“So, would it be a problem if I just created a magical girl as a test and let her do whatever?” Dave asked, as he waited for a crossing signal at an intersection on the way to the hospital.

*Of course it would be a problem.

If you create a magical girl and she dies, then you’ll have to face a backlash from that death.Full novel: Trapped as a Magical Girl’s Mascot — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The growth her power gains will give you a boost to yours as well.

However, if she dies, you’ll not only lose that boost, but you could lose some of your own power as well.* Dave nodded to himself.

What the voice said made sense and he couldn’t find any fault with what was said.

Yet there still wasn’t anything that he’d be able to do to try and see if what was said proved to be true.

It did at least extend a potential danger to choosing a girl at random to make a magical girl.

Although, it also made sense of the ages that had been suggested for him to choose from with the statement that they were easier to control.

As if they died from not listening to his warnings and suggestions, then he’d potentially get hurt as well.

Yet at the same time, he wasn’t sure he cared for the idea of sending someone, regardless of how young or old they were, into a situation where they could be killed.

That just seemed like it was the very definition of irresponsible to Dave.

“So, how would I create a magical girl if I find someone who has enough… uh, magic potential was it?” *Magical potential.

That’s what it is and how you create a magical girl is you take that potential and add your own potential to theirs.

I don’t know the specifics, but it’ll create the catalyst they’ll need to transform.

When they transform is when they’ll be able to use their powers.

I’ve heard of some who became strong enough that they could use some of their abilities without transforming, but I haven’t seen it for myself.

All I can say is that when they haven’t transformed, they’re just like any regular girl.* Dave wondered if he’d be able to figure out how to use his own ‘potential’ to create a magical girl if he actually decided to try.

For one thing, he wasn’t entirely convinced that the voice wasn’t just some hallucination he was experiencing.

Especially with how all this seemed so far fetched that it almost seemed plausible.

As the signal changed, allowing him to cross the street safely, Dave started walking again.

He could only chuckle to himself as he thought what he’d do if what the voice said was actually true.

He doubted all of it would be true, especially since it couldn’t say exactly what system it was, but that was another matter altogether.

What Dave felt he needed to focus on, if he was actually going to do this was how he’d be able to get close enough to a girl to convince her to become a magical girl without getting arrested.

*Something funny, Dave?* “Not really.

Just thinking about how I’d get arrested if I went with your suggested ages for candidates.” *Hey, I did mention I’d help you turn into a plushie?

Just decide what you’d like to be and you’ll be able to interact with the girls you choose without worrying about… uh, whatever it is that you’re worried about with that.* Dave sighed.

He wasn’t sure he really thought it’d be that easy.

Especially with how he’d expect the girls to react in a less than positive way when hearing a toy talking.

After all, that sort of thing just didn’t happen in real life.

“Let’s just say that it’d work like you say,” Dave sighed, not wanting to think about it too much, as he could feel a headache coming on.

“How would I get the girl to not freak out by hearing a toy talking to them?

And also, while I’m on that same note, how would I keep a girl who I’m not trying to turn into a magical girl from taking me while I’m a stuffed animal?” *Well, first those who have magical potential would be drawn to you.

Though, I’m not sure how to keep them from freaking out.

Each person is different, after all.

Maybe you should wait until they’re waking up or something before saying anything?

That might keep them from taking a more negative reaction to you talking.* Dave wished that the voice had a better response, but he couldn’t say that what the voice said was completely wrong.

After all, there might be someone out there who would be happy to have a toy talking to them, regardless of if that was something they thought happened all the time or not.

When Dave reached the hospital, he felt another pressure strike him.

It was about the same level as the woman he’d passed by earlier, but this one was coming from an ambulance that was pulling up.

He wasn’t sure if it was the age that the voice was wanting him to try and recruit, but he had a feeling about this.

If the voice did actually turn him into a toy so he could get close to her without getting the authorities involved, then he’d make an honest attempt to first try and convince this girl to become a magical girl, and then turn her into one if she agreed.

Though, first he figured he should wait until he had the perfect opportunity.

As he doubted that it’d make his job any easier if he tried entering the hospital as a plush toy.

Dave walked through the emergency room exit, right behind the EMTs as they pushed the girl on the gurney through the doors that Dave knew was his candidate to be a magical girl.

The girl was unconscious and Dave wondered what happened.

As if she didn’t wake up, he couldn’t say if he’d be able to convince her then.

Especially since he wasn’t sure if it’d really be ethical to turn her into a magical girl while she couldn’t give informed consent.

However, first he needed to become a plush toy so he’d be able to get close enough to her so when she did wake up, he’d be able to make his pitch.
