Malcolm and Helena were even more envious.

If they had a son-in-law like Sebastian, they would probably wake up smiling every morning.

From then on, all they would have to do was sit back and count money.Full novel: The Worthless Son in Law Is the Nation’s Strongest Warrior — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Then another thought crossed their minds.

Wasn’t Sebastian’s younger brother interested in their daughter?

But they couldn’t convince Seraphina to leave Darius, so they could only keep quiet.

Sebastian, meanwhile, was completely stunned.

What connections did he have in Ravenmere City?

Someone had clearly made a mistake.

But at this moment, he could only accept the credit.

After all, it only made him look even more impressive.

Sebastian smiled modestly.

“Grandpa, you’re embarrassing me.

I could only get ten invitations.

After all, there aren’t many spots available for a banquet like this.” Augustus laughed from ear to ear “Amazing!

Come on, Grandpa will toast you!” Seeing this, Malcolm became even more envious.

Sebastian handed the invitations to Augustus “Grandpa, you can distribute these ten invitations.” “Good.” Augustus had four children in total.

Apart from Malcolm’s family, the remaining invitations were distributed among the outstanding members of the other branches, including Julian.

“Thank you, Grandpa!” Malcolm lowered his head and said nothing.

Helena remained silent beside him.

Seraphina’s expression darkened, but she didn’t say anything either.

In Augustus’s eyes, they weren’t even as important as the younger members of the family and yet, they couldn’t argue.

Their family had contributed the least.

Their company had failed.

They owed Augustus money.

What could they possibly say?

At that moment, Darius suddenly spoke “Why doesn’t our family get an invitation?” The whole family burst into laughter again.

“Why don’t you think about whether your family is even qualified to receive an invitation?” Julian shot back.

“What contribution have you ever made to this family?” “Exactly.” Benedict didn’t bother hiding his contempt.

“You should know your place.

And you still have the nerve to ask for an invitation?” Malcolm, Helena, and Seraphina’s expressions turned grim.

They had already been humiliated enough.

And now, all they could do was sit there and endure it.

The way they looked at Darius was filled with frustration.

Darius gave a cold smile “Because those invitations were sent here because of me.” The room went quiet for a second.

“They were meant for my father-in-law and mother-in-law.

The rest were simply included as extras.” Percival finally lost his patience “Darius, have you no shame at all?” He pointed toward the invitations.

“My son-in-law used his connections to get those invitations.

What does any of this have to do with you?” Sebastian’s expression darkened as well “And who exactly do you think you are?” He sneered.

“You’re actually trying to take credit for something I did?” Benedict turned to Malcolm in frustration.

“Malcolm, look at your son-in-law!” “Take him home already.

And don’t bring him to another family banquet in the future.” His expression was filled with disgust “The Vale Family can’t afford to keep losing face because of him.” Darius was about to say something, but Seraphina grabbed his arm and stopped him.

“Come with me.” She couldn’t take any more of this.

Without waiting for him to answer, she pulled him out of the banquet hall.

Outside the hotel, Seraphina finally let go of him.

Her eyes were already red “Darius…

please.” Her voice broke as she looked at him.

“Just stop embarrassing me.

I can’t keep doing this with you.” The tears she had been holding back finally fell.

Darius reached out and wiped one away.

“Seraphina,” he asked quietly, “do you want to go to that banquet?” She looked at him, frustrated “Of course I do.” Her voice rose.

“Didn’t you see how everyone looked at my parents?

But what’s the point of wanting to go?

Can you get us an invitation?” “I can.” Darius answered without hesitation.

Seraphina’s expression immediately changed again.

She turned away “Seraphina, why don’t you believe me?” Darius asked.

She stopped.

For a moment, she didn’t turn around.

Then she looked back at him.

“After everything you’ve said tonight…

how am I supposed to believe you?” Darius smiled.

“I’ll make sure you attend that banquet.

And when I say something, I mean it.” Seraphina looked at him for a long moment.

“Okay,” she finally said.

“I’ll believe you one last time.” Her expression hardened.

“But if you can’t do it…

then from now on, you and I are strangers.” “Deal.” Seraphina wiped away her tears “Fine.

Then I don’t care anymore.” She took a deep breath.

“I want to go back inside and finish this family dinner.

And I want them to know that my husband can get an invitation too.” “Okay.” Darius nodded.

“You go inside first.

I’ll make a call.” After dialing the number, Darius spoke calmly.

“Wesley, tell Mayor Dean that I’ll attend the banquet he’s hosting tomorrow evening.” There was a brief silence on the other end.

“General…

you’re attending?” Wesley’s voice immediately brightened.

“That’s great news.

The people above were worried you wouldn’t accept Mayor Dean’s invitation.” “I’ll attend,” Darius said.

“But there are some people who definitely won’t.” Wesley immediately understood “Yes, General.

I’ll make the arrangements.” When Darius returned to the hotel lobby, he found Seraphina standing with her head held high, proud as a peacock.

It was obvious she had already told everyone.

A pair of eyes fell on Darius.

“How exactly is this guy going to get an invitation?” “Steal one?” “Or maybe he’ll buy one just to keep pretending?” Sebastian laughed.

“You probably don’t know this, but a single invitation costs more than a million.” Someone immediately sneered.

“Malcolm’s family still owes Grandpa two or three million.

Where would they get the money to buy an invitation?” The Logan Family burst into laughter again.

Soon, the family dinner officially began, and the food was served.

Benedict glanced toward Malcolm’s table.

“I think those four should just get a bowl of noodles each.

Do we really need to waste all this food on them?” Sebastian smiled.

“Give them a proper table of food.

Otherwise, people might think Grandpa treats Malcolm’s family badly.” “Fine.” The other four tables were lively, filled with laughter and raised glasses.

Everyone toasted one another, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more cheerful.

Only Malcolm’s table was silent.

Darius, Seraphina, Malcolm, and Helena sat there without speaking.

Meanwhile, everyone continued praising Sebastian, and the sight was almost enviable.

Malcolm glanced at Sebastian, then at Darius, and let out a long sigh.

“What’s the point of being jealous?

Everyone has their own fate.” Helena shot Darius a disgusted look.

Today had been embarrassing enough.

And Augustus hadn’t told them they could leave, so they didn’t dare go anywhere.

All they could do was sit there and endure it.

Before long, Sebastian approached with a glass of wine in his hand.

A large group of relatives followed behind him, eager to join the conversation.

Sebastian deliberately walked past Darius and stopped in front of Seraphina.

“Seraphina, originally, I wanted to introduce my younger brother to you and let you remarry.

He is much better than me!

But now it seems you don’t have such a blessing.

Your vision is too bad!”
