.

The VIP car, fused together with Julian’s armor by the sheer force of the impact, pitched downward.

They fell.

The white-hot magma sea vanished above them, replaced instantly by an oppressive, suffocating darkness as they plummeted into the vertical shaft of the spire.

The air turned freezing cold within seconds, the sulfur smell replaced by the scent of dead leaves, old bone, and wet ash.

*CRASH.* The train car hit the bottom of the abyss, tumbling repeatedly across a vast, gray plain before finally coming to a rest on its side.

Roxanne kicked what was left of the side door open, crawling out into the dirt.

She coughed violently, spitting out a mouthful of fine, silver ash.

Her purple dress was completely ruined now, little more than a collection of shredded rags held together by the glowing energy of the Royal Key fused to her skin.

“Malakai?” she rasped, looking back into the wreckage.

Malakai crawled out behind her, his left arm completely stable now, the fall had somehow reset the environment, but the black feathers remained, fixed permanently into his flesh.

He looked around, his amber eyes narrowing through the dim, grey twilight.

“We’re here.

The Outer Ashen Wastes.” The landscape was horrifyingly vast.

There was no sky, only an endless, swirling ceiling of gray fog that cast a dim, colorless light over a desert of silver ash.

Towering, skeletal structures that looked like the petrified ribs of ancient titans erupted from the ground, stretching for miles into the distance.

It was completely silent.

No sirens, no lava, no demons.

But twenty yards away, buried waist-deep in a dune of silver ash, Julian was slowly pushing himself up.

The green light in his eyes had dimmed, replaced by a hollow, vacant gray, but the four crystalline wings on his back remained, twitching like the appendages of a dying insect.

His greatsword was buried in the ash beside him, pulsing with a faint, rhythmic heartbeat.

As Roxanne stepped toward him, the silver ash beneath her boots suddenly shifted.

The ground didn’t shake, it breathed.

A deep, resonant vibration rippled through the silver sand, and from the gray fog above, a massive, luminescent text box descended, glowing not with the system’s pink light, or the targets’ neon colors, but a stark, bleeding white.

[SYSTEM NOTICE: REGIONAL ABNORMALITY DETECTED.] [You have entered the ‘Graveyard of Failed Narratives’.] [Local Rule: Affection levels are locked.

The system’s romantic protocols are currently being suppressed by the ambient world-rot.] [U-Uh…

Host?] the System’s voice suddenly sounded incredibly small, the hyper-delusional confidence completely draining out of it, replaced by static-laced panic.

[My…

my love filters are malfunctioning!

The data…

it’s all gray!

I don’t see the romance anymore!

I don’t see the shipping potential!

There’s…

there’s something else down here with us.

Something old.

Something that hates the script.] Before Roxanne could ask what the hell that meant, the giant skeletal ribs around the valley began to glow with a faint, pale blue light.

The silver ash began to lift into the air, swirling around Julian’s collapsed form, forming a massive, shadowy cocoon that began to drag him down into the earth.

And from the center of the cocoon, a voice echoed, not Julian’s, and not the dragon’s, but a hollow, multi-layered chorus that sounded like thousands of forgotten people speaking at once: “The heroes have arrived.

The world must be burned.”
