Lukas paced in his room, one hand in his hair, the other on his waist as he contemplated what to do.
Compared to when he had newly received the news, he was much calmer now.
"I should at least get to Raymond first to finalize the housing issues," he muttered.
"I will get back to Bell after I am done with Tencent."
Although Lukas wouldn’t need the money by then, he still felt the need to punish Bell.
This was no longer about the money.
"He dares to steal from the god of trickery," Lukas muttered, already walking into the bathroom.
Time passed slowly and Lukas found himself outside the hotel.
"Well, I am basically empty at the moment," he said with a sigh.
He continued walking. He was going to the bank first.
’Hopefully, he has not done anything to my money.’
The morning sun touched his body, giving his pale skin a red glow.
Lukas ignored it as he walked further.
"Where is the entrance to the Void battlefield though?" he muttered, stroking his chin slowly.
He had checked almost everywhere in this city, but he had found no visible exit.
No place that led to a large battlefield of thousands of superhumans and grotesque creatures.
He reached the bank and walked in.
"Hi," he said to the receptionist. "My phone was stolen yesterday, I want to know if I still have access to my account."
The receptionist paused, then smiled. "You would need to provide me with the documents you collected when you opened the account," she said.
Lukas frowned. ’Where did I keep those papers I collected when I opened the account?’ he mused, squinting tightly.
But nothing came to mind. ’It would be in the wardrobe or something,’ he thought.
Finally, he sighed.
"Just give me the number of the house agent. I will bring the documents later."
The receptionist nodded, then brought a pen and paper out of her drawer.
She scribbled a few words on the paper and slid it towards Lukas.
With a calm gesture, Lukas picked the paper from the table and turned to leave.
"Thank you," he said, waving his hand without looking back.
"I would leave it to Raymond to speak with the agent," he muttered, holding the paper between his two fingers as he walked through the automatic doors.
The association office was quite far from his current position, but Lukas got there within thirty minutes.
Standing in the elevator that led to Raymond’s office, various thoughts crossed his mind. Some about his stolen properties, and others about Tencent the next day.
’Everything needs to go as planned, that’s all that matters,’ he thought.
The door chimes open, revealing Raymond’s office. Raymond sat in the same spot as before, his gaze fixed on the doors.
Before Lukas even stepped in, he spoke.
"What happened to your phone?" His voice was stern, as though he was speaking to a child.
"Good morning," Lukas replied.
"That does not answer me."
Lukas shrugged. "It’s courtesy to greet someone when you meet them."
Raymond paused for a moment.
"Anyways, my phone got stolen alongside my umbrella and wristwatch."
Raymond frowned, then leaned backward into his chair. "Are you here to discuss your house?"
Lukas nodded, pulling one of the chairs out and sitting in it.
Raymond looked at him but said nothing.
Lukas, hearing Raymond’s words, removed the paper from his pocket. "This is the number," he said, stretching towards Raymond.
Raymond collected it and nodded.
Silence stretched between both of them as Raymond dialed the number.
After a few minutes, the other side picked up.
"I would like to rent the apartment you have for lease," Raymond said directly.
The person on the other side was taken aback, temporarily shocked by Raymond’s approach.
Even Lukas could not help but shake his head. ’He really doesn’t understand human relationships,’ he thought.
"The apartment costs twenty million per year and is located on Bellwood Street."
The agent adapted to Raymond’s style perfectly, replying as directly as possible.
But this only made Raymond frown. He raised a brow as he looked at Lukas.
"That was the only one I saw, don’t blame me," Lukas said with a shrug.
"Send the address to this number, let’s meet there."
"Okay. We can do that," the person replied.
Raymond hung up as soon as the agent confirmed it.
He looked into Lukas’s eyes this time around.
Then he sighed as he bent to look into his drawer.
As he did this, Lukas’s gaze shifted to the stack of papers on the table. It was the same as before.
After looking at it for a moment, he nodded.
Raymond came up, this time with a black card and a key in his hand.
"This card contains thirty million denvar, payment for your apartment, and two months’ advance salary."
Lukas did the maths with a squint. "Five million per month?" he asked.
Raymond nodded without paying much attention to the question.
"You also have an official car, this is its key," Raymond said, throwing the key gently at Lukas.
Lukas caught it in his palm with a casual smile.
"Ask one of the receptionists downstairs to take you to the garage. It is a BFL in the sixth pillar."
"Okay, thank you," Lukas said, standing up from the chair smoothly.
A smile clung to his face as he walked towards the elevator. ’Such a lucrative job,’ he thought.
Thinking about it, Lukas felt he might not have found a need to kill Tencent if he had known about these incentives beforehand.
’Alas, things have gotten to this stage.’
The elevator’s ring jolted him out of his thoughts.
Lukas was back on the lowest floor, at the reception.
Walking to the table, he nodded slightly.
"Raymond asked one of you to take me to the garage," he said.
The receptionists exchanged shocked glances. "The director?" they asked as if to confirm.
"Sure, whatever," Lukas replied with a casual shrug.
