[You have reached the final floor, Abyssal Tyrant’s domain.]
On the sleek, black monitor screen, the notification flashed in the boy’s black eyes.
His hand rested on the keyboard, staring at his character with pride.
A warrior clad in golden armor, with a large silver sword held in his right hand.
The Abyssal Tyrant was a humanoid being with two large black horns curled atop his head.
Deep black eyes that seemed to absorb the light.
A large crimson-black sword was in his hand.
The boy stared at the enemy, fingers hovering slightly over the key as he awaited the inevitable clash.
[Auraninja: What is this? The hundredth attempt?]
[Chris452: Fr though, he is really tenacious, even reaching the hundredth floor when every other person stopped at the 70th floor.]
Some of the messages were directly insulting him, while some were encouraging.
A few gifts even rolled in.
But the boy ignored all of these.
[Start.]
Patt.
A click echoed through the empty room, followed by countless others.
The boy’s hand flashed across the keyboard, pressing letter after letter in a flurry.
Not once did his eyes leave the screen, but he still managed to press the right keys.
He weaved through attack after attack fluidly. There was no pause or hesitation.
Every skill was used with calculated timing. After countless attempts, every move of the tyrant had been etched deeply into his mind.
The first few minutes passed.
His character remained unscathed. Not a single bar had dropped from his HP.
But the same could not be said for the tyrant.
It was already down to five percent of its full HP.
A smile had begun to form on the boy’s lips.
"This time around, I will definitely win," he said, his hands moving faster than before.
Even the chat had begun to slow down as they watched. They had never seen the boy reach this far in his long week of playing.
Although they did not want to believe it, the entire thing was playing out in their face.
The boy paused, eyes sweeping through the screen for a moment before he pressed a combination of keys in a flurry. The motion was so fast that most people could only make out two out of the over ten keys.
As he stopped, the character on the screen swung its heavy sword, releasing a long arc of pure golden light along the blade’s path.
The pixel earth was sliced cleanly, a long line caving into its structure as the arc shot forward.
It sliced through the tyrant’s body, splitting him in two equal parts.
The corpse began to break into pixels that disappeared almost immediately.
The boy blinked as he saw this scene. His fingers hovered over the keyboard as he stared in disbelief.
In the next second, a message flashed on the screen.
[You have successfully slain the Abyssal Tyrant.]
On the side of the monitor, messages refreshed faster than before. The speed was enough to crash any ordinary pc.
Luckily, the boy was using no ordinary pc.
[Badmilo: Did he just clear Tower Of Ascension Online?]
[Myriad_hunter221: I need to screenshot this to show my children in the future]
[Penwrites: I can also clear this muhaha. He probably exploited bugs alongside the developers]
[Boring_angel: @penwrites you should probably be sleeping so you wouldn’t go to school late tomorrow ]
[Whispering_pendant: I don’t know when kids started joining live streams @penwrites]
Sitting in his chair with a victorious smile, Perry smiled.
"First person to ever clear Tower Of Ascension," he muttered with a smile.
"And that’s also going into my box of achievements."
It had cost him countless sleepless nights, hundreds of repeated gameplay, but he had done it in the end.
"You can send all collab deals to my mail, I will answer them once I wake up," he finally said.
[Slumbering_angel: You deserve it my goat.]
[Slumbering_angel has sent a golden gachapon.]
As if that were a trigger, gifts began flying in. Perry just sighed before shutting the live stream.
"That was fun," he said, flexing his fingers till they released a crack sound.
Although he had played hundreds of games in hisnjourney as a streamer, none of them came close to the difficulty of Tower of Ascension. "It even made me invest one week."
But none of these bothered Perry. That was the kind of satisfaction he wanted from playing games.
"I should find something to play after I wake up though," he said, stroking his chin in contemplation. "The company behind Tower of Ascension might have something for me."
Scrolling through their page, Perry’s brows twitched. "Too bad, their only game is Tower of Ascension."
He did not think about it too much. "I will find other games to play in due time."
His thought was soon broken by a blue, transparent screen that appeared in his face.
[Dimensional Game. Would you like to play?]
Perry blinked. "How is it hovering mid air?" he wondered aloud.
He would have thought it was something his friends did, but he had none. Finally, a heavy heave escaped his lips.
"Maybe I really need to sleep," he said.
To him, he was hallucinating, something caused by going for a week straight without sleep.
He stood up from the chair and turned to the large white bed behind him.
The floor was littered with snack wrappers and soda cans.
"The cleaner would be here soon."
Perry was living the life most people dreamed of at the tender age of twenty.
He had amassed all of his wealth from his streaming, and clearing games that were considered impossible by human standards.
As an orphan, he did not need to worry about being a complete shut-in.
"Huff."
He jumped into the bed, and his eyes gave out almost immediately.
For a few seconds, there was no sound.
Until...
[Your refusal to answer has been translated as approval.]
There was silence yet again.
