Darius looked at Sebastian “You said you know the God of War?” Sebastian froze for a moment “Yes.

We even had a drink together.

Why?” Darius smiled “Then why don’t I know you?” “Really?” Sebastian was stunned.Full novel: The Worthless Son in Law Is the Nation’s Strongest Warrior — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The others stared at Darius as well.

What was he trying to say?

Sebastian frowned “Are you saying…

you’re the God of War?” Darius smiled “Yes.

I am the God of War.

But I’ve never met you.” For a moment, there was silence.

Then “Hahahaha!” Sebastian laughed so hard that he nearly doubled over.

Even Augustus couldn’t help laughing.

“I’ve seen people exaggerate before,” someone said, shaking his head, “but I’ve never seen anyone take it this far.” What a joke.

To everyone in the room, Darius looked like nothing more than a clown desperately trying to save face.

Cordelia Hawthorne laughed as she looked at Seraphina “Seraphina, your husband is actually pretty funny.” She glanced at Darius, unable to hide the amusement in her eyes “Just because he wants to prove himself, he’s claiming to be the God of War now?” She shook her head.

“Does he even know who the God of War is?

He’s the commander of Valoria’s Ninth War Regiment a man people only hear about in stories.” Then she looked back at Seraphina “Tell me, was the prison he spent six years in some kind of military camp?” Laughter broke out around them again.

Cordelia sighed and shook her head.

“Honestly, Seraphina, I don’t know how you ended up with a husband like him.

I almost feel sorry for you.” The others quickly joined in.

“Seraphina, don’t bring him out with you again in the future.

If you aren’t embarrassed, we are!” “Exactly!

Don’t let him attend family banquets like this again.

The Vale Family has a reputation to protect!” “Malcolm, your family is really becoming more and more disappointing.” Augustus glared at Malcolm with undisguised disgust.

“Seriously…

what did Malcolm do in his past life to deserve this?” Malcolm and Helena lowered their heads, their expressions grim.

This was the most humiliating day of their lives.

Seraphina sat quietly in the corner, enduring the ridicule from every direction.

She didn’t say a word.

Two tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.

So there were still moments even more humiliating than the ones she had already endured.

She looked at Darius.

For the first time, there was even a trace of disgust in her eyes.

She didn’t care that Darius had spent six years in prison.

She didn’t care about the rumours or the disgrace surrounding his name.

What she cared about was his attitude.

She had thought that after he was released from prison, he would start from scratch.

But now, he had disappointed her.

Unrealistic.

All talk.

Desperate to save face.

Like a clown.

Seraphina didn’t want to admit that this was her husband.

Sebastian clearly wasn’t ready to let Darius off the hook.

He sneered “Fine.

Aren’t you the God of War?” He smiled mockingly.

“There’s going to be a welcome banquet in Ravenmere City tomorrow night for this important person.

I hope to see you there.” Darius almost laughed.

This man really knew quite a lot.

There really was such a banquet.

Since Darius intended to stay in Ravenmere City for a long time, he had been assigned a deputy position there.

It was the most reasonable arrangement.

After all, a figure like the God of War couldn’t simply appear in Ravenmere City without explanation.

No one knew why he was there, and his presence alone was enough to make people nervous.

It could easily cause panic.

That was why Ravenmere City had decided to hold a welcome banquet in his honor.

When Augustus heard this, he couldn’t help asking, “Huh?

Sebastian, you can attend that kind of welcome banquet too?” Sebastian stood up and smiled “I just received two invitation letters.” In reality, Sebastian had spent two million to buy two invitations specifically so he could show off at the family banquet.

The moment he said that, everyone in the hall looked at him with admiration.

Two million for a pair of invitations!

Augustus asked cautiously, “Sebastian, is it still possible to get more invitations?

If so, your father and I would also like to go and see what it’s like.” Percival also looked at Sebastian expectantly “That shouldn’t be a problem.” Sebastian agreed without hesitation.

But inwardly, his heart ached.

Another two million!

“I’ll make a call.” Sebastian stepped aside and called someone to buy two more invitation letters.

Cordelia leaned toward Seraphina and smiled mockingly.

“Seraphina, do you think you’ll be able to see me at the welcome banquet tomorrow?” “Hahaha…” Seraphina’s face darkened.

Cordelia was deliberately trying to embarrass her.

Before long, a black car stopped in front of The Gilded Restaurant.

Then, a man in a sharp suit walked inside “Isn’t that Secretary Silas Mercer?” The moment he saw the man, Augustus immediately stepped forward to greet him.

Silas Mercer was a secretary at Ravenmere Civic Hall and regularly came into contact with Ravenmere City’s senior officials.

Anyone who met him had to show him respect “Hello, Mr Vale.” Silas’s expression remained polite.

“My purpose in coming here is very simple.

I’ve been instructed to deliver ten invitations to tomorrow night’s welcome banquet to the Vale Family.” Secretary Silas left ten invitation letters behind and quickly departed.

This was a task assigned to him by the city’s chief secretary.

At that moment, the chief secretary was sitting in the car outside.

He was afraid of accidentally running into the legendary God of War.

He clearly remembered the instructions he had received from above: Tomorrow night’s banquet is important.

The family of the God of War’s father-in-law must attend.

Deliver the invitations, but don’t make it too obvious.

And under no circumstances reveal his identity.

That was why he had asked Secretary Silas to deliver the invitations.

Darius watched the scene unfold without saying a word.

But Sebastian was stunned.

What was going on?

Hadn’t he just bought two invitation letters?

Why had ten invitations suddenly arrived?

And they had been personally delivered by a secretary from Ravenmere Civic Hall.

The next moment, Augustus burst into loud laughter.

“It really is my good grandson-in-law!

With just one word, you had a secretary from Ravenmere Civic Hall personally deliver ten invitations!” He looked at Sebastian with pride.

“Sebastian, you’ve really made the Vale Family proud!

You’ve brought great honour to our family!” Percival’s face broke into a wide smile “My goodness, my son-in-law is truly something!” Julian looked at Sebastian with open admiration “My brother-in-law is incredible!

I really admire you!” Cordelia smiled proudly “I really married the right man.

I’m the luckiest woman.” Then she glanced at Seraphina and sneered, “Unlike Seraphina, who married a rapist.” Cordelia smiled and turned toward Seraphina.

“Seraphina, I’m sorry.

My husband is just…

a little too capable.” She smiled sweetly.

“If you ever need our help in the future, just ask.” Then her expression changed slightly as she glanced at Darius.

“But honestly, I don’t dare get too close to you.

He had thoughts about his own sister-in-law before.

Who knows?

Maybe he’ll have thoughts about another sister-in-law too.” Seraphina’s face immediately darkened.

She was furious.

Wasn’t that a blatant insult?

But there was nothing she could say.

Right now, Sebastian seemed simply too impressive.

With just one phone call, a secretary from Ravenmere Civic Hall had personally come to deliver ten invitations.

How powerful did that connection have to be?

An invitation to a banquet of that level was something the Vale Family normally couldn’t obtain at all.

Even Malcolm and Helena couldn’t hide their envy.

If they had a son-in-law like Sebastian, they would probably wake up smiling every morning.
