It had been a few years, Cael now Alex, was of the ripe age of three, his rather new life had flashed by in a mirage of memory’s.

He had still possessed his memory’s, and still retained some level of thought, but what was weirder was today of all things, he thought;

『 Normally I get small fragments of consciousness, where I can ponder what the hell is happening, but..Full novel: Tower of Letters — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Today is off, Normally the fragments are short like less then half a day, but I believe I have been awake for about a day now… 』

It was true, Cael now Alex, had been ‘conscious’ for about a full-day of time now, sitting down in a small hallway.

He was surrounded by wooden doors, and a stone roof, there was nothing special about the architecture, it was common medieval style with a cozy warm feel to the interior of the house.

Cael now Alex, raised his small hand to his chin, looking out to the hallway as he sat at the end of the long path, he had yet to figure out why how or where he was, but he new one thing for certain;

『 This must be a new world..

Maybe it was out of pity from that angel, or maybe it had something to do with the void of all things, or that star, I don’t know!

hhh!

』 He said rubbing his hair relentlessly thinking, his soft silky red-ish orange-ish baby hair was just starting to come through, 『 If anything, I know this is very weird… And better yet, my head spins

『 between fragments like flashes or memory’s that aren’t mine, but I feel very real and am controlling the body… Feray?

Was this what you wanted?

Am I truly ‘out of it’ or am I running away again?

Did you truly believe in me Feray?

Did you really think I would ‘find a way’ a path, a path out of this siege?

』

Alex now Cael, was rather stuck up on this fact, did he betray his title of vice captain?

Or did the master swordsman betray his trust in the knights?

『 Yeah that’s right, Julius, he called himself the ‘Swords-master’ a weird way to vex the title… But what would a Sword master be doing killing people?

He was also wore the same style of uniform… Was he from

Lempira?

I don’t remember there being a new sword-master, and I don’t remember him coming along with the siege, mmmmm, didn’t he said ‘I am surprised there where still more out here’ or something like that?

Why would he be concerned if there more of..

us?

Weird… 』 Remembering what had happened that day, a grim face came to mind as he ‘felt’ what had also happened that day.

Like whenever you run a lot, or when you go for a bike-ride, and you lay in your bed and ‘feel’ that same experience.

Something alike had happened to Alex, feeling everything that had happened, the way his wrist where cut, the way he was rebuilt as Cael, and that image of that angel’s face.

gritting his small baby teeth, he was helpless in those moments;

『 Is this a chance?

A way to get back at that basted?

A..

Second..

Chance.?

』

“Alex? Where are you?”

Tiffen spoke calmly, she was the household maid of the house of course, and had been very trusted and helpful to Alex’s family.

Not only helping them at there lowest, but also taking care of the typical jobs a maid would do with the added bonus of having to take care of Alex.

It’s not like Eveline, who was the lovely blond hair blue eyes of a mother, didn’t take care of Alex, if anything the farther Roland, had taken the least care of Alex.

Tiffen upon seeing Alex sitting in the hallway smirked calmly, brushing off her apron like a professional, “There you are…” She said slowly making her way towards him with her arms out, her round glasses tinting in the light along with her dark red-ish hair, Alex now Cael did not care, in fact, he was scooped up by the maid into her embrace and taken away promptly.

Like many times before it had not been a matter of how but when, his time was completely off from such baby memory’s flying by and such weird events like the void, to Alex now Cael, he felt as if he did not have a time to operate on.

“What where you doing Alex? Thinking about something?” Tiffen said, looking down at Alex who was around her shoulder, by now Alex let it slip that he could talk, still trying to hide bigger words but a conversation was accessible to Alex’s abilities.

Along side that, most of the other parents and family even quite frankly the townspeople where surprised by Alex’s quick growth, he was well regarded for being ahead of his age, he taken his first steps way to early, and started talking almost to soon.

Of course this was well explained, as Alex was really Cael, and

Cael had been well into his twenties before his death, but to everyone else he was a miracle child, and Cael couldn’t deny it either he truly was a miracle child in a different way…

“Yes, I was…” Alex said, trying to suppress his urge to talk normally, Tiffen had been a problem since the very moment he was reborn into this world.

And part of Tiffen was always skeptical, she just never showed such a side in front of a child, with a small laugh she spoke again;

“And, what was it you where thinking?” She questioned walking them into the backyard, after making there way through the house they landed at a door, through such a door was the open lush yard that was the outside.

Nothing was fancy, but there did have a small stone wall layered outside of the house and a part of the yard, the house sat upon a small hill as the nearby village was just nearby, maybe a thirty minuet walk there and back.

Alex thought for a moment trying to find an excuse out of his thoughts, then he spoke;

“Mmm, I was, thinking about, where father is?”

『 Bingo, right on the dot, that avoids me spilling about my past life, and answers a question that has been on my head for a while now..

』

Tiffen looked down at him, slowly putting him on the grassy plains, she thought for a moment, before pondering the same thought, with her finger to her mouth she spoke;

“Why don’t we ask your mother? Mmm? She might know..” She said making her was to the small string in the wind, pulling out a basket from the floor filled with clothes and water, she said again “Though, your mother is out right now, down at the village buying some things for dinner, she should be back in a few minuets so stay where I can see you please…”

Tiffen then begin to fold the clothes arranging them on the line to dry out in the sun, Alex started to walk around, seeing he had nothing to do but wait.

He walked over to his favorite spot, the small grass that was outlined by the stone wall and it only really had a tree within it’s bounds, outside of that there was a line for cloths and that was it.

Walking over he sat on the stone wall under the shade of the tree, dangling his small legs outside of the bounds, watching a few ants carry things about, and the path for wagons and feet to walk on.

『 If I truly died, then why am I still here?

Why am I here of all places?

』

He thought, finding the courage to think about what had happened like before…
