When Yan Yu saw Jing Mocong’s figure in the surveillance footage provided by the daycare owner, she froze in shock.

How had the children known that Jing Mocong was their father?

Had they overheard what she and Qiao Zi had said that day?Full novel: The Wealthiest Tycoon Was Supposedly Childless, Yet I Was Pregnant with His Twins — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They were only four years old. How could they possibly be that clever?

Yan Yu refused to believe her two little troublemakers had such extraordinary intelligence. They were usually far too mischievous.

She had no time to dwell on it.

Yan Yu immediately dialed Jing Mocong’s number.

Meanwhile, at the villa, Jing Mocong was playing with building blocks alongside the twins when the phone on the coffee table suddenly vibrated.

The screen lit up.

The contact name read, “That Woman.”

“Daddy, that woman is calling you.”

To his surprise, Yaoyao caught sight of the caller ID.

Jing Mocong’s entire back stiffened for an instant.

He immediately regretted leaving his phone somewhere so low that the children could see it.

“Daddy, who is that woman?” Yan Shiyao asked curiously.

He cleared his throat.

“It’s nothing. Just someone I do business with. Daddy is going to answer the phone.”

“Okay.”

Jing Mocong picked up the phone and walked into the courtyard before answering the call.

The moment the line connected, the woman’s furious voice blasted through the speaker.

“Jing Mocong, you bastard! You kidnapped my children!”

Beneath her anger, there was a faint tremble in her voice, as though she were on the verge of tears.

Jing Mocong caught it immediately.

His heart clenched.

He raised a hand and smacked the back of his own head.

He had been so overjoyed by the sudden appearance of two children after believing himself infertile that he had completely forgotten to tell their mother that he had brought them home.

No wonder she was frantic…

“Where did you take them? Bring them back immediately!”

“I don’t care if you’re powerful or if you’re the richest man in Shengjing. I’m not afraid of you!”

“Kidnapping children is against the law! I’m calling the police!”

“W-Wait, don’t get worked up. I’ll send you the address. Come over.”

Afraid she would continue cursing him, Jing Mocong quickly hung up and sent Yan Yu the address of his estate.

After receiving the address, Yan Yu wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes with the back of her hand.

She was grinding her teeth in anger.

“Damn you, Jing Mocong. How dare you kidnap my children? I gave birth to them.”

Yan Yu hailed a taxi and headed straight to Jing Mocong’s estate.

As soon as she got out of the taxi, the security guards automatically opened the estate gates and welcomed her inside.

Without thinking much about it, Yan Yu hurried through the grounds toward the main villa.

Before she even reached the entrance, cheerful childish laughter drifted out from inside.

Mixed with the innocent laughter was a deep, magnetic male voice.

It was a familiar voice.

One carrying a gentleness Yan Yu had never experienced before.

Her heart skipped a beat.

She quickened her pace and rushed inside.

“Yaoyao! Junjun!”

The moment she saw the children, her expression became even colder than before.

Her voice was equally stern.

The twins were all too familiar with that tone.

Whenever they caused trouble or refused to behave, Mommy always spoke to them like this before losing her temper and putting them in their place.

“Come here.”

At Yan Yu’s command, the twins, who had been sitting on Jing Mocong’s lap playing, looked at each other.

As though some hidden switch had been activated, they immediately stood up in perfect unison and ran over to her.

Their tiny figures were visibly trembling with fear.

Jing Mocong had no experience raising children.

For a moment, he couldn’t understand what was happening.

He only felt the atmosphere freeze.

The next second—

Smack! Smack!

“I told you not to go off with strangers!”

“What have I always taught you?”

“Did you forget everything?”

“Do you know how many people kidnap children these days?”

“Children as adorable as you two would be sold off in no time, and you’d never see Mommy again!”

Yan Yu gave each child a single smack on their chubby little bottom.

But she said far more than she hit.

Every word came from the bottom of her heart.

Only a mother knew the terror of realizing her children had disappeared.

She blamed herself as well.

She should have kept them by her side.

How could she have sent them to daycare?

“Mommy, I know I was wrong.”

Seeing that Mommy was both angry and heartbroken, Yan Shiyao obediently lowered her head and admitted her mistake.

“Mommy, I know I was wrong too.”

Yan Shijun did the same, hanging his little head.

Yan Yu snorted.

“You two are always quick to admit your mistakes. Every single time I’m about to punish you, you act just like this. But you never learn your lesson!”

“When we get home, both of you are standing facing the wall for one hour to reflect on what you’ve done!”

The twins exchanged glances before nodding in unison.

“Okay, Mommy.”

“Okay, Mommy.”

Only then did Yan Yu’s anger subside somewhat.

She turned toward Jing Mocong.

Then she walked straight toward him.

Jing Mocong had originally intended to go over to her.

But since she was already approaching him, he simply stood where he was and waited.

Unexpectedly, the moment she reached him, she raised her hand and slapped him across the face.

Smack!

Jing Mocong’s face was knocked to one side.

A faint handprint quickly appeared on his fair cheek.

His dark eyes widened in astonishment as he stared at the petite woman standing before him.

“You hit me?”

At that moment, the butler happened to arrive at the doorway carrying a tray of watermelon cut into various cartoon shapes.

He witnessed the slap with his own eyes.

The butler was dumbfounded.

The master… had actually been slapped?

This young lady was incredibly bold.

She was practically a heroine!

But…

Why had she slapped the master?

The instant the twins saw Mommy hit Daddy, both of them shuddered.

They immediately turned around and covered their eyes.

Oh no!

Mommy was so fierce!

They couldn’t watch!

Their mommy was supposed to be gentle!

This definitely wasn’t Mommy.

Mommy must have been possessed by a fierce spirit!

“I’m slapping you because you deserved it.”

Yan Yu struggled to suppress her anger, her voice trembling.

“Why did you kidnap my children?”

“If you want children so badly, why don’t you have them with your wife?”

The moment Jing Mocong heard those two sentences, his temper flared.

His first instinct was to tell her—

They’re my children too!

And you’re my wife! If you want a second child, just say so!

But before the words left his mouth, he quickly regained his composure.

He realized he couldn’t say that.

She was only this furious because the children had disappeared.

The twins hadn’t told her they had come to look for Daddy.

So, in her eyes, they had been kidnapped.

She had been terrified.

The more he thought about it, the guiltier he felt.

This really was his fault.

He should have informed her before bringing the children here.

“Little Yu, I’m sorry. I should have told you before bringing the children here.”

“No.”

Yan Yu corrected him immediately.

“You had no right to take my children away. You’re nothing to them.”

She deliberately emphasized every word.

The man still had no idea that the twins standing before him were his own children.

He knew absolutely nothing.

And yet he was calling her Little Yu so intimately.

What exactly was he trying to do?

Yan Yu felt an even stronger urge to stay far away from this morally questionable man.

Hearing her say that, Jing Mocong frowned.

“Are you sure the two children have nothing to do with me?”

“Open your eyes and compare Junjun with me. Other than our size, don’t we look almost identical?”

“When I was four years old, I looked exactly like him.”

The very thing Yan Yu had been hoping to avoid had happened.

How could Jing Mocong’s mind work so quickly?

Fortunately, she remained perfectly calm.

“You’ve got to be joking.”

“You said it yourself—you can’t have children.”

“If my son happens to resemble you, it’s nothing more than a coincidence.”
