Lukas stepped out of the vehicle, adopting Tencent’s image.
Instead of heading to the main company, he went straight to the abattoir. After all, the main company was just a facade hiding his hideous deeds.
This abattoir on the other hand was definitely going to house most of the resources Tencent had to offer.
"At least, even if I can’t have freedom for now, I can at least enjoy the wealth of this rich man."
To Lukas, the penalty was something he would escape soon, he only needed to become a stronger god, advance to a higher rank, and become stronger than the association, even if it had to be achieved alone.
But this was probably going to take a long time. ’I think finding the White Tiger gang would be easier than this,’ Lukas thought.
"Welcome back, boss," a person suddenly said from behind, his tone rugged and loud.
His head was cocked down in a bow as Lukas approached.
In response, he shrugged.
It wasn’t about him suddenly being arrogant; he had to do it because of the person he was currently imitating.
The person who had greeted him, a man who looked to be in his early thirties, with short brown hair, raised his head.
The man stared at the car Lukas had brought, but he made no comment on it. After all, in his opinion, Tencent was rich, if he wanted it, he could buy it. With those thoughts, he turned away.
"How did the operation go?" The man asked.
"Where are our boys?"
Lukas did not reply.
The man paused for a moment, not knowing whether to continue with his interrogation, or just keep quiet for his so-called boss to speak.
But Lukas spared him the stress of thinking.
"Since when did you start asking me questions?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to let his eyes gaze back into the man’s eyes.
The man shuddered as his instincts screamed.
Lukas had not released any oppressive aura, after all, the mask could not copy the aura or abilities of those Lukas transformed into.
But this feat was not born of any external interference, it was one born from the dread of following Tencent for years and knowing just how dangerous he truly was.
Lukas turned forward, stepping through the metallic door, into the seemingly separate dimension of the abattoir.
The thick, metallic scent of blood was so prominent that he could feel its taste on his tongue.
He squinted, his eyes turning bloodshot from
The unbearable feeling. It was far worse than anything he had experienced the last time he came here.
’Did they reduce their job somehow because I was coming that day?’ Lukas mused.
But he did not think too much about it.
"Hey, give me a file on every one of my assets, alongside my previous dealings, and all my businesses and their revenue growth in the past year."
He spoke in a flurry that was too fast for the man to catch.
All he heard was a file.
There was only one file in the entire place that warranted Tencent’s attention.
And that was what he heard.
"Okay, sir."
With a bow, he excused himself, walking towards one of the wardrobes on the far end of the place.
Lukas on the other hand, had his eyes on the office on the other end. Under the constant greetings of the workers there, he finally entered the office.
’The effects of the mask would run out before I finished here, thankfully, I can wait for ten minutes in this place.’
As he thought, he made his way towards the roller chair behind the small brown table in the room.
The room was small, barely able to contain five people.
There was a single tall shelf standing beside the table.
"Why would someone be crazy enough to put these on display?" Lukas muttered, covering his mouth to avoid puking at this point.
On the shelf, arranged in rows and columns were the severed heads of people.
Each head had a different expression on its face.
But there was one common thing in their eyes.
Face. It twisted their faces.
"I never knew he was such a psychopath," Lukas muttered as he sat in the chair.
The table was empty, nothing was in it.
A soft knock was what snapped Lukas out of his mumbling.
"Come in," he said, his voice sounding in the same rough, loud tone as the real Tencent’s.
Walking in was the same man who had greeted him earlier.
He carried a stack of files in his hand.
Looking at it, Lukas could not help but frown. ’He keeps too much information for a shady business like this,’ he thought. ’Maybe he is more competent than I thought.’
"Grant said he is coming soon with an updated file."
Lukas nodded in response, dismissing the man after he dropped the files.
His eyes lingered on the back of the man till he exited the room.
Then a heavy sigh escaped his lips.
He got to work, his fingers sliding on the file gently before he flipped the first page open.
’This is going to be a long task,’ he mused.
But it was something he needed to do in order to understand things around here.
Unknowingly, forty minutes passed in a blur.
’The effects of the mask have ended,’ he thought, seeing as his face and body had gone back to normal.
"This was the reason I chose to stay here in the first place."
While he spoke, he continued reading the file.
Then he raised his head slightly as he felt a sudden sound.
’Fuck!’ The words rang like a gong in his mind as he saw the knob begin to tilt downward.
It felt as though time had slowed at this moment.
’Who is it?’ He thought, looking around.
If someone exposed him here, the chances of him losing his life were very high.
